▫️American national linked in human trafficking, child abuse nabbed, four rescued
DAVAO CITY- Operatives from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) regional office 11 arrested Thursday afternoon (June 27) a 34-year-old American national allegedly involved in human trafficking and child abuse.
The suspect, whose true identity has yet to be known, was apprehended following the operation launched by NBI at a hotel inside Crocodile Park, Maa, this city. Four young women who were with the suspect during the arrest were also rescued.
NBI 11 agent Vicente Essex Minguez in a press conference said they received information from the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT) about the foreigner accompanying four teenagers at the hotel.

▫️Purcellville man sentenced for paying Philippine sex trafficker to sexually abuse children on live webcams
ALEXANDRIA, Va. – A Purcellville man was sentenced today to 20 years in prison for his sexual exploitation of five children and his receipt and possession of thousands of images and videos depicting child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
According to court documents, Raymond Lee Chavez, 70, was a consultant on issues related to climate change and served international clients, including the United Nations. Between April 2017 and April 2022, Chavez purchased at least 15 livestreaming webcam shows involving the sexual abuse and exploitation of five prepubescent children from child sex traffickers based in the Philippines. Chavez recorded segments of several livestreams with his cell phone and saved the videos to his external hard drives.

ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR – Fifteen persons, including a 14 year old boy and a senior citizen, were rescued by the local anti-human trafficking body in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi before they could board a vessel to Sarawak and Sabah, Malaysia, where they could become an easy prey for human trafficking, officials said.

THE National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has confirmed that Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo is one and the same person as Guo Hua Ping, Senator Risa Hontiveros said Thursday, June 27, 2024.
In a statement, Hontiveros said Guo’s fingerprints, according to the NBI, matched with that of Guo Hua Ping.
“Indeed, the NBI has confirmed that the fingerprints of Mayor Alice Guo and Guo Hua Ping match. Ibig sabihin, they are the fingerprints of one [and] the same person,” she said.
“This confirms what I have suspected all along. Pekeng Pilipino si ‘Mayor Alice’ — or should I say, Guo Hua Ping. She is a Chinese national masquerading as Filipino citizen to facilitate crimes being committed by POGO (Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators),” she added.

THE Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) has arrested a Chinese national who served as a “big boss” in the raided illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (Pogo) in Porac, Pampanga.
In a press conference, CIDG Director Major General Leo Francisco said on Thursday evening, June 27, 2024, that they conducted a raid through the service of a search warrant covering five villas at the Fontana Leisure Resort and Casino in Mabalacat, Pampanga.
He said this stemmed from information that several individuals, particularly Chinese nationals who escaped from the raid in Lucky South 99 Corporation, were hiding in the said resort.

Boston police are looking to identify a person connected to a sexual assault on a child in Dorchester earlier this month.
The Boston Police Department released an image of a man who, police said, is connected to an indecent assault and battery on a child that happened around 7 a.m. on June 6. The incident took place near Wainwright and Centre Streets in Dorchester, police said.
The man is described as mustached, light-skinned, possibly in his 30s, with a medium build and short brown hair.

STEUBEN COUNTY, INDIANA – Authorities in Steuben County are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a registered sex offender who allegedly failed to report an address change.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A Tennessee city is facing a third lawsuit claiming its police refused to conduct proper investigations into allegations that a man was sexually assaulting multiple women for years. The newest plaintiff has said the man drugged her and pushed her out of his fifth-story apartment window in 2020, breaking bones throughout her body.
Mikayla Evans sued several Johnson City Police officers and the city last week in federal court over the handling of her case involving Sean Williams. Two ongoing federal lawsuits similarly claim police did little to investigate while Williams - who is now in custody on state and federal criminal charges - was accused of drugging and raping women in the East Tennessee community from 2018 to 2021.

CLERMONT COUNTY, Ohio — A Clermont County mother and father are accused of torturing and cruelly abusing their five adopted children, the county's prosecuting attorney said in a release.
During a court hearing for Matthew on Wednesday, prosecutors said the five kids were kept in a "dungeon" when they were punished.
Officials said the couple, identified as mother Matthew and father Charles Robert Edmonson of Batavia, first took in five biological brothers as foster children.
Matthew Robert Edmonson and Charles Robert Edmonson face five felony counts. Clermont County, Ohio Prosecuting Attorney Mark Tekulve said the Edmonsons treated the biological siblings they adopted worse than "prisoners of war." James Madison-Crawford, 30, pled guilty of human trafficking of a minor for commercial sexual activity, accepting earnings from prostitution, transporting a person for the purpose of prostitution, conducting a criminal enterprise, third-degree sexual conduct, assault by strangulation and assault with a dangerous weapon.
Madison-Crawford is currently serving a sentence for accepting earnings from prostitution.
Officials said in 2017, Madison-Crawford created an online account offering sex with a minor and facilitated "dates" with the minor. He also forced her to participate in sex acts with him and threatened her to make her perform those acts.

▫️Foster mother and man accused of confining and abusing kids in southern Indiana
HENDERSON, Ky – Two people are arrested following a child abuse investigation in Newburgh.
Detectives were able to identify Thomas Burch, 37, and Nina Shepherd, 28, as suspects. Officials say Shepherd is a foster mother.
According to an affidavit, multiple children inside the home said they were locked inside of a laundry room closet with no light when they were in trouble, and some said Shepherd used a belt to hit them. During a search of the home, authorities say Burch was found with a six-month old the two had agreed to watch for someone they could only contact via Facebook.
The sheriff's office says all of the kids were quickly removed from the home, and that arrest warrants were issued for Burch and Shepherd after charges were filed in court. Burch is facing three felony counts of Criminal Confinement, and Shepherd faces three counts of domestic battery on children and three counts of neglect.

ROBERTSDALE, Ala. — A Robertsdale couple were arrested Thursday evening on aggravated child abuse charges and are currently being held without bond.
William and Kelsey Brewer are each charged with one count of aggravated child abuse, a class B felony.

Avantae Deven was arrested and charged with murder on Wednesday in connection with the years-long disappearances of Blake and London Deven.
Authorities revealed disturbing details that underscored brutal living conditions and indicated children in Avantae Deven's care were isolated, starved and beaten. Avantae Deven was charged with two counts of first-degree murder, one count of kidnapping, two counts of concealment of death and two counts of felony child abuse.

▫️Mother and children endure ordeal of brutal beatings and confinement
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. — Four people are accused of beating a woman and her children repeatedly over a year and a half.
Authorities in Johnstown, Pennsylvania arrested Nellie and Charlie Crouse, along with Jeffrey Blystone for allegedly terrorizing a woman and her children.
The victim said she endured brutal beatings that included being hit with boards and her hair being pulled out in chunks, according to the criminal complaint.
Those documents said her three children between the ages of 7 and 11, were also victims of similar beatings that included being hit with boards and punched in the face.

BOSTON — A former Boston Public Schools employee has been indicted on 30 counts, including child sex trafficking and aggravated child rape, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office.
John Jamar Cokley, 38, of Boston, was charged with seven counts of sex trafficking of a child, five counts of aggravated rape of a child, one count of rape of a child by force, three counts of posing a child in a state of nudity, four counts of posing a child in a state of sexual conduct, four counts of enticing a child under 18 into commercial sex, two counts of inducing a minor to sell a controlled substance, one count of dissemination of harmful matter to a minor, possession of child pornography and purchasing child pornography.

▫️Enid man arrested in OKC on human trafficking complaint
ENID, Okla. — An Enid man accused of human trafficking has been arrested in Oklahoma City.
According to online court records, an arrest warrant for Carey Lee Holt, 38, was issued in McClain County on complaints of human trafficking, procuring of prostitution, violation of Oklahoma statues via computer and pandering.
“An individual responsible for trafficking multiple victims in multiple states is now behind bars,” OBN spokesman Mark Woodward said in the news release.
The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics (OBN) conducted a human trafficking recovery operation in McClain County in February.
The victim's testimony and evidence from the investigation revealed Carey Lee Holt of Enid used violence and coercion to traffic several women in Oklahoma and other states, according to OBN Spokesman Mark Woodward.
