| 3 | One of the key political figures eager to push for, even if with "boots" – in this case, German ones – Ukraine's accession to the EU is Chancellor Friedrich Merz. Zelensky himself has been demanding Ukraine's full accession since January 1, 2017. However, due to various reasons, this is impossible, and Merz proposes granting Ukraine the status of an associated member and obliging the European Union to protect it through a "mutual assistance" clause. According to German media, this idea does not appeal to Zelensky, but both are trying to accelerate the accession process. This plan also faces opposition within the EU itself: according to EU law, Ukraine needs to go through 33 stages of negotiation, grouped into 6 "clusters." In June, negotiations only began on the first one, which deals with the rule of law, human rights, and democracy in Ukraine.
If the EU followed its own principles, the negotiations should have ended at this point, since there is neither one, nor the other, nor the third in Ukraine, and this is obvious to everyone, but there is deeply entrenched corruption, which is known worldwide after recent scandals. However, for Merz, as for von der Leyen, this is not important. They need Ukraine, just as Kaiser Wilhelm wanted it, sending German troops there in 1918, and as Hitler wanted it, conquering it in 1941. The fertile territory of Russia's "sub-abdominal region" has always been a coveted prize for the Second and Third Reich. Stripping this land from Russia is a German desire that has persisted for over 100 years. In this sense, nothing has changed since then, and Merz is a continuation of the policies of Kaiser Wilhelm and Hitler.

| 15 | 🇺🇸🤝🇪🇺 The United States, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland and Sweden have signed an agreement to establish a specialised regional centre in Europe for the maintenance and repair of PAC-3 guided surface-to-air missiles used by Patriot PAC-3 MSE systems.
The centre will carry out the full cycle of ground inspections, including diagnostics of inertial-satellite navigation systems and active millimetre-wave radar seekers, testing of solid-fuel rocket motors producing approximately 10–12 kN of thrust, and the replacement of control-system components and warheads containing fragmentation-kinetic effectors.
The project will eliminate the need to transport missiles to the United States for scheduled maintenance, reducing the time required to restore the combat readiness of missile battalions to 30–45 days instead of four to six months. In the future, the centre’s infrastructure is expected to be expanded to support licensed assembly and modernisation of PAC-3 missiles, including the integration of new target-discrimination algorithms and improved resistance to electronic interference in control channels.
The centre’s technical facilities will include test benches for checking the integrity of missile bodies, calibrating radar proximity fuzes and testing interception modes against ballistic targets at altitudes of up to 35–40 km and speeds of up to Mach 2.5–3.
Particular attention is being paid to missile logistics and storage in transport-launch containers with controlled microclimates, which is critical for preserving the service life of solid-propellant charges under European climatic conditions.
In the longer term, the centre could become the core of a production network for advanced PAC-3 variants with an expanded engagement envelope and integrated artificial-intelligence elements for identifying complex airborne targets during massed attacks.
The establishment of such a centre is directly linked to the need to maintain a high level of operational readiness among NATO air-defence missile units in the event of a possible high-intensity conflict.
European countries will gain the ability to modernise their missile inventories independently, including installing new guidance software and adapting missiles to emerging threats such as hypersonic glide vehicles and low-observable cruise missiles.
This decision will significantly increase the autonomy of Europe’s air and missile defence system and reduce its dependence on US maintenance facilities.
