A Heartfelt Conversation with Courage and Encourage I had a private personal heart-to-heart conversation with about 45 members from Courage and Encourage two weeks ago, listening to their struggles, their pains and their aspirations as Catholics. I felt assured and consoled that many of them found strength and regained their faith through journeying with Courage. I heard a most heart-wrenching appeal from this community – to not judge them or marginalize them. They want to serve Christ and His Church just like all of us. The larger church must be more sympathetic, empathetic and welcoming so that they, too, feel that they are loved, embraced and invited to journey with the larger community in faith and in love. This is my prayer for the entire Church – that regardless of our sexual orientation, we must seek to be more inclusive, and strive to help each other to grow in authenticity, in truth and love, as we accompany each other to walk in the way of the gospel. 📝 Read my full reflection
