BREAKING OVERNIGHT: Seminole County Sheriff's Office [Florida] detectives are now investigating a shooting where 10 people were injured at a Sanford event venue. Ten people suffered non-life threatening gunshot wounds, primarily to their lower extremities. Officials said an argument escalated, eventually leading to the gunshots. A security guard was able to apprehend the suspected gunman after the shooting. Deputies said the suspect, a 16-year-old, was booked into the Juvenile Detention Center.

Smith now faces a litany of criminal charges including battery resulting in serious bodily harm, assaulting a school pupil on school property, threatening to do bodily harm to public school student, and interfering with a student from attending school, according to court records. NEW: Thirty-five rail cars of a train derailed in New Mexico Friday afternoon, prompting evacuations and forcing a 50-mile stretch of Interstate 40 to close. McKinley County Fire & Rescue was dispatched around 12:40 p.m. Friday after the train derailed and caught fire off Interstate 40 near the state line. Six of the derailed train cars were carrying propane, according to BNSF Railway.
