| 2 |  A Tennessee mother is being held without bond after police say she fatally shot a man who had been hiding under her 13-year-old daughter’s bed.
According to the arrest affidavit, the girl said she had invited the man inside and that he was gathering his things to leave when the shot was fired. The mother told officers, “I did what I had to do.”
She now faces first-degree murder and a firearm charge.

| 3 |  NEW: Flash flooding in Nogales is believed to have turned deadly as monsoon storms swept through Southern Arizona.
News Tucson obtained an email from Nogales Fire Chief Ken Larriva stating “two bodies were reported floating face down in the Nogales Wash.”

| 4 |  +2BREAKING: New ICE data dump reveals the agency has carried out 356,389 deportations so far in Fiscal Year 2026, which began October 1st. That averages out to roughly 1,260 per day. ICE currently has 65,765 people in ICE detention, 39,576 of whom (60%) have criminal convictions or pending criminal charges.
The data also confirms border czar Tom Homan's recent statements that June saw a record setting number of immigration arrests with 43,138 arrests, which is higher than January and February when the surge in Minnesota was in effect. July is on pace to potentially break the June record, Bill Melugin reports.

Rand Paul, the Chairman of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, has just released internal federal documents which he says show that the FBI intervened and stopped CBP from searching and questioning Peter Daszak upon his return to the US from China at JFK airport in 2021 during the WHO's investigation into the origins of the COVID-19 scamdemic.
The documents show that CBP's National Targeting Center had flagged Daszak, President of EcoHealth Alliance, as an "extremely high person of interest" ahead of his arrival in the US, citing his more than 15 years of collaboration with the Wuhan Institute of Virology and his role as principal investigator on NIH grants funding bat coronavirus research in China, and that "much of the funding DASZAK receives is put towards gain of function research."
The documents reveal that CBP had a series of questions they planned to ask Daszak when he landed and were going to search his media, until they were told to stand down by the FBI, Bill Melugin reports.
In an email dated 2/4/2021, a CBP official notifies others within CBP:
"Please be advised that FBI New York has requested we do not stop the subject below."
Chairman Paul says as a result, the stop, search, and questioning of Daszak never happened.

ZERO meaningful solutions, only $32 billion stolen from taxpayers in the name of helping solve the Homeless problem and the only results are Gavin Newsom getting a new $9 million vacation home !! corrupt Karen Bas just talks with no real results. She’s too busy on vacations to do her job whenever there’s an emergency !!! We need real results not more billions wasted taxpayer dollars, and leadership that seems disconnected from the reality on our streets.
And once again, another tragedy.
A man was shot and killed in Santa Monica overnight. As of 7:00 a.m., police were still securing the scene and covering the victim while detectives searched for the suspect.
Another death. Another crime scene. Another family forever changed.
How much more are we willing to accept before real public safety becomes a priority?

Evacuation orders were issued Monday for a fire that started last week in Yuba County. The Chute Fire started July 13 at the Chute Ravine near Dobbins, Cal Fire said. For days, it appeared that crews were getting a handle on gaining control of the fire and fully extinguishing it. However, AlertCalifornia cameras show smoke in the area. Cal Fire's incident page showed multiple aircraft in the area, including an air tanker.

| 13 |  Why the coverup??? A caregiver was caught on camera rifling through a 95-year-old woman’s private documents and jewelry while she lay in bed nearby.
Security footage from the Murrieta home shows the woman, employed by Right at Home in Temecula, wearing rubber gloves as she opened desk drawers and photographed tax records, Social Security information, bank statements, and investment files with her phone.
The family says she also took the elderly woman’s wedding ring.
The 95-year-old can be heard asking for help. The caregiver continued searching.
Granddaughter Alicia Speck reported the incident. The company fired the employee and notified Adult Protective Services. This was not the first time a caregiver had stolen from the same grandmother, according to reports.
Now time for the plot twist: Christina Berg.
That is the name used in the original tweet and circulating in local Facebook groups and social media posts about the incident.
Official KTLA reporting deliberately did not name her. The station blurred her face in the security footage and stated they were withholding her identity because she had not been arrested at the time of their story.
Riverside County Sheriff’s Office confirmed they were still investigating and needed additional evidence before any arrest could be made.
Gotta protect the innocent "suspect", right? Maybe she was just looking for a piece of cake and this whole thing is a misunderstanding.

| 14 |  +1🇺🇸 The U.S. military has identified the two soldiers killed in Friday’s Iranian missile and drone attack on a base in Jordan.
The fallen service members are 1st Lt. Tyler James Feehan, 25, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, and Pvt. Isabella Gonzales, 19, of Carrollton, Texas. Officials say both were supporting operations against ISIS when the attack occurred. Another U.S. service member remains missing as the search continues.
