He’s more popularly known as Saint Henry II. He was a Holy Roman Emperor and a Benedictine oblate. He was married to Saint Kinigundis. They chose to practice marital celibacy. He impelled Pope Benedict VIII to insert the “Filioque” to the creed which proclaims that “the Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father and the Son.” He also enforced celibacy among the clergy and made bishops government leaders of communities.
