▫️FBI labels Texas extremist group as national security threat, seeks info on suspect with Plano ties
DALLAS - The FBI and the Department of Justice have labeled a Texas-based extremist group as a national security threat.
The 764 extremist group was started in Stephenville, Texas in 2021 by a 15-year-old. It's named after the zip code of the city it's based in. That teen founder, now an adult, is serving an 80-year prison sentence for child pornography.
The FBI and the Department of Justice have labeled the group as a national security threat. The FBI has asked law enforcement to post its open letter about the group to raise awareness of the threat it presents.
The FBI is offering $25,000 for information that leads to the arrest of Austin Yatco, who they say has longstanding ties to Plano. Yatco is wanted for his alleged involvement in the exploitation of minor victims between 2019 and 2021, as part of an online group whose members carried out the alleged criminal conduct on a series of gaming and social media platforms. Yatco and the group allegedly coerced minor victims into creating child pornography of themselves and then distributed it among the group and to others.

▫️‘Widespread’ online exploitation of kids being carried out by terrorist group 764
After West Shore RCMP announced three kids in their region had been targeted for sexual exploitation by the “violent” online group called 764, outreach workers say the numbers are likely much higher.
Last December, Canada was the first country to list the 764 network as a terrorist entity. They define the group as “a decentralized transnational network of online nihilistic violent extremists”. The extremist network is active on popular gaming and social platforms like Roblox, Minecraft, and Twitch. There, they befriend minors before typically taking them over to an encrypted messaging app like Discord or Telegram, where the abuse begins.

▫️ALERT Edmonton shares photo of child sex abuse victim's shirt in effort to ID girl
Edmonton authorities are hoping an old image of a child in a purple shirt emblazoned with an innocent illustration will help identify the unknown female sexual assault victim.
The child’s shirt appears to have been commercially produced, so there could be a number of children who wore the design — but whoever wore that particular shirt depicting SLEEPOVER WITH MY BFF’S and three cool-looking kittens would be in their mid-teens now, say investigators with the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT).
ALERT’s Internet Child Exploitation unit (ICE) in October 2025 charged a man after a forensic analysis of computers and electronic devices were seized from his Edmonton home. Among the charges: sexual assault, sexual interference; transmits, make available, and distributes child sexual abuse materials; make, print, publish, and distribute obscene material; and bestiality.

▫️Pennsylvania lawmakers look to revise Megan's Law to include juvenile sex offenders
Megan’s Law is a federal law that allows the public to have access to the whereabouts of registered sex offenders. However, since 2012 in Pennsylvania, that hasn’t applied to juvenile offenders.
Several state lawmakers from Westmoreland County gathered Thursday to express their desire to change that. "We are just getting the word out to let people know that there are gaps," said Rep. Eric Nelson, R-Hempfield Township. "The key that we’re identifying here is that there’s a gap in Megan’s Law and communities are not being notified."

▫️Guatemalan Human Smugglers Admit to Roles in 2021 Mass Casualty Event in Chiapas, Mexico
Two foreign nationals have pleaded guilty to human smuggling charges related to the crash of a tractor-trailer packed with at least 160 illegal aliens which resulted in the deaths of more than 50 people, including unaccompanied children, and injured over 100 more.
Josefa Quino Canil De Zavala, 43, and Alberto Marcario Chitic, 32, both of Guatemala, acknowledged that they conspired with other smugglers to transport illegal aliens, both adults and unaccompanied minors, from Guatemala through Mexico to the United States. During the conspiracy, on Dec. 9, 2021, Canil De Zavala, Chitic and others arranged for the aliens they were smuggling to the United States to be loaded into a tractor trailer that was to transport them through Mexico. The vehicle ultimately crashed north of the Guatemala/Mexico border near Tuxtla Guiterrez, Chiapas, Mexico, resulting in deaths and serious bodily injury.
To date, JTFA’s work has resulted in more than 458 domestic and international arrests of leaders, organizers, and significant facilitators of alien smuggling and/or trafficking; more than 408 U.S. convictions; more than 357 significant jail sentences imposed, and forfeitures of substantial assets.

▫️2 women arrested, 7 minors rescued in anti-online child exploitation operations
Two women were arrested and seven minors were rescued in separate operations against online sexual abuse and exploitation of children conducted by the Philippine National Police in Zamboanga City and Norzagaray, Bulacan from June 2 to 4, 2026.
In the June 2 operation, personnel from the PNP Women and Children Protection Center (WCPC) Mindanao Field Unit served a Warrant to Search, Seize and Examine Computer Data in Zamboanga City, leading to the arrest of a 27-year-old woman and the rescue of three female minors and one child at risk.
Police said the operation stemmed from a referral involving suspicious online content flagged by a partner organization. An investigation allegedly uncovered the production and distribution of child sexual abuse or exploitation materials (CSAEM) for foreign clients in exchange for money.
In a separate operation on June 4, the WCPC Anti-Trafficking in Persons Division arrested a 43-year-old woman in Norzagaray, Bulacan, and rescued three boys aged 11 to 16.

▫️Outcry in Indonesia after alleged abuse of toddlers in daycare
YOGYAKARTA, Indonesia, June 11 (Reuters) - When Aldewa Anjasmara Halip's three-year-old daughter cried hysterically every time she was due to attend a daycare centre in Indonesia's cultural capital of Yogyakarta, he thought the toddler simply wanted to stay at home and play.
But the police say the little girl was one of dozens of children aged 2 to 6 years old who were physically abused at the Little Aresha daycare centre. The police found most of more than 100 children enrolled at the centre with their hands and feet tied up when they raided it in April, the head of child protection at Yogyakarta's police criminal investigation unit, Apri Sawitri, said in an interview with Reuters. Some were tethered to doors, she said.
Authorities arrested 13 carers in late April on suspicion of child abuse and neglect, sparking a public outcry and calls for stronger government oversight of the emerging child daycare sector. The police also said the centre had been operating without required licences.

▫️School told to find and exhume graves ahead of planned development
A Tasmanian historical group says allowing a Catholic school to build new facilities over a former cemetery is "an injustice" and could lead to the remains of settlers being dug up.
The Our Lady of Mercy Catholic School in Deloraine, in the state's north, was declared "not a cemetery" last month by the Office of Local Government. That declaration came even though at least 355 people were buried between 1861 and 1936 on the land now occupied by the school. The ruling means the Catholic Church can apply to develop new facilities, as long as it first makes efforts to find, exhume and relocate human remains.

▫️Victoria to ban accused sex offenders from accessing victim counselling notes
The Victorian Government has announced sweeping new laws to ban alleged pedophiles and sex offenders from being able to access the confidential sexual assault counselling notes of their alleged victims.
In March, news.com.au exclusively launched the #KeepCounsellingConfidential campaign, after a bombshell Freedom of Information investigation revealed that alleged sex offenders are routinely using subpoenas to probe for the confidential counselling files of their victims.

▫️Notorious pedophile loses bid to reduce sentence
The family of a girl assaulted by one of Australia’s worst pedophiles hopes interstate victims receive justice soon after an appeal by the notorious predator failed.
Ashley Paul Griffith, 48, may be extradited to NSW to face almost 200 child sexual offences after his bid to reduce a life sentence for years of childcare centre assaults was dismissed.
Griffith’s lawyers had argued the 27‑year non‑parole period he was handed for 307 offences committed on 69 young children over almost 20 years was ”manifestly excessive”.
One of his victims bravely attended Brisbane’s Court of Appeal on Friday to see Justice David Boddice hand down the decision to dismiss the appeal during a brief sitting.
