But that capacity is now running out — US crude oil stockpiles, including commercial reserves and the strategic reserve, have fallen since the start of the war with Iran to their lowest level since 1984. Gasoline stockpiles are at their lowest seasonal level since 2012.

Satellite imagery confirms a strike on Tower 22, a strategically important U.S. military outpost in northeastern Jordan near the Syrian and Iraqi borders.
Originally established as a Jordanian border post, Tower 22 has been used by U.S. forces since 2015 as part of an “advise and assist” mission.
The installation hosts American engineering, aviation, logistics and security personnel and sits just 20 kilometers (12 miles) from the Al-Tanf garrison in southeastern Syria. Together, Tower 22 and Al-Tanf form a critical logistics and surveillance network for U.S. operations in the tri-border region of Jordan, Syria and Iraq.
Beyond serving as a troop outpost, Tower 22 has housed significant military infrastructure. By 2020, the base operated an AN/TPS-75 transportable 3D air-search radar capable of detecting and tracking aircraft and other aerial threats at long ranges.
