02 When Benedict and his wife discovered they were expecting their first child, their hearts overflowed with joy. However, this happiness was tempered by the shocking news of a 10cm cyst in her right ovary.
Amid the whirlwind of emotions and uncertainty, they found strength in God the Father, their steadfast rock. This challenging period deepened their faith and drew them closer together in a shared prayer life, centering their relationship in Christ even more.

03 Growing up, Dominic witnessed his father's unwavering love and devotion to their family, a daily example that shaped his understanding of sacrificial love and service. This foundation was further enriched by spiritual mentors who provided invaluable guidance, especially during challenging times when Dominic was juggling fatherhood and full-time legal practice.
Today, Dominic strives to emulate this nurturing love in his own life, knowing that his ability to care for others is a direct result of the profound influence of both his earthly and spiritual mentors.

07 Have you ever felt the profound impact of a single word of encouragement during a challenging moment? Or perhaps you've been that beacon of light for someone else, offering a glimmer of hope when they needed it most?
Encouragement isn't just about saying something nice or coating words with false optimism. It's a divine gift, a supernatural transmission of grace from one heart to another, infused with hope and courage. Let us be known for how we lift others up, filling their spirits with courage and faith in the stories that God is weaving in each of our lives.

11 For most people, especially the younger generation and the intellectuals, they tend to reduce faith to reason. They need explanations to be logical and scientific in order for them to come to believe in the existence of God. It is not wrong of course, to seek rational proofs. That is part of our formation of faith as well. Faith and reason are not contradictory. Nevertheless reason alone, whilst not impossible, cannot bring one to faith. Faith needs reason, but faith is beyond reason. Faith is therefore reasonable, but not reasoned. Reason establishes the credibility for faith.
Having said that, faith also requires the grace of God who is at work in all those who are open and sincere in trying to seek Him. Do not be discouraged in your search for God. Continue to seek Him, but most importantly, ask for the gift of faith so that you may encounter Him in a way that transcends reason.

Here's the heart of it: Catholic educators, whether in Catholic or non-Catholic schools, are entrusted with a sacred duty — to cultivate saints, individuals deeply connected to their faith and guided by values of compassion, integrity, and service.

18 Born out of a vision of a spiritual oasis for all Catholics in Singapore, the Catholic Hub has been carefully designed to cultivate areas that will nurture and support community life, retreats, prayer, and formation.
Have an insight to the thought process behind its design from the architects themselves!
Let us continue to pray for the safe and smooth construction of this spiritual oasis. May the Catholic Hub truly be a place of faith for all Catholics and a conduit for greater collaboration in our Church, so that more will come to know of God’s love!

23 St. Joan of Arc’s determined devotion to fulfilling God’s will made her a saint. She was canonised not in recognition of her military victories or in reparation for her unjust execution, but because “from her example, all Christians may learn that obedience to the will of God is holy and devout, and obtain from her the grace to convert their fellow citizens to obtain heavenly life” (𝘋𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘢 𝘋𝘪𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘦).
Hers and the likes of other saints show us that we only grow to properly love God when we subject ourselves to God and His will voluntarily. Let us call upon the intercession of Joan of Arc’s intercession as we strive to submit ourselves to His will more and more each day.

31 My dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
In both his encyclical, Laudato Si’, and his latest exhortation, Laudate Deum (2023), Pope Francis not only urges us to act and work towards the care of our common home as stewards of God’s creation, but to seek the Lord in His work of art, with joy and gratitude for what He has created.
I am echoing this call to action for genuine change in the Singapore Archdiocese.
To make this a reality, Caritas Singapore has been appointed to lead the Catholic community in Singapore in its care for creation efforts by working with parishes and numerous other Catholic groups, as well as collaborating with other like-minded partners.
Although this task may seem insurmountable, we can all play our part in stewarding our common home through a spirit of determination to make small changes, one at a time.

32 Laudato Si’ Week (May 19-26, 2024) beckons us to listen to the message of Pope Francis' encyclical Laudato Si’. It reminds us that we are all interconnected and how we should strive to foster a deeper respect for the Lord’s creation and promote sustainable habits.
Visit laudatosiweek.org for a guide which includes suggested actions, its importance and impact on our planet; as well as supporting arguments based on the magisterium of the Catholic Church and science.

33 Dear Buddhist friends,
Our heartfelt greetings this Vesak Day as you celebrate the birth, enlightenment, and final nirvana of Gautama Buddha. May your hearts be filled with peace and joy!
In today's world, many pursue material wealth while relegating spiritual values and their sense of morality to the back seat.
May our [Buddhist and Christian] communities continue to adopt a way of life that seeks truth over falsehood, compassion over hatred, and forgiveness over revenge to ensure lasting peace and prosperity in our nation for the generations to come.
