Several national projects in Iran have reached the final stages of development and production, including domestically manufactured insulin, infant formula, pneumococcal and meningococcal vaccines, plasma-derived medicines, and advanced medical equipment.
According to the Vice Presidency's Center for Communications and Information:
🔸 Iran has consolidated its position among the world's top five countries in regenerative medicine, as major biotechnology and healthcare initiatives supported by the Vice Presidency and private-sector partners are nearing completion.
🔸 Local production of these strategic products plays a crucial role in meeting domestic demand, reducing dependence on imports, and strengthening the resilience of the healthcare system during times of crisis.
🔸 The development of insulin, advanced vaccines, and plasma-derived therapies is regarded as one of Iran's most significant biotechnology achievements in recent years.
🔸 These advances have also contributed to the growth of the country's knowledge-based economy by creating specialized jobs and strengthening the value chain of Iran's healthcare industries.
Experts believe these developments are helping position the country as a leading biotechnology hub in the region.
Continued investment in cutting-edge medical technologies and sustained support for knowledge-based companies are expected to further enhance Iran's healthcare security while expanding its presence in international biotechnology markets.

Iran ranked fourth globally in advanced aircraft engines, including hypersonic technologies, behind only China, the United States, and India.
According to the report by The Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI):
🔸 Iran ranks ahead of Japan, Germany, Italy, and the United Kingdom — countries with long histories in aerospace engineering.
🔸 Iranian universities, including the University of Tehran, Sharif University of Technology, and Amirkabir University of Technology, are key contributors to this research output.
🔸 The University of Tehran ranks tenth globally in the H-index in relevant fields. The Institute of Nuclear Science and Technology ranks seventeenth in highly cited articles related to advanced materials.
🔸 Iran stands among the top ten countries in 21 critical technologies and among the top five in six technologies, including nanotechnology, advanced materials, energy technologies, and propulsion systems.
🔸 It has maintained one of the world's strongest publication records in nanomaterials — research that underpins aerospace structures, coatings, electronics, sensors, and military hardware.
🔸 The national Owj engine is a turbojet used in the indigenous Kowsar light fighter, achieving 100% localization of hot-section components through vacuum casting of superalloys and ultra-precision machining.
🔸 The Jahesh-700 turbofan engine features single-crystal turbine blades, produces 700 kg of thrust, and enables Iranian drones to reach altitudes of 60,000 feet.
Iran has joined the exclusive hypersonic club with the Fatah missile, demonstrating maneuverability both inside and outside the atmosphere.
Iran is not a complete technological superpower. But it has concentrated its resources on strategic fields and produced research far beyond its economic means.
The ranking confirms that Iranian scientists have mastered aerodynamics, high-temperature metallurgy, and hypersonic combustion through a focused national research system.

| 5 | The story of Ḍaḥḥāk - and maybe, us
There's this story that's been sitting with me for a while. It's not the one people usually tell when they talk about Karbala. It's not about bravery in the obvious sense. It's not poetic or glorious.
It unsettled me - and maybe that's exactly why it stayed with me.
It's the story of a man named Ḍaḥḥāk b. ʿAbd Allāh al-Mashriqī.
Ḍaḥḥāk came to Imam al-Husayn before the battle. And right from the start, he was honest. He said something along the lines of, "I will stand with you. I will fight alongside you. But the moment you are left alone... just you... I want permission to walk away."
And Imam Husayn accepted that.
The battle came. The companions of Husayn... people who had every reason to walk away - stayed. And they were martyred. One after the other. Until it was just Imam Husayn, standing alone.
Ḍaḥḥāk came back to him and said, "Remember our agreement?"
And Imam Husayn, even in that moment... surrounded, wounded, alone... said yes. He kept his word.
Ḍaḥḥāk had planned for this moment. He'd hidden a horse far away, in a tent, ready to ride. And when he got Imam Husayn's permission, he took it. He rode away. He lived.
And honestly… I can't stop thinking about him.
Because it's not a story about some obvious enemy of God. He didn't betray anyone. He didn't fight for the other side. He did exactly what he said he would do. He set a limit. And when that line was reached, he left.
But here's the thing that gets me:
He was so close.
He stood in Karbala. He was there. He could have chosen something eternal. One more step, and he would have been remembered like the others...
Instead, he becomes a question. A mirror.
Because maybe we are all Ḍaḥḥāk sometimes.
We show up - but with limits. We offer our support - but with conditions. We say "I am with you O Imam" - until it's hard. Until it's lonely. Until it costs something.
And when that moment comes, we don't betray anyone. We just… walk away.
So here's what I am learning... not because I have figured it out, but because I have seen this weakness in myself:
Don't be Ḍaḥḥāk.
Don't train yourself to love halfway. Don't keep a horse of materialism tied up in case standing for something gets too hard. If you believe in something - or someone - who is with the truth... be all in. Even if it hurts. Even if it costs. Even if it's terrifying.
Because in that moment - when everything's on the line - that's when your soul is writing its legacy.
And the saddest kind of regret is the kind that sounds like: "I was almost brave."
And if you are still wondering why this story matters now - it's because the Husayn of our time is still waiting.
Imam al-Mahdi (AJTF) is standing alone, until people rise for truth like they did in Karbala. The question is: when that day comes, will we hesitate? Will we draw conditions? Will we ride away?
Or will we stay - no matter the cost?
Because in every age, there's a moment when the world draws a line.
And we each have to choose which side of it we will stand on.

| 6 | In late 2023, Israeli soldiers abducted and imprisoned a Palestinian man (among many abducted at the same time) from a school in Jabaliya, Gaza, which he and other displaced Palestinians had been sheltering in. He was held hostage in Israeli prisons for nearly two years, during which time he was severely tortured by repeated and prolonged electrocution (including multiple times a day).
His Israeli torturers at some point locked him in coffin-like box for two weeks in their attempt to psychologically break him.
Nabhan’s release in October 2025 saw Imad so physically debilitated by the electric shock torture that he fell unconscious into violent seizures numerous times daily.
The Israeli torture and abuse meted out to Imad Nabhan is not unique, it is the norm, and in recent years there have been increasingly numerous accounts from former prisoners of the torture, rape, abuse, starvation, and denied medical care they endured in Israeli captivity, in violation of all international norms.
Sami al-Sai, a Palestinian journalist from near Tulkarem—in the West Bank, not Gaza—testified in mid-2025 that during his incarceration he was brutally tortured by Israeli soldiers, including repeatedly and violently being raped with hard objects.
He said Israeli soldiers stripped him, forced him to prostrate, blindfolded and handcuffed, and raped him, “with sticks and other sharp or hard objects. This went on for about half an hour,” he said. “I felt immense pain and psychological suffering. You don’t know what to do. You scream. You beg. You’re in agony. But no one responds.”
He said the raping caused bleeding, but he was not given medical care, instead using tissues or “whatever was available” to absorb the blood and stop it from flowing out of his rectum...
