Infatti, vedo in giro tante facce tristi, la gente scontenta che si lamenta ti tutto.
Invece a me, tutto mi piace, tutto mi appaga: il caldo e il freddo, il sole e la pioggia.

| 19 | «Lasciateli! Sono ciechi e guide di ciechi». Sono parole molto dure quelle che Gesù pronuncia nel Vangelo di oggi. Ma non sono rivolte contro la fragilità delle persone. Sono rivolte contro un modo sbagliato di vivere la responsabilità. Una guida che non vede non soltanto smarrisce la strada, ma trascina fuori strada anche coloro che si fidano di lei. Tutto nasce da un'affermazione che, in fondo, è molto semplice: «Non quello che entra nella bocca rende impuro l'uomo, ma quello che esce dalla bocca». Gesù sposta l'attenzione dall'esteriorità al cuore. Il vero problema non è l'osservanza formale di alcune regole, ma ciò che abita dentro di noi. Perché dalle parole escono i pensieri, dalle scelte emerge ciò che portiamo nel cuore, e proprio lì si decide la verità della nostra vita. È significativo allora che oggi la Chiesa celebri san Giovanni Maria Vianney, il Curato d'Ars. Egli rappresenta l'esatto contrario delle guide cieche denunciate da Gesù. Non era un uomo perfetto né un grande intellettuale, ma era un uomo che aveva lasciato Dio illuminare il proprio cuore. Per questo è diventato una guida capace di condurre gli altri non verso se stesso, ma verso il Signore. La sua vita ci ricorda che il mondo non ha bisogno semplicemente di persone competenti, ma di persone trasparenti. Non bastano guide preparate se manca un cuore convertito. Chi accompagna gli altri nella fede può farlo davvero soltanto se continua, per primo, a lasciarsi guidare da Dio. Questo vale in modo particolare per i sacerdoti, ma riguarda, in fondo, ogni cristiano. Ognuno di noi, in qualche misura, diventa un punto di riferimento per qualcuno: in famiglia, sul lavoro, tra gli amici, nella comunità. La domanda allora è inevitabile: sto conducendo gli altri verso Cristo o fuori strada? Per questo oggi è bello pregare per tutti i sacerdoti, perché il Signore doni alla Chiesa ministri santi, innamorati di Dio e totalmente dedicati al servizio del suo popolo. Dalla conversione di un prete dipende tanto il destino di un popolo a lui affidato. Pregate per noi!
