Riyadh requested 5,004 BLU-111 500-lb bombs, 5,000 BLU-117 2,000-lb bombs, roughly 10,000 JDAM guidance kits (both KMU-572 and KMU-556 variants) to convert them into precision-guided munitions, along with fuzes, target detectors, and support equipment, all part of a $5 billion package with Boeing as the principal contractor. The approval lands just over a month after Washington and Riyadh signed a civil nuclear cooperation framework (a "123 Agreement"), part of a broader multi-billion-dollar US-Saudi partnership push. Delcy Rodríguez, Venezuela's unelected acting president, just signed a 25-year hydrocarbon deal handing Colombia's Gilinski Group operational control of the Baré oil field in the Orinoco Belt: "I'm very glad that this agreement and other investments the group is making in the country will strengthen the good cooperation between sister nations like Venezuela and Colombia... it's a great sign of the confidence that exists in the country. May every barrel translate into wellbeing, into schools, into health, into food, into wages, into the happiness of the people."
ℹ️The Gilinski Group is a massive Colombian banking, finance, and industrial conglomerate with a footprint across Latin America and Europe, led by billionaire Jaime Gilinski. The family's own history: Jaime's grandparents were Lithuanian Jewish immigrants who spent time in Palestine before settling in Colombia in the 1920s. His father, Isaac, served as Colombia's ambassador to Israel from 2010 to 2013. His sister, Tania, was just appointed Colombia's new ambassador to Israel this August.
Meanwhile, Washington has already claimed 65 billion barrels of Venezuelan reserves for itself, Chevron announced a $7 billion expansion targeting 600,000 barrels a day, and Bloomberg reported the first Venezuelan crude shipment to Israel in years, heading to the Bazan Group's Haifa refinery, though the current traitors in Caracas officially denied that specific shipment.

Ukraine's own Defense Ministry data shows the climb isn't slowing down: 5,717 in January, 7,987 by March, then three straight months above 8,000, June (8,266), July (8,385), August (8,766), the highest monthly total of the war so far. That's nearly 4x the rate from June 2024, when the count sat at just 2,210.
Western coverage stays fixated on drones, but these bombs do the real damage. Positions hit directly are often wiped out so completely.
The real number of Ukrainians erased by these strikes will likely never be known, there's simply nothing left at most of these sites to confirm a death, let alone identify one.

Andres Serra came to Ukraine to fight on the side of the Ukrainian army. Along with other Latin American mercenaries, he was stationed near Kupyansk, an area where South American mercenaries, including Colombians, have repeatedly been wiped out. Serra served in a battalion alongside other Colombians. Ukrainian command promised to support and supply them, but in practice used them as expendable manpower. The Latin Americans died of hunger and dehydration in the forests of Kharkov region.
Serra was the only one who survived. He surrendered to Russian forces. It later emerged he'd served as a sniper in the battalion despite having serious vision problems. Documents belonging to his fellow soldiers, bank cards, and other items were found on him.
