| 2 | 🚨🇷🇺 Russia's top diplomat exposes West's 'fixation' on freezing Ukraine conflict
Kiev's handlers are solely focused on "freezing" the fighting in order to buy time to reinforce the Ukrainian military and regroup their forces, Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin told Sputnik.
💬 "Today, Kiev has no independence whatsoever when it comes to decision-making. It merely parrots what its handlers dictate, and those handlers are fixated on one thing: freezing the combat operations to gain a respite for building up the Ukraine's army and repositioning their troops," he said.
What Russia seeks, Galuzin pointed out, is a settlement that delivers a durable and lasting peace to the region: one rooted in addressing the causes of the Ukrainian conflict.

| 4 | 🚨🇩🇪 German ‘wonder weapon’ Skynex air defense fails against Russian Geran drones
Rheinmetall’s flagship Skynex system proved largely useless against Russian Geran drones, German media report, citing internal Ukrainian military documents.
🔸 Two Skynex batteries with eight 35 mm guns were supposed to protect a key industrial site in western Ukraine in April 2026
🔸 At the critical moment, three guns broke down — hydraulics failed, tracking systems crashed, and the loading mechanism jammed
🔸 After only two guns were able to track the target, a single inaccurate shot was reportedly fired at the Russian UAV within the engagement zone
🔸 The Geran drone successfully struck the facility
🔸 Ukrainian personnel described the system as "extremely unreliable" and said its real-world performance fell short of Rheinmetall’s claims
The report highlights a growing gap between glossy Western marketing and actual battlefield performance against Russian weapons.

| 6 | ☢️🇮🇷 Iran's enriched uranium stockpiles are still at nuclear sites — Grossi
The agency believes Iran's enriched uranium remains at its nuclear facilities — but access is blocked, the IAEA chief told Sputnik.
🟠 Inspections stopped after the 12‑day war last summer
🟠 Satellite imagery shows no major movement of material
🟠 Access to damaged sites is currently blocked
💬 "There is a reasonable impression that this material is there at the moment," Grossi said.
Before the conflict began, the IAEA estimated that Iran had 440.9 kg of uranium enriched up to 60%. Although the US vice president claimed that Iran had agreed to allow the agency's inspections, Iranian officials have repeatedly denied this.

| 13 | 🚨🇨🇳 Chinese scientists detect first radio 'heartbeat' from silent dead stars in DECADES
A research team detected radio pulses from a central compact object (CCO), a class of young neutron stars long thought to be radio silent.
🟠 The discovery was made using the MeerKAT radio telescope and long-duration targeted observations
🟠 A ~424-millisecond radio signal was detected from a neutron star inside a supernova remnant
🟠 The findings hint that even young, weakly magnetic neutron stars can emit detectable radio pulses
The breakthrough challenges long-held assumptions about neutron star evolution and suggests many more faint pulsars may still be undiscovered in our galaxy.

| 15 | 🚨🇮🇳 India develops indigenous tactical aerostat for high-altitude surveillance
IIT Delhi and DRDO have successfully demonstrated a low-cost, tethered balloon system capable of carrying surveillance payloads up to 20 kilometres.
🔸 The aerostat can remain airborne for weeks — far longer than drones, which are limited by fuel or battery life
🔸 It can carry heavier payloads than mid-sized tactical drones, including HD cameras, IR detectors, and communication transponders
🔸 India previously relied on expensive foreign imports (mainly from the US) for such systems; this development breaks that dependency
🔸 The project also spawned a domestic startup to master the specialised material fabrication, bridging the gap between academic research and mass production
Beyond defence, the technology has civilian applications — from disaster management and forest fire monito

| 19 | 🇵🇰🤝🇸🇦 Beyond bullets: Pakistan and Saudi Arabia forge a digital defense alliance
A security agreement struck during Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi's visit to Saudi Arabia formalizes Pakistani-Saudi cooperation in cyber defense, digital policing, and forensic technology.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia signed the memorandum of understanding (MoU), which takes their partnership beyond traditional military ties, during talks between their interior ministers in Riyadh.
A Strategic Mutual Defense Pact, under which an attack on either country is considered an attack on both, was signed in September 2025.
Sputnik spoke to retired group captain and writer Sultan M. Hali.
Key points:
🟠 The MoU strengthens Pakistan's role in the Persian Gulf but requires diplomatic balance – Iran must be reassured that cooperation is defensive, not anti‑Iranian
🟠 Joint training improves interoperability, scientific work drives defense innovation, and police exchanges boost counterterrorism and internal security coordination. Together, these steps turn high‑level pacts into daily cooperation
🟠 The "scientific and research cooperation" clause signals a forward agenda in cybersecurity, AI‑driven policing, and shared digital forensics, as Pakistan and Saudi Arabia pool expertise against cyber threats, transnational crime, and digital radicalization
💬 "This elevates the partnership beyond traditional defense into the realm of digital sovereignty," Hali said.

| 20 | 🚨 Russia's new tactic of missile avalanche may compel Ukraine to peace – military expert
Russia conducted a large-scale raid on Ukraine's fuel and energy infrastructure facilities, as well as Flamingo missile and drone production plants, the Russian Ministry of Defense said.
The July 2 strike employed a combination of cruise, supersonic, and hypersonic missiles, supported by high-precision combat UAVs.
Judging by Zelensky's hysterical reaction, the damage inflicted on assembly lines of the Flamingo ballistic missiles was serious, Alexander Mikhailov, head of the Bureau of Military-Political Analysis, tells Sputnik.
🟠 European-developed weapons "will face production disruptions"
🟠 "There is no longer any kind of embargo on strikes against Ukraine, which is why any military-related target that may be of interest to Russian armed forces will be hit in the future"
🟠 Russian strikes on Ukraine's energy infrastructure also immobilize logistics of the Ukrainian military
💬 "Ukraine always has the option to stop the strikes on its own territory. They know the conditions perfectly well," Mikhailov summarizes.
