| 3 |  For many of us, discerning our vocation can be a source of anxiety, uncertainty, or even frustration. We may wonder if we're doing enough, praying enough, or becoming "holy enough" for God to reveal His plan for our lives.
But our vocation is not a reward for good behaviour or a problem to be solved. It is a gift, freely given by God in His love, and an invitation to trust His will. Our holiness is not determined by whether we are married, single, ordained, or living the consecrated life. Rather, our vocation is one of the ways God leads us to holiness.
As we continue to seek Him each day, we can trust that God, in His mysterious and loving ways, will gently reveal the vocation He has prepared for us. All He asks of us is an open heart, willing to follow wherever He leads.

Sr Christiane Chua (Sr Christine Chua), IJ of the Infant Jesus Sisters has returned to the Lord on 27 July 2026 at St Joseph's Home. She was 91.
The Archdiocese extends condolences to the Infant Jesus Sisters in this time of loss and invites all to pray for her in your masses and prayers.

| 10 |  Like many cradle Catholics, Simon slowly drifted from his faith. Church became more of an obligation than a relationship with God, and for almost three decades he lived life on his own terms. But after the unexpected passing of his father in 2021, God met him in his grief and gently called him back to the faith. Through the Sacrament of Reconciliation, Simon began rediscovering God's mercy and love.
Today, Simon knows that following Christ doesn't mean having a perfect life. He still struggles, but the Eucharist nourishes him, Confession restores him, and prayer keeps him grounded. As Pope Francis reminds us, "There is no saint without a past, nor sinner without a future." No matter how long we've been away, God never stops calling us home. His arms remain open, patiently waiting for us to return.

Holiness is built through the small, faithful choices we make each day. A simple plan of life — setting aside time for prayer, Scripture, the Eucharist, and moments with God helps us keep Him at the centre of our lives. It isn't about doing everything perfectly, but about returning to Him each day and trusting that His grace is slowly transforming us.
