These are rules in healing. They are not negotiable. They are creative and never the same person to person or day to day. Programs fail humans. Always. Not the other way around. Your intention and relationship to training and movement go deeper in your effects than movement choices, reps, sets or frequency. Rememeber that. Same with food, light, meditation and prayer. Remember that. Why do you do what you do? Your body is responding to the truth. Remember that. Should we be moving deliberately day? Yes. Deliberate focused movement being training is different than physical activities we enjoy like walking, gardening, chasing kids, working on the farm or ranch, being in a sport of military? Yes. Should we be training more as we grow older? Yes. Relative to who you are at that time. Never like anyone else. Always different than previous versions of you. When we experience injuries to joints or tissues we need to train them? Of course. They are your strongest tissues, safer to damage so you can tie weaker areas of life into them. Your system will create a limp, emotionally and physically and will create a story like walking is dangerous, the mattress injured you, not knowing how to fall causes injuries. Part of proving otherwise so these stories don’t stay past their initial welcome comes from more movement to these areas. Proof. Also a rule in symptoms and all injuries is to lower physical activities and hobbies. The extra energy is spent on healing and training. Proof. Starting point for all cases. Without question. No matter how strong someone gets it’s the connection to muscle that determines function. What touches muscle connection? Everything. Stories. Relationships. Beliefs. Energy. Drugs. Herbs. Rest. Career. All unique to the person. Do these rules apply to all diagnoses. illness and sickness? Yes. Without question. Acl to cancer. Auto immune to muscle tears. Cannot copy and paste anything. Must find your voice within the rules.

I’ll never forget over 20 years ago when I first was introduced to this statement. Led me on a blind path with many turns and twists regarding all diagnoses, injuries, symptoms, performance and healing of the human being, starting with me. Should this be taken literally? Of course not. It’s social media. You aren’t him. You know diets and programs don’t work. Ever. But there are principles and concepts that are laws in nature and healing of all humans that can be understood. How you apply it creatively in your own way is the medicine you’ll be looking for and will respond to best. Should we be moving deliberately day? Yes. Repost from @tommyjohniii • The Medicine In A Blanket A blanket hand stitched by one of my clients. Using my favorite colors. Means so much more than a blanket. There’s elements to your medicine that can never be measured by anyone other than you. Elements that will never be understood by anyone other than you. Why symptoms and injuries seem so risky, they are a reinvention of yourself to the point that nobody will understand your next life. Her symptoms of healing are extremely severe in the areas of her hands, feet, nerves. For her to be able to do this goes beyond any lab value and she came up with it, she decided, she chose. It was her prescription, her dose, her actions. With symptoms. Because of them. Using them. Not in the absence or avoidance or numbing of them. She’s using her healing responses to find herself, new self. One with a voice. One with trust. One with safety. Obedient to her. Poetic within the obedience. Remember, symptoms and injuries show us how to live. They show us why living is important. They show us what’s here. Living isn’t to avoid these. Or manage these. Or hide these. Hiding them would be the opposite of trust and safety. With symptoms and injures we learn how to live. Your medicine is not mine is not hers is not theirs. It’s unique and perfect for the moment. To connect with a body that is never wrong and has full understanding on the gravity of the immeasurable. Your body will show you the value of the immeasurable and all that’s here for you.

Where I start every case no matter the symptoms, severity, age, injures, chronic or acute. Strength. True strength. How to acquire it. And all that affect it. Your budget for change. Can’t stop at just muscle which everyone wants to single out as the silver bullet. It’s emotions. It’s food. It’s light. It’s sleep. It’s hygiene. It’s relations. It’s patterns. It’s cycles. It’s spirit. It’s mind. It’s body. It’s rest. It’s play. It’s hormones, skin and nervous system. Sadly these always fail because it’s not they they’re not important. It’s that they’re so important they can never be root cause or cure. It’s all of it. No getting around it. Change costs you. Understanding costs you. Healing costs you. Decisions cost you. Eating, laughing, screwing, dancing cost you. Leaving costs you. Defending costs you. Medicine costs you. No matter who you’re guided by. The ones that don’t align with the human body will cost you more. Doesn’t mean you can’t dance with them. But you will understand the cost. And where this investment comes from. Doesn’t matter what form of medicine you do. Commit. Your body will not lie. Doesn’t matter what your decision is next. Commit on the next step. Your body won’t lie and loves action. This all costs you. That cost is coming from somewhere that ties and is tied to all of the above mentioned. Symptoms and injuries are for reinventing. Reinventing yourself will cost you. Invest wisely. Have to have a starting point. Your body only heals. No exceptions. Now get to work.

Rules commonly broken in healing: not slowing down when symptomatic or injured. Not speeding up when slowing down pays off. And not obeying your body in the seasons with regards it where you live. Another basic level of proof all bodies will never have the same medicine. People living in two different hemispheres just from seasons alone would need two completely different prescriptions. My fellow northern hemisphere inhabitants…it’s time to speed things up. Add more activities. More travel. Outside for longer hours of the day. Bedtime might be later. Wake might be earlier. Nourishment will change. Training will change. Activities will change. This is outside of symptoms or injuries as those get an entirely different set of rules on top of seasonal rules. All southern hemisphere inhabitants…it’s time to slow down. Less activities. Less travel. Inside for more hours of the day. Bedtime earlier. Wake with sunrise. Nourishment will change. Training will change. Activities will change. This is outside of symptoms or injuries as those get an entirely different set of rules on top of seasonal rules. Enjoy the fruits of your obeying seasonal rules and speeding up or slowing down drastically. Changing all habits and routines drastically. This was the payout. A restful slumber to recover, build and work on deeper aspects of life exposed during summer. An energetic, explosion of activities and tastes and travel using what was gained from slowing down and doing deeper work all winter long. Enjoy the season. That’s what your body wants for you. But it will need you to obey its rules.
