He was a Montenegrin (Dalmatian) Capuchin priest. His original name was Bogdan Ivan Mandic. He was known for his zeal for Christian unity and to the ministry of reconciliation. He collaborated in the reunification with the Orthodox Church, but this did not come true. He dedicated himself above all to the ministry of confession. For nearly forty years, twelve hours a day, he absolved and counselled thousands of penitents.

He was sent to Paris, and he established the order there. The people loved him for being very approachable. He was still alive when St. Dominic (who was younger than him) got canonized.
