✅ Repayment period: Up to 15 years (excluding course period + 1-year moratorium).

🔆 Vibrant Villages Programme (VVP-I)

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) updated the implementation status of the Vibrant Villages Programme-I (VVP-I), aimed at the comprehensive development of India’s northern border villages to improve infrastructure, livelihoods and border security.
📍 Key Highlights:
✅ Launched: 15 February 2023 as a Centrally Sponsored Scheme covering 662 villages in 46 border blocks across 19 districts of Arunachal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Uttarakhand and Ladakh (UT).
✅ Project Progress: 1,248 projects sanctioned by MHA with an outlay of ₹3,065.32 crore, 316 projects completed, and 1,658 additional projects approved through convergence with Central Ministries.

111 road projects (₹2,481.93 crore) for 134 unconnected villages
528 villages connected with 4G
625 villages provided piped drinking water
621 villages electrified
140 off-grid solar and 7 micro-hydel projects sanctioned.

What are RSETIs? Rural Self Employment Training Institutes (RSETIs) are district-level institutes under DAY-NRLM that promote rural self-employment and micro-enterprises.
Training Model: They provide free, short-term, practical and residential training to unemployed rural people aged 18–50 years, covering 73 courses in agriculture, manufacturing, services and entrepreneurship.
Institutional Partnership: RSETIs operate through a three-way partnership between the Ministry of Rural Development + State/UT Governments + Sponsor Banks, with credit linkage and post-training support.
Nationwide Reach: As of March 2026, India has 632 RSETIs across 33 States/UTs, covering 619 districts and supported by 25 sponsor banks.
Training Achievement: Since 2009, 60.63 lakh candidates have been trained against a target of 60.81 lakh — an achievement of about 99.7%.
Livelihood Impact: 43.89 lakh trained candidates have secured sustainable livelihoods, while 22.52 lakh beneficiaries have accessed bank finance.
Record Performance: 2024-25 recorded the highest annual training achievement, with 6.21 lakh candidates trained.

✅ Seven India-led Codex standards and guidelines were adopted, reinforcing India’s role in developing science-based international food standards.
✅ Standards developed under India’s chairmanship include Dried Coriander Seeds and Fresh Curry Leaves, while co-chaired texts cover Vanilla, Large Cardamom, safe reuse of water in food production, Campylobacter and Salmonella control in chicken meat, and food labelling.
✅ CAC49 approved India’s proposal to develop a Codex Standard for Cashew Kernels, expected to boost Indian exports, reduce technical trade barriers and strengthen global market access.
✅ India was elected Co-Chair of the Electronic Working Group on New Food Sources and Production Systems (NFPS) to review global regulatory frameworks and future Codex guidance.
