ایجوکیشن سٹی کے نام پر ملیر کے زرعی زمینوں پر قبضہ اور جبری بے دخلیاں ناقابلِ قبول ہے۔ بلوچ یکجہتی کمیٹی بلوچ یکجہتی کمیٹی ملیر میں ایجوکیشن سٹی کے نام پر مقامی زمینوں، گوٹھوں اور زرعی خطے کو متاثر کرنے کے خلاف جاری عوامی جدوجہد کے ساتھ مکمل یکجہتی کا اظہار کرتی ہے۔ ترقی اور تعلیم کسی بھی معاشرے کی ضرورت ہیں، لیکن ایسی ترقی جو مقامی لوگوں کو ان کی آبائی زمین، گھروں، روزگار، ماحول اور شناخت سے محروم کرکے مسلط کی جائے، اسے عوامی ترقی کے بجائے عوام دشمنی ہی کہا جا سکتا ہے۔ آج ایجو کیشن سٹی کے نام پر ملیر کی زمینوں کو مقامی آبادی سے چھیننے کی کوشش دراصل پیپلز پارٹی کی جانب سے بلوچ آبادیوں کی زمین اور اجتماعی وجود کے خلاف اختیار کی جانے والی بلوچ دشمن پالیسیوں کی انتہا ہے۔ ملیر میں صدیوں سے بلوچ آباد ہیں اور اس خطے کی زمینیں، زرعی زندگی اور مقامی سماج ان کی تاریخی شناخت کا حصہ ہیں۔ ان زمینوں کو ایک منصوبے کے تحت مقامی آبادی سے چھیننے کی کوشش دراصل ان کے تاریخی اور اجتماعی وجود کو کمزور کرنے کی پالیسی ہے۔ ایجوکیشن سٹی کے منصوبے سے ملیر کی چھ دیہوں میں تقریباً 20 ہزار ایکڑ زمین متاثر ہونے کا خدشہ ہے، جبکہ 80 سے زائد گوٹھوں، قدیم قبرستانوں، تاریخی مقامات اور زرعی زمینوں کو بھی خطرہ لاحق ہے۔ تقریباً ایک ہزار ایکڑ زمین کو فوری طور پر منصوبے کے لیے حاصل کرنے کا عمل مقامی آبادی کے زمین سے متعلق حقوق کے لیے ایک سنگین خطرہ بن چکا ہے۔ بین الاقوامی اصول بھی مقامی و مقامی باشندوں کے زمین سے متعلق حقوق کو تسلیم کرتے ہیں۔ اقوامِ متحدہ کے اعلامیہ برائے حقوقِ مقامی اقوام (UNDRIP) کے آرٹیکل 26 کے تحت مقامی اقوام کو اپنی روایتی طور پر زیرِ استعمال یا زیرِ قبضہ زمینوں اور وسائل پر حقوق حاصل ہیں، جبکہ آرٹیکل 32 کے مطابق ان کی زمین یا وسائل کو متاثر کرنے والے منصوبوں کی منظوری سے قبل ریاستوں کو متعلقہ آبادی سے بامعنی مشاورت اور آزاد، پیشگی اور باخبر رضامندی حاصل کرنے کے لیے تعاون کرنا چاہیے۔ فقیر محمد بلوچ گوٹھ میں متاثرین کی جاری احتجاجی بیٹھک اس بات کا اظہار ہے کہ مقامی افراد اپنی زمینوں کے مستقبل کا فیصلہ بند کمروں میں نہیں ہونے دیں گے۔ بلوچ یکجہتی کمیٹی 29 اگست بروز ہفتہ کو ملیر لنک روڈ پر ضیاءالدین یونیورسٹی کے سامنے ہونے والے پُرامن احتجاج کی بھرپور حمایت کرتی ہے اور تمام باشعور شہریوں سے اس جدوجہد میں شرکت کی اپیل کرتی ہے۔ ہم تمام سیاسی، سماجی، انسانی حقوق، ماحولیاتی، وکلا، صحافتی، طلبہ اور سول سوسائٹی کے حلقوں سے اپیل کرتے ہیں کہ ملیر کے عوام کی اس پُرامن اور جمہوری جدوجہد کا ساتھ دیں۔ اور متعلقہ حکام کے سامنے یہ مطالبہ رکھا جائے کہ مقامی آبادی کی رضامندی کے خلاف زمینوں پر قبضہ، جبری بے دخلے، زرعی زمینوں کی تباہی اور تاریخی مقامات کو خطرے میں ڈالنے کے عمل کو فوری طور پر روکا جائے۔

𝘽𝙖𝙡𝙤𝙘𝙝 𝙔𝙖𝙠𝙟𝙚𝙝𝙩𝙞 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙞𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙚 Several cases pertaining to the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) are currently pending before the Balochistan High Court and are facing persistent and unexplained delays in their adjudication. On several occasions, when these matters have been fixed for hearing before the concerned Bench, including Court No. 1 (Chief Justice Bench), the Court has not proceeded with the cases and the entire cause list has been discharged. Consequently, the matters are repeatedly adjourned to subsequent dates without effective proceedings. This situation is not only adversely affecting the BYC leadership but is also causing considerable prejudice to ordinary litigants whose cases remain pending before the Court. In particular, the bail applications of the BYC leadership, filed in February of the current year following their rejection by the Anti-Terrorism Court, Quetta, have already been fixed for hearing on approximately five different occasions at various intervals. However, on each occasion when the matters were scheduled for hearing, the Board was discharged, resulting in the cases being adjourned to another date. Similarly, several other Constitutional Petitions (CPs) concerning BYC matters are also experiencing prolonged delays and are not being effectively heard or decided. The continued postponement of these bail applications is a matter of serious legal concern, particularly where the liberty of individuals is involved. Bail matters, by their very nature, require expeditious consideration because they directly concern the fundamental right to liberty and protection against unnecessary or prolonged incarceration. The right to a fair and expeditious determination is an essential component of due process and fair trial. The principle that “justice delayed is justice denied” assumes particular significance in matters concerning personal liberty. Repeated adjournments and non-effective hearings, without substantive proceedings, can substantially prejudice the rights of accused persons and undermine the very purpose of judicial remedies. Where individuals remain in custody, every unnecessary delay has a direct and serious impact on their fundamental right to liberty. The delay also affects the broader administration of justice. When matters are repeatedly fixed for hearing but cannot proceed, litigants are left without an effective judicial remedy and are compelled to endure further uncertainty and prolonged litigation. Such circumstances warrant careful judicial attention, particularly in cases involving the fundamental rights and liberty of individuals. It is therefore submitted that the pending bail applications and other constitutional matters concerning the BYC leadership should be taken up and decided at the earliest possible opportunity, in accordance with law, constitutional guarantees, and the principles of fair, transparent, and expeditious justice. The present situation warrants serious judicial attention so that unnecessary delays may be avoided, the rights of the petitioners and accused persons may be protected, and public confidence in the administration of justice may be preserved. The BYC reiterates its commitment to pursuing all legal and peaceful avenues for the protection of fundamental rights and calls for timely, transparent, and effective adjudication of all matters pending before the Balochistan High Court.

NAZAR MARRI — ONE YEAR IN TORTURE CELL Nazar Marri is a committed young Baloch from Kohlu, an orphan who chose to stand against injustice rather than remain silent. He remained steadfast in his commitment and dedicated himself to raising his voice against state atrocities imposed upon the Baloch people. A HUMAN RIGHTS DEFENDER Nazar Marri is an active member of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) and a prominent voice alongside grieving Baloch mothers and sisters. He tirelessly participated in Raaji Muchi, the Dalbandin Jalsa, and other peaceful political activities, giving his time and energy to one purpose: raising his voice against the atrocities committed against the Baloch people by Pakistani state. FORCIBLY DISAPPEARED On 27 August last year, Nazar Marri was forcibly disappeared by state agencies and CTD. He was dragged away like a criminal, despite being nothing more than a voice demanding justice. Since that day, his people have had no information about his whereabouts. ONE YEAR IN TORTURE CELLS For an entire year, Nazar has remained subjected to state brutality and torture. Yet despite the Pakistani state’s attempts to silence him, Nazar has not surrendered his stance or principles. He has endured the violence imposed upon him without abandoning his commitment to his people and their struggle for justice. 𝗦𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗹 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗸𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗷𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗞𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗯𝘆 𝗠𝗜 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝗻𝗶 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟯𝟬, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 — 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗱𝗶-𝗞𝗮𝘂𝗿, 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝗻𝗶, 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻 Sardil Sherkhan, a resident of Shadi-Kaur in Pasni, was forcibly disappeared on 22 November 2025, by Pakistan’s military intelligence (MI). He remained missing for approximately six months, during which his family had no information about his whereabouts and continued to wait for his return. On 30 May 2026, Sardil’s family received devastating news: his body was found dumped in a remote area. After six months of uncertainty and waiting, the family was left to mourn a loved one whose life had been taken, while many questions about his disappearance and death remain unanswered. A family that spent months waiting for a knock on the door and hoping to see their son return home instead received his dead body. Their grief is compounded by the absence of answers and accountability. Balochistan continues to face enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, target killings, and deaths in fake encounters. Families across the region continue to demand information about their missing loved ones, accountability for those responsible, and justice for those who have been killed. The case of Sardil Sherkhan must not be ignored. Independent and credible investigations are needed to establish the circumstances surrounding his disappearance, detention, and death, and to ensure that those responsible are held accountable. International human rights organisations and independent observers must pay greater attention to the situation in Balochistan. They should investigate enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings, document victims’ cases, and ensure that the voices of affected families are heard. Balochistan is witnessing a continuing human rights crisis. The world must not remain silent. Families deserve truth, justice, and accountability. #StopBalochGenocide

Highlighting the case of Nazar Marri, a Baloch youth, student and BYC member who has completed one year in enforced disappearance, Sami questioned the continued silence over his whereabouts and condition. The Commission has disposed of his case, claiming that his brother was responsible, while his family remains unaware of any such development. He also highlighted how families face closed doors: cases are not properly registered, FIRs are denied, and hundreds of cases are disposed of without satisfactory answers. When even the Commission fails to provide justice, where should families go? On 30 August, BYC will launch a media campaign to highlight enforced disappearances in Balochistan. Sami has urged victim families to record and share their stories and called on everyone to raise their voices, highlight these cases, and bring them before the world.
