The verses of the Quran recited in the presence of the representatives of each delegation were as follows:
Saudi Arabia: A verse about two armies facing one another in battle—one of believers and one of disbelievers.
Turkey: A verse that elevates those who fight in the path of God above those who remain "seated."
Lebanese state: A verse about individuals who, when called upon, refuse to make sacrifices.
Hezbollah: They were told, "Do not weaken or grieve, for you are the superior ones."
Hamas: A verse honoring men who fulfilled their covenant with God—"some have passed away, and others still await."
Yemeni Houthis: A verse praising the believers who fought without wavering.
Qatar: A verse about divine forgiveness and grace, recited as a reference to the country's mediating role.

| 2 | The choice of this verse by the Saudi delegation was among the most delicate and intelligent possible. Verse 13 of Surah Al-Imran truly offers an accurate depiction of the war that took place, the martyrdom of the leader, and the outcome that followed.
Verse 13 of Al-Imran with translation:
"There was certainly a sign for you in the two armies that met [in battle at Badr]—one fighting in the cause of Allah and another of disbelievers, whom they saw with their own eyes as twice their number [so that the believers might be tested, but the result was changed by Allah's grace]. And Allah strengthens with His support whom He wills. Indeed, in that is a lesson for those of insight."

| 11 | Throughout Iran's history, many rulers stood against the great powers of their time. Their resistance—whether in victory or defeat—is the pride of today's Iran. Yet only a handful transcended mere defiance; they didn't just hold their ground but dealt decisive blows to the superpowers of their era. Shapur I against Rome, Shah Abbas against the Ottomans and Portugal, Nader Shah against Russia, the Ottomans, and others. But Iran's soil had long been deprived of such glory.
With Nader's eyes closed, the country saw no good fortune for centuries. Iranian history stagnated in a repetitive cycle—invasion, occupation, imposed treaties, and concessions. For generations, an external power decided what Iran should be. We had accepted, generation after generation, that our destiny was written elsewhere, not in our own capital.
This time, however, it was different—as if the spirit of Shah Abbas and Nader had been revived. Now, Seyyed Ali Khamenei joins that select few Iranian rulers who governed in such a way that—though he lost his life—he never allowed Iran to suffer a military defeat at the hands of any foreign power.
