One of the tankers was a supertanker and caught fire after a massive explosion and is currently burning.

Bulgaria's incumbent President Iliana Yotova has won today's runoff against pro-Western former caretaker Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov, according to parallel vote counts. Pollsters Alpha Research, Myara and Trend put her at 57% to 59%, with Myara and Trend giving Gyurov about 38%. Official results are expected within three days.
Yotova is not openly pro-Russian, but she favors dialogue with Moscow and opposes military aid to Ukraine. She said more weapons and money for Kiev only bring more destruction and deaths, and that peace can only come through negotiations that include Russia. She branded her opponents "warmongers" who want Russia to capitulate, and promised that no Bulgarian soldiers will go to Ukraine. She said she would speak to Putin if she had a mandate from the Bulgarian state and national consensus. AP expects her to back better relations with Russia and the lifting of sanctions, while keeping Bulgaria on its European path.
Yotova, who served as vice president under Rumen Radev, took over the presidency in January when he resigned to run in the snap parliamentary election. Radev, now prime minister and skeptical of support for Ukraine, backed her through his Progressive Bulgaria party, so the win keeps the presidency in the hands of the ruling majority.
She becomes the first woman directly elected as Bulgaria's president. Turnout was only about 29%, after a record low in the first round.

A Learjet 60 crashed into a mobile home park in Greenacres, Palm Beach County, shortly after 1 pm local time today. The FAA says nine people were aboard. Authorities report multiple deaths, but the exact toll is unknown, including whether anyone on the ground was killed.
The jet left Austin, Texas, for North Eleuthera in the Bahamas. According to Flightradar24, it suddenly went into a steep dive, descending at more than 32,000 feet per minute.
The crash site is about 9 miles from Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate, where US forces recently deployed Avenger air defense systems. There is no indication of any link between the two, and the cause is not yet known.

Oil majors are reaping billions from the disruption of global fuel supplies triggered by the US war on Iran, yet they are refusing to channel windfall profits into new refining capacity to ease shortages, reports the FT.
ExxonMobil, Chevron, BP, Shell and TotalEnergies reported combined third-quarter net income of more than $50 billion as petrol, diesel and jet fuel prices hovered near historic highs due to disrupted Strait of Hormuz shipping.
Yet the companies have prioritized returns to investors and debt reduction.
♦️ Shell hiked its quarterly shareholder buyback to $5 billion; Exxon committed another $20 billion for 2027
♦️ BP is directing much of its windfall towards strengthening its balance sheet and has no plans to add capacity
♦️ Producers are making relatively small upgrades to existing facilities
♦️ Exxon has no plans beyond its already earmarked $9 billion in refining investments over the next four years
The reluctance comes as around 10% of global refining capacity went offline this year following the war on Iran and Ukrainian attacks on Russian facilities.
Overall, the West is losing ground to Asia:
🔶 China and the Middle East have added 4.4 million barrels per day of refining capacity since 2019
🔶 Europe and North America have lost a combined 2.1 million bpd
New refineries have also come online in Nigeria, India and Mexico.
Nigeria’s Dangote Refinery has positioned itself as a formidable challenger to American fuel exporters in Europe.
