| 2 | 🗣🇨🇳 China moving ‘faster and more effectively’ in AI - Lavrov
The US sees China as its main rival, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told Russian media.
He points to China’s discipline helping it move “faster and more effectively” in AI, and contrasts its open cooperation with US-led Pax Silica, designed to keep partners “under their umbrella”
And it is not just about selling technology, notes the top diplomat, but about “the imposition of technologies for the long term.”

| 4 | 🇺🇸🇮🇷 US doubles down on failed policy of arm-twisting Iran economically
When G20 finance ministers and central bank chiefs gather in North Carolina next week, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent plans to push a broad agenda: stronger growth, more resilient supply chains, lower global imbalances and action on mounting sovereign debt.
👉 However, behind the official narrative lies a political demand - the US wants the G20 to help squeeze Iran, Reuters cites a senior Treasury official as saying.
Bessent will reportedly deliver a "strong statement" to G20 officials, warning that countries maintaining business ties with Iran could face secondary US sanctions.
🔊 In every bilateral meeting with his G20 counterparts, Bessent would allegedly be maintaining that “they must adhere to the US sanctions campaign against Iran if they want to continue to do business in the dollar-based, Western financial system.”
What the Treasury official describes as "a critical aspect right now of our economic campaign against Iran" is in fact an admission of strategic bankruptcy.
🪖 The US has exhausted its military options against a resilient Iran and is now resorting to economic warfare.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei recently mocked Washington’s effort to cobble together a global coalition against Iran, saying the US was “sanctioning the already sanctioned and calling the empty space a coalition.”

| 5 | 🗣🇺🇸🇮🇱 Lavrov: US-Israeli attack may have strengthened Iran’s nuclear pivot
Besides the Strait of Hormuz, which was fully open before the US-Israeli aggression, one major fallout is that voices in Iran arguing that only nuclear weapons can prevent repeated attacks have gained strength, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov tells Russian media.
That view was marginal under now-eliminated Iranian officials, he says.
As for Trump's 'no one left to talk to' claim, Lavrov reminds: “They have killed everyone.”

| 6 | 🗣🇬🇧 ‘Britain’s role in Ukraine conflict the most negative towards Russia’ – Lavrov
The UK's posture has been one of enduring hostility towards Russia - just as it has been over the centuries, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov tells RBC television channel.
💬 “Toward Russia, that is certainly true," he notes.
Acknowledging the wartime alliance during World War II, Lavrov concedes that Lend-Lease and the northern convoys "helped enormously," but behind the scenes, Britain and the US were already preparing ‘Operation Unthinkable’ for a massive attack on the Soviet Union.
🔊 “We do not forget the period of alliance. But if it was only a situational alliance on the part of our brothers-in-arms in the Second World War - then it evaporated very quickly," he says.

| 8 | 🗣🇷🇺 Multipolar world is a definitive reality - Lavrov
“In geopolitical and geoeconomic terms, giants such as China, India and Brazil are raising their heads and very rapidly strengthening their economic positions,” Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov tells RBC television channel.
The most tectonic shift, he argues, is happening in Africa, which is finally breaking from the neo-colonial model of exporting raw materials and adding value in Europe.

| 10 | 🚨🇷🇺🇺🇸 Lavrov on CIA Chief’s talks in Moscow: Russian, US security services working in silence
💬 "I wasn't there. We, like the rest of the world, have rules governing how security services interact. There's nothing unusual about that. And there's nothing unusual about them working in silence," Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in an interview with the RBC television channel.
Ratcliffe visited Moscow on August 25. The visit was related to contacts between security services, and Russian President Vladimir Putin was briefed on the meetings, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
Director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) Sergey Naryshkin later told reporters that issues within the competence of intelligence services were discussed with Ratcliffe.

Admiral Brad Cooper said 50,000 troops are participating in US operations in the Middle East.

"Internationally recognized transit routes are free of Iranian sea mines," he stated.
Prior to the war, 20 million barrels of oil crossed the Strait of Hormuz daily.

| 13 | 🇵🇸🔊 Israel has 'crossed the Rubicon' on annexation — Palestine's UN envoy
Riyad Mansour told the UN Security Council that Israel's E1 settlement plan effectively divides the West Bank in two — a "full-blown annexation" that represents an act of war.
"Annexation is an attack against our sovereignty and territorial integrity. It is an act of war against our state and our people. It is the ultimate breach of the UN Charter," he stated.
Arab-Islamic Coalition of 8 countries, as well as several Western and European powers have strongly condemned Israel's plan.

| 14 | 📉 Patriot missile stocks in Europe are 'beyond critical' after Iran war — report
The US military is facing a severe shortage of advanced missile interceptors in Europe, largely due to Trump's war with Iran, according to a report by the Associated Press, citing US and NATO officials.
A US official stated that the limited number of Patriot missiles would "definitely" be unable to stop a sustained ballistic missile attack.
Patriot interceptors have been moved from Europe to the Middle East to counter Iranian drones and missiles. CSIS estimates the US has burned through half its prewar interceptor stocks.

An end to the wars across various parts of West Asia, particularly in Lebanon, is one of Iran's non‑negotiable terms for a deal with the US, the Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council declared.
"West Asia is like an interconnected chain. When security is disrupted in any region, it affects all other countries as well," Mohsen Rezaei said.

| 17 | ⚔️ IDF says it killed two Hamas commanders in Gaza
The Israeli military claims to have eliminated two Hamas commanders in separate strikes today: one in Gaza City's Shati refugee camp and the other in Khan Younis.
◼️ Bilal Ibrahim Saleh Raqi'i — commander in Hamas's anti-tank unit, killed in Shati camp
◼️ Azzam Rifaat Abd Abadala — served in Hamas's Khan Younis Brigade, killed in Khan Younis
Despite the ceasefire, the IDF justifies the strikes, accusing the men of advancing attacks and restoring Hamas capabilities.

| 19 | ✍️ Trump renames Lake Ontario to 'Lake America'
The president signed an executive order making official the transition to "Lake America."
The Canadian PM recalled that the lake's name has over 4 centuries of history, predating both the Canadian Confederation and the US Declaration of Independence.
"Canadians know that naming reality means calling it Lake Ontario – then, now and always," Mark Carney wrote on X.
Lake Ontario is part of the Great Lakes system and is shared by the United States and Canada. Its shores are bordered by the US state of New York and the Canadian province of Ontario.
