A large block of ice was placed inside a white water filter attached to iron rings on a pole set atop the container; as the ice melted and dripped down drop by drop, they collected the water in plastic cups underneath to sell.

| 15 | Kengtung Haw Namm (1906–1991)
The two-story palace featured a grand audience hall on the upper floor, housing a gilded, glass-inlaid throne alongside royal golden couches and recliner beds. Inspired by the lavish palaces of Indian Maharajas he witnessed during his trip to the 1903 Delhi Durbar, Sawbwa Sao Kawng Kiao Intaleng commissioned Indian architects to design and construct the residence.
