🗓 The 14th St Petersburg International Legal Forum was held on June 24-26. The event brought together over 6,000 participants from 80 countries, including prosecutors general, heads of foreign courts and relevant agencies, as well as representatives of government bodies, the diplomatic corps accredited in Russia, Russian and foreign legal organisations, business, academia, students and young professionals. The Forum’s business programme featured over 160 events. 📄 More than 60 agreements and contracts were signed on the Forum's sidelines. Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev took part in the Plenary Session. 💬 In his remarks, Dmitry Medvedev stressed that the current crisis of international law stems from the West’s attempts to turn it into a “privilege of the first for a narrow circle of the chosen”: “Being first does not mean being the only one. Being a leader does not grant one the prerogative to cancel the rights and sovereignty of others. The true power of law lies not in protecting anyone’s privileges, but in absolutely guaranteeing equality for all people”. Representatives of the Russian Foreign Ministry took part in a number of events, discussions and round tables. • Grigory Lukyantsev, Director of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s Department for Multilateral Human Rights Cooperation and Commissioner for Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law, spoke at the panel session “Europe’s Historical Amnesia” and at the discussion “Human Rights as a Weapon: When Rights-Based Rhetoric Undermines International Cooperation”. • Maxim Musikhin, Director of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s Legal Department, spoke at the session “New Prospects for Russian Legal Diplomacy”. • Rodion Miroshnik, Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry on the #KievRegimeCrimes, took part in the discussion “The Concept of “Hostile Actions” by Unfriendly Foreign States toward Russia and Measures to Further Improve Russian Legislation in This Area”. 🌐 The 14th St Petersburg International Legal Forum once again reaffirmed its status as an important platform for dialogue among the legal, business and law enforcement communities to discuss key issues on the legal agenda and find responses to global challenges.

⚡️ Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation: The Press Bureau of the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation (SVR) reports that, according to information received by the SVR, Ukrainian security structures are deliberately enabling the growing transit of drugs from Latin America to Europe. Ukraine’s interest is clear. Zelensky’s corruption-ridden regime is seeking additional revenue, especially as its Western sponsors are increasingly unable to fulfill all of its insatiable demands. Kiev also values the assistance of Latin American drug cartels in recruiting new mercenaries for the Ukrainian armed forces. For their part, major Latin American criminal groups are looking to expand their drug trafficking routes, including for fentanyl, amid the intensified anti-drug campaign in the US. They view Ukraine as a safe corridor into the European market due to the lack of proper border and customs control in the country. ❗️ The ports of the Odessa region are becoming the main transshipment hub on the drug route to Europe via Poland, Moldova and Romania. Latin American drug cartels are also interested in gaining access to Ukraine’s black market for weapons. ☝️ This is a vivid illustration of the saying: “One man’s war is another man’s opportunity”. Then again, what else can be expected from the Kiev regime led by a drug-addled top brass?

⚡️ Comment by Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova regarding Romania’s ban on Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics team from using national symbols (June 27, 2026)   💬 Russian participants in the 2026 FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Challenge Cup being held in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, from June 26 to June 28, faced yet another instance of outright arbitrary action and politicisation of international sport.   Notwithstanding the recent decisions by the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) and the European Gymnastics Union to lift all existing restrictions and restore our athletes’ rights, they were forbidden to use their national flag and anthem at the World Challenge Cup in Romania. The Russian side’s responded in the only possible and logical way by refusing to participate in the competitions.   The situation looks all the more absurd because the so-called sanctions against our gymnasts were maintained due to the efforts by the local mayor who resorted to routine statements of countering the “aggressor state.” Neither the event organisers nor the authorities dared to stand up to the provincial official who apparently decided to raise his “standing” in this way.     It is deplorable that the Russophobia being nurtured in Romania in recent years has yielded such ugly fruit – it exposes the disorder that reigns there, when random figures are allowed arbitrariness and shame a country that is apparently unable to provide equal conditions for participants in major international competitions, and therefore must lose the right to claim them. ☝️ The Russian Side will not dismiss this issue.

🎙 Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s answer to a media question (Moscow, June 26, 2026) 💬 Question: US Secretary of State Marco Rubio recently said that during the meeting between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump in Alaska, where the situation around Ukraine was discussed, only a proposal on an approach to a settlement was put forward, and that no agreement had ever been reached there. Could you comment on this situation? Sergey Lavrov: We are indeed receiving many questions on this subject. It is important to clarify the situation as we see it. I hope this will be clear to the audience. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that in Alaska there were only proposals, not agreements on the settlement in Ukraine. Therefore, allegedly, it is unclear why Moscow is so concerned. The point is that, if we look at the full picture, several days before the meeting in Alaska, US President’s Special Envoy Steve Witkoff visited Moscow and brought those very proposals from President Donald Trump. We took them into consideration. President Vladimir Putin promised to give his response at the meeting in Alaska. Already in Anchorage, when the two Presidents “sat down for talks” – Marco Rubio and I were also present – President Vladimir Putin, looking at Steve Witkoff, who was also in the room, began listing the US proposals point by point. After each point, in the presence of President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Vladimir Putin asked Steve Witkoff whether he had accurately captured the ideas that the latter had brought to Moscow ahead of Anchorage. 👉 Steve Witkoff answered each time in the affirmative. Therefore, when my colleague Marco Rubio says that there were only proposals in Alaska and no agreement, this raises a question for me as to what we mean by an agreement. If one Side – in this case, the US – puts forward its settlement proposals, its ideas on how to approach this crisis, and the other Side expresses consent to these proposals, then saying that there was no agreement does not sound particularly elegant. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio also said, while speaking at another event somewhere in the Middle East, that they are ready to step forward and play a constructive role, should they have such an opportunity. He said, in effect, that bringing the parties together and ending this war is what US President Donald Trump has been trying to do for a year and a half. All of this can probably be taken as confirmation that in Alaska there were American proposals, and that we accepted them. But the quote I have just cited raises a question from another angle. I am referring to Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s recent remarks at congressional hearings, when he said that the US could not be a mediator because it supports Ukraine. Now, when Washington expresses interest in playing a constructive role and bringing the parties together, this already sounds like a bid for mediation. ❗️ Of course, this entire situation needs to be clarified. But the fact remains: US proposals were discussed in Alaska, and they were accepted by the Russian Side.

🎙 Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's remarks and answers to questions at the 12th International Scientific and Expert+3
🎙 Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's remarks and answers to questions at the 12th International Scientific and Expert Forum Primakov Readings (Moscow, June 24, 2026) Key points: • This Forum is our way of paying tribute to Yevgeny Primakov, his outstanding personality, rich intellectual legacy and ideas, which remain fully relevant to our work today. • The West remains unwilling to comply with the universally recognised norms of international law enshrined in the UN Charter, even though all states, by signing and ratifying the Charter, undertook to observe these norms in their entirety, totality and interrelation. • A defining feature of the current moment is the West’s readiness to rewrite even its notorious “rules” on the fly – the very rules it until recently sought to substitute for international law. As soon as the West realised that free trade, fair competition, the inviolability of property and the unrestricted movement of capital had enabled new centres of development in Asia, Africa and Latin America to unlock their potential, it immediately weaponised the dollar and other global currencies, unleashed sanctions and tariff wars, and began seizing foreign exchange and gold reserves. • The West is dismantling the foundations of the international security system built over decades. For many years, Russia has faced the irresponsible eastward geopolitical expansion of the “Atlantic community”, right up to our borders. • Russia welcomes the agreement between the US and Iran to cease hostilities, as well as the negotiations now under way. We stand ready to assist in developing a comprehensive, long-term agreement between the two countries and a broader settlement involving their neighbours, should our good offices be required. • Centuries of diplomatic experience point to one conclusion: the golden rule of lasting conflict settlement is to eradicate its root causes. For us, this applies first and foremost to the Ukrainian crisis, which was deliberately engineered by the West as part of its expansion towards Russia’s borders. • I am convinced that a political and diplomatic settlement of the situation around Ukraine remains entirely possible. President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly stated this. It requires specific, legally binding security guarantees based on the principle of indivisible security, including guarantees for Russia’s security along its western borders. • The West must understand that it must abandon its plans for military-political, geoeconomic and ideological expansion into areas of Russia’s vital interests. • #Multipolarity does not condemn the world to chaos and confrontation, despite what its critics claim. A balance of interests based on international law is fully achievable. #RussiaChina relations, particularly our comprehensive partnership and strategic interaction, clearly demonstrate this. • #BRICS and the #SCO show how the principles of sovereign equality and mutually beneficial cooperation can be implemented multilaterally. Their philosophy is close to and understood by all states seeking to pursue independent foreign policies and advance their national interests above all. Read in full

📄 The Russian Foreign Ministry has compiled and issued a report on the indigenous peoples rights situation in certain countries. 👉 Read the report in full Despite continued focus on indigenous peoples and general understanding that it is important to develop and protect their rights, significant challenges in this area still remain. Among other things, this is caused by persisting and even deepening historical injustice against many indigenous peoples that occurs in a number of states, which manifested itself in colonization, deprivation of land, territories and resources of those indigenous peoples. ❗️ We also note that the topic of indigenous people’s rights is subject to excessive politicization as well, is fraught with cynically applied double standards, and is generally aimed at creating division and confrontation rather than cooperation between all participants. Additionally, assessment of the living standards of indigenous peoples is misused by a number of States (primarily Canada, Norway, Finland, the US, etc.) and international organizations to exert international pressure, including with the aim of questioning Russia's right to its original Arctic lands. Another goal of this unfair practice of a number of countries is to divert the attention of the international community from their own problems in establishing a regime for the protection of the rights of indigenous peoples and to conceal the plight of their citizens from among traditional societies. For example, almost all Arctic States mentioned in the report pursued some form of assimilation and discrimination policies towards the aboriginal population, which led to multiple social, political and cultural problems. Canada Indigenous peoples of Canada remain one of the most oppressed and marginalised groups, facing persistent discrimination and life below the poverty line. The Special Rapporteur on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, mandated by the UN Human Rights Council, has reported that the protection of economic, social and cultural rights of Indigenous peoples in Canada remains unsatisfactory. Canada's ongoing colonial violence against Indigenous peoples manifests, to this day, in practices such as forced sterilisation. Finland Discrimination in Finland manifests as significant encroachments on the rights of the Sami people, indigenous inhabitants of Finland totalling around 10,000 people, with 2,000 native speakers of the Sami language. In most cases, human rights bodies have underscored obstacles to the practical realisation of the right to use the Sami language, enshrined in the Finnish legislation. *** This topic was also traditionally included in the third joint report of the Foreign Ministries of Russia and Belarus on the Human Rights Situation in Certain Countries published in June 2026. Besides, these issues are consistently highlighted in the annual reports of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation on human rights issues, including in reports regarding the situation with the glorification of Nazism and the spread of neo-Nazism and other practices that contribute to fuelling contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance (the latest such report was released in August 2025).

⚡️ Russia's Foreign Ministry has published its second report on the situation regarding the rights of Indigenous peoples in selected countries. Like the previous report published in 2024, it identifies the key current challenges and analyses the situation of Indigenous populations in six Arctic Council member states: Canada, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden and the United States, as well as Australia, Japan and New Zealand. In recent years, the issue of Indigenous peoples’ rights has become excessively politicised and rife with cynically applied double standards. Overall, it is increasingly being used to foment division and confrontation rather than promote cooperation among members of the international community. The US, Canada and their allies have stepped up their activities at universal international platforms, within regional formats and in the media, promoting narratives about alleged violations of Indigenous peoples’ rights in Russia and several developing countries. In doing so, they seek to: • divert global attention from problems in North America, Western Arctic states, Australia, Japan and New Zealand; • call into question Russia’s right to its ancestral Arctic territories. Virtually all the countries covered by the report have historically pursued policies of assimilation and discrimination against their Indigenous populations in one form or another. This has created, and continues to cause, numerous sociopolitical and cultural problems. Many countries are currently developing mechanisms for consultation and cooperation with Indigenous communities. However, the measures adopted in this area are often incomplete. ☝️Common challenges facing Indigenous peoples in various countries include: • the gradual erosion of their traditional way of life as a consequence of past assimilation policies; • violations of their rights to traditional lands and natural resources; • environmental degradation caused by industrial exploitation and the militaristic activities of certain states abroad; • high unemployment; • Indigenous communities’ dependence on state subsidies. These adverse phenomena are particularly acute in Arctic countries, which is why the situation there has been addressed in a separate report. 🇷🇺🇧🇾 This issue was also traditionally covered in the third Joint Report by the Foreign Ministries of Russia and Belarus – “The Human Rights Situation in Certain Countries”, published in June 2026. These matters are also systematically addressed in the Russian Foreign Ministry’s annual human rights reports, including those examining the glorification of Nazism, the spread of neo-Nazism and other practices contributing to the escalation of contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance. The latest such report was published in August 2025.

🎙 President of Russia Vladimir Putin's address at a meeting with graduates of military academies (Moscow, June 23, 2026) Read in full 💬 The current international situation is far from stable. Armed confrontation in the Middle East continues unabated, while the potential for conflict has increased significantly across a number of regions, including Eurasia. We can see that whereas NATO countries previously confined themselves to supporting the Kiev regime, which came to power illegally, through an armed coup, the West is now openly declaring that it is preparing for war with us and increasing its military and offensive budgets. To justify this spending and the radical militarisation of their countries, the leaders of NATO and EU member states continue to invoke false claims about an alleged Russian military threat. ❗️ The modus operandi of the so-called pseudo-democratic West is very simple: first, it creates threats to our country, forcing us to take the necessary measures in self-defence and self-protection, and then immediately blames us for every conceivable sin in order to justify the continuation of its aggressive policy and actions against Russia. We know this all too well. Even after the treacherous attack on the Soviet Union on June 22, 1941, the West, represented by Nazi Germany, sought to accuse the USSR and Stalin of aggression against what we would today call the “collective West”. Astonishingly, this claim is still being discussed in quasi-academic circles. ☝️ I would like to emphasise that Russia consistently advocates equal and indivisible security for all. We are convinced that this can only be achieved by building a multipolar system of international relations and reliably ensuring the military security of every state. At the same time, we stand ready to respond swiftly and appropriately to any external or internal threats. #MultipolarWorld

💬 Russia's Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova: Politico refused to publish an article by Sergey Lavrov on the origins of the Ukrainian crisis and European security. It was not Russia’s Foreign Minister whom the outlet rejected, but the substance of his article. The piece remained with the editors for more than 24 hours before being returned with the curt note: “We will not publish it”. This is a flagrant act of censorship. A scandal for all of Europe. At the heart of the EU stands a media outlet that portrays itself as a champion of European values – democracy, freedom and prosperity – but is, in reality, an extreme example of censorship and Orwellian authoritarian practices. Now let us take a closer look at whose supposedly expert opinions this outlet uses to shape public opinion in Europe – or, more accurately, to brainwash Europeans. Over the past five years – from 2021 through early 2026 – Politico Europe’s Opinion section published columns by 70 incumbent heads of state, heads of government and ministers from more than 30 countries. They authored or co-authored 66 articles, including 13 written jointly by two or more officials. Of these publications, 35 were penned by heads of state or government, 18 by foreign ministers and 13 by other ministers, including those responsible for defence, finance, energy, internal affairs and the environment. Politico.eu was used most frequently by representatives of Britain (9 articles by 8 authors), Estonia (7 articles), Ukraine (6), Lithuania (4) and Greece (3). ☝️ In other words, opinions at the heart of the European Union were being shaped by representatives of countries that are relative newcomers to the EU, have never belonged to it or have exited it altogether. My congratulations to France, Germany and Italy.

🕯 22.06.1941 WE REMEMBER all those who went to the front and never returned home. Those who shed their blood and fell on the battlefields fighting Hitler's scourge and Nazi collaborators. WE MOURN alongside every family that lost loved ones in that terrible war: fathers and mothers, brothers and sisters, sons and daughters. WE HONOUR the courage of those who bore the brunt of the enemy’s first assault, stood their ground and repelled attack after attack in the ranks of the Red Army and partisan detachments. We honour those who worked selflessly on the home front: at their machines, in hospitals, factories and fields. WE BOW OUR HEADS before the generation of Victors who saved our Motherland, Europe and the entire world from the brown plague of Nazism. This is our pain, our pride and our sacred duty. #NoOneIsForgotten #NothingIsForgotten

🕯 June 22 is the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow – a date commemorated across Russia and other CIS countries. At dawn on June 22, 1941, Nazi Germany treacherously invaded the Soviet Union. Thus began the Great Patriotic War. On this day, Russians remember their fallen relatives and compatriots – the 27 million Soviet people whose lives were taken by the war. Yet on that very first day, words were spoken that foretold its outcome: “Our cause is just. The enemy will be defeated. #Victory will be ours”. During the war, some 34 million people served in the Red Army. Nearly 8.7 million never returned home. The war lasted 1️⃣,4️⃣1️⃣8️⃣ days and nights. It ended in Berlin – with the Red Banner raised over the defeated Reichstag and the signing of Germany’s unconditional surrender. #Victory81

🇷🇺🇧🇾 Statement of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia “On the Genocide of the Soviet People dur
🇷🇺🇧🇾 Statement of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia “On the Genocide of the Soviet People during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945” (June 21, 2026) ◾️ 85 years ago, Germany treacherously invaded the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, marking the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. The actions of the German Nazis and their accomplices were aimed at exterminating the Soviet people. In the occupied territories, the invaders committed acts aimed at the complete or partial elimination of the national, ethnic and racial groups inhabiting the Soviet Union. These included killing members of these groups, causing serious harm to their health, forcibly preventing births, forcibly transferring children, forcibly displacing people and deliberately creating conditions of life calculated to bring about their physical destruction. 🕯 The war claimed the lives of almost 27 million Soviet people. Civilian losses exceeded 13.6 million. The Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia considers it unacceptable to forget the crimes committed by the Nazis. Preserving the historical memory of the Great Patriotic War is essential to preventing crimes against peace, war crimes and crimes against humanity, countering manifestations of Nazism, and maintaining universal peace and harmony. ✍️ To preserve the memory of the millions of Soviet citizens who fell victim to Nazi criminals and their accomplices during the Great Patriotic War, the Republic of Belarus adopted Law No. 146-Z “On the Genocide of the Belarusian People” of January 5, 2022, while the Russian Federation adopted Federal Law No. 74-FZ “On Perpetuating the Memory of the Victims of the Genocide of the Soviet People during the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945” of April 21, 2025. The legislative recognition of the genocide of the Soviet people during the Great Patriotic War is a logical continuation of the judgment of the International Military Tribunal at Nuremberg and subsequent court rulings against Nazi criminals and their accomplices. Taking into account the Charter of the United Nations of June 26, 1945, the Charter and Judgment of the Nuremberg Tribunal, the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide of December 9, 1948, and the Convention on the Non-Applicability of Statutory Limitations to War Crimes and Crimes Against Humanity of November 26, 1968, and guided by the legislation adopted in the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation, the Parliamentary Assembly recognises the atrocities committed by the Nazi German invaders and their accomplices against the population of the Soviet Union during the Great Patriotic War as genocide of the Soviet people. The members of the Parliamentary Assembly call for resolute opposition to all attempts to rewrite history, justify Nazism or diminish the Soviet people’s role in defeating fascism. They regard support for neo-Nazism for the sake of political expediency as a threat to all humanity. The members of the Parliamentary Assembly call on the United Nations, international interparliamentary organisations and bodies, and fellow parliamentarians to join this Statement and adopt corresponding statements. #NoStatuteOfLimitations
