The traditional practice of carrying goods on the head is a distinctive aspect of Myanmar’s way of life and cultural heritage, long associated with vendors in both rural communities and urban markets. To carry goods this way, a piece of cloth is folded into a circular ring, known as a khway, and placed on the head to support a tray or basket. The practice requires balance and coordination, with the carrier maintaining an upright posture and walking in a steady, rhythmic manner.
