So they said: O Rabb! We don’t feel safe from Your plan.
So Allaah said: You should remain this way!

| 5 | The Repentance of Dawud.
When Dawud made his mistake, he fell down in Sujood to Allah for forty days.
His tears watered the ground until plants grew from them and covered his head.
He then cried out: Ya Rabb! The forehead has become sore, and the tears have dried, but Dawud has not yet been forgiven!
So it was called out (by Allaah): Are you hungry so you‘ll be fed or sick so you‘ll be cured, or oppressed so you‘ll be assisted?
At this, he cried out a loud cry that withered all the plants that had grown and at this time he was forgiven.

| 12 | ✒ Had it not been for Jarḥ Wat Ta’deel | Imām ash-Shawkānee Raḥimahullāh
قال الشوكاني : ولوﻻ هذا الجرح والتعديل لتلاعب الناس الكاذبون بالسنة واختلط المعروف بالمنكر ولم يتبين ما هو صحيح وما هو باطل
Imām ash-Shawkānee Raḥimahullāh said: “Had it not been for this (science of) Jarḥ Wat Ta’deel (praising and disparaging), the liars would PLAY with the SUNNAH, EVIL would mix with the GOOD and it wouldn’t be clear what is CORRECT and what is FALSE.”

| 13 | Abdullāh ībn Abbas [رضي الله عنه] mentions in the Tafsīr of Surāh Kafiroon:
«لیس في القرآن أشد غیظاً لأبلیس لأنھا توحید و براءة من الشرك.»
❝There is nothing in the Qur’ān which makes Iblīs more angry because [this Surāh] is Tawhīd and being completely far away from Shīrk.❞

This is a great statement! Everything belongs to Allah, if something is taken away from you then remember it is in His ownership, and if He gives you something then it is still in His ownership, so then how can you be displeased when He takes from you what belongs to Him?

| 20 | Beware Of Hypocritical Humility!!
كما قال بعضهم : استعيذوا بالله من خشوع النفاق. قالوا : وما خشوع النفاق؟ قال : أن ترى الجسد خاشعًا والقلب ليس بخاشع. ونظر عمر رضي الله عنه إِلَى شاب قد نكس رأسه فَقَالَ له : يا هذا ، ارفع رأسك ، فإن الخشوع لا يزيد عَلَى ما في القلب . فمن أظهر للناس خشوعًا فوق ما في قلبه ، فإنما هو نفاق عَلَى نفاق.
The Salaf would seek refuge from hypocritical humility, just like (it has been reported that) some of them would say: “Seek Allāh’s Refuge from hypocritical submissiveness.” it was said: “And what is hypocritical submissiveness?”, they said: “That you see the BODY in SUBMISSIVENESS while the HEART has NO HUMILITY.”

And ‘Umar b. al-Khaṭṭāb رضي الله عنه saw a young man with his head lowered so ‘Umar said to him: “O this one raise your head for indeed humility is not more than what is IN THE HEART, so whoever displays submissiveness which is NOT in his heart then this is only HYPOCRISY ON TOP OF HYPOCRISY.”
