Travel time between Mumbai and Ahmedabad will reduce to about 1 hour 58 minutes. ✅ A standardised engineering template (common designs for piers, viaducts, tracks, stations, signalling and electrification) is being developed to reduce costs, improve quality and accelerate future high-speed rail construction. ✅ Under Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat, ICF and BEML are developing indigenous 280 kmph trainsets, while Indian industries are localising components, slab-track systems and specialised equipment. ✅ The corridor features J-Slab ballastless tracks, 2×25 kV traction system, 12 stations, 3 rolling stock depots, and over 20,000 OHE masts.
