I held a meeting regarding our policy towards Poland. The priorities are clear: everyone in Europe needs good-neighborly, equal, and mutually beneficial relationships built on respect. Poland has significantly supported Ukraine since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, and we are grateful to Poland. Protecting Ukraine's independence directly strengthens Poland's independence, and the security challenges facing Europe today can only be resolved through cooperation, particularly through cooperation between the free nations of our region. I thank the participants of the meeting for their initiative and proposals.
We agreed on several key points. First, there will be decisions made on the diplomatic front. Second, all archives of the Security Service of Ukraine and the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine regarding the tragic events of the 20th century in Volyn will be made accessible. Third, we will make decisions to provide a significant increase in permits for search and exhumation work, and together with the Polish side, we must ensure greater capacity for conducting such work. Fourth, we discussed possible formats for expanding dialogue between Ukrainian and Polish societies. Fifth, we agreed with Alexander Alfyorov, the head of the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance, to expand the institute's capabilities. Alexander will prepare and present systematic proposals, and I ask the relevant government officials and the relevant committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to consider the possibility of increasing the financial and other support for the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance. Appropriate capabilities are needed to properly represent Ukrainian interests. Thank you to everyone who works for the benefit of our state and our people!
