"There is a difference between a real flower that gives us a scent and a plastic flower that looks good but only carries the name flower. There is a difference between the two. The real flower, you put it in your house, it has a nice scent, it looks better. But you also got a plastic flower, it looks very good, but there is a huge difference between the plastic and the real flower. The Muslim with no Da'wah, the Muslim who does not ordain the good and forbid the evil, is like that plastic flower. Looks good, he is still Muslim, we are not saying he is not Muslim, looks good too because a Muslim is always good Insha'Allah. However, he is like that plastic flower. The one who ordains the good and forbids the evil and does Da'wah like those we mentioned, the task of the Messenger, the task of the Sahaabah, the task of the Jinn and even the task of some of the animals. The one who does Da'wah is like a real flower that has a scent and it is more delightful to look at and it is more preferred to have in your house than a plastic flower." — Shaykh Ahmad Musa Jibril (حفظه الله)

#ComingSoon in shā Allāh Stay tuned for the next Q&A in which the Shaykh (حفظه الله) answers the question: “Is it permissible for a husband and wife to physically display affection and be physically intimate with each other in the presence of other people (including family/children)? "A believer who engages in Da'wah, who takes that task upon him, is like a running water. There is a difference, running water is more pure than still water. You know about water? Running water is always more pure than still water. If water is still, if it is in a pond or in a pool, over time what happens? You got to look at the matter over time, over time what happens? It may stay clean for a while, in your pool or your pond or any type of still water, even if it is big. For some time it is going to remain clean, but after a while, it gets tainted. Unlike running water that runs into the oceans and it is more pure and more clean. Not ordaining the good or doing Da'wah, if you do not ordain the good and you do not do Da'wah, you are like the still water. You might get tainted after a while. There is no neutral grounds in Da'wah, no neutral grounds, especially for us in the West, there is no neutral ground. That is how it is, take that as a rule, there is no neutral grounds in Da'wah zone, you cannot say I am just neutral to myself. You are either giving Da'wah or you are getting invaded in your belief. The water gets tainted over time, especially in the circumstance that we are in. Be like that clean running water with Da'wah to Allah, that clean running water. A believer does not want to be still with his religion, he always wants to move and convey and teach others because that is among the noble tasks, the tasks of the Messengers." — Shaykh Ahmad Musa Jibril (حفظه الله)

#NEW | O Muslim, Never Give Up! | #REMINDER https://youtu.be/tNMOyNQ4FNM

🍂 Flee to Allah! Fleeeeee! 🍂 When you have a feeling of complete hopelessness from anyone (and everyone) Allah created, when there is affliction and catastrophe that falls upon you one after another with no end in sight, remember - this life is a test. This life is based on one affliction going away and the next catastrophe showing up! Catastrophe heap upon catastrophe. You reach a point sometimes of complete hopelessness. Why? So you do the only thing you can and are supposed to do - flee to your Lord! You have no choice but to turn back to Him. Don’t give up hope of Allah’s good mercy. Allah is the Most Merciful. Flee to Allah. Allah is there to answer you. None can help you. None can remove the affliction that befalls you except He. You have to put your trust in Allah. Allah said (Hadith Qudsi - interpretation of the meaning): Whosoever draws close to Me by the length of a hand, I will draw close to him by the length of an arm. Whosoever draws close to Me by the length of an arm, I will draw close to him by the length of a fathom. Whoever comes to Me walking, I will come to him running. When the verse was revealed in the Qur’an, When my slaves inquires about Me O Muhammad, I am indeed near. I answer all their supplications and I answer the supplication of the supplicant when he supplicates. So, we have to supplicate! There is no refuge but with Him, neither is there any escape from Him except to Him. We have to flee to Allah, there is no other direction to go. Allah is the only recourse. - Shaykh Musa Jibril حفظه الله https://t.me/LightOfTheTruth

Punishment of Backbiters Anas Ibn Malik narrated that the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said: "When my Lord ascended me to the heavens, I passed by a group of people having nails made of copper with which they scratched their faces and chest. I asked: "Who are those, O Jibril?" He answered: "Those are who consume the flesh of people [i.e. backbiters] and vilify the honor of others." Sunan Abu Dawud (4857), Musnad Ahmad (3/224)

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته A project that’s been a long time coming. It’s time to garner the resources of the Muslims, and unite it in one effort. The Murji’a and every other group of misguidance have an abundance of resources at their disposal, usually due to intermingling their “Da’wah” with money and donations. Many of them make their living by giving “Da’wah,” and we ask Allah to protect our intention. One of the lions of this Da’wah is Shaykh Ahmad Musa Jibrīl (حفظه الله تعالى), who has sacrificed more than many can imagine, to stay the course of the Tawheed he preaches. The Shaykh, is more deserving that we all come together and work in unison to spread and disseminate his Da’wah. This monumental task - cannot be effectively done by one team, let alone one person. As such, we’ve developed a way for all of us to contribute. Click below to participate. https://forms.gle/Sd8yDTeNjSXA7DE79

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته My Father’s (حفظه الله) surgery is tomorrow Insha’Allah, please keep my father and all the Muslims being tested with sickness and/or hardships in your Duaa. We hope in the Mercy of Allah, that the Duaa behind your brothers back is accepted Insha’Allah, as narrated by Imām Muslim in his Sahih, that the Messenger صلى الله عليه و سلم said: مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ مُسْلِمٍ يَدْعُو لأَخِيهِ بِظَهْرِ الْغَيْبِ إِلاَّ قَالَ الْمَلَكُ وَلَكَ بِمِثْلٍ No Muslim servant supplicates for his brother behind his back but that the angel says: And for you the same. Increase in your Duaa for your brothers, and be generous (and greedy!). May Allah protect the Muslims, and give them that which is a coolness to their eyes. والحمدلله رب العالمين

Ibn Mubarak narrates from Wuhaib bin Al-Ward that Zakariya could not find his son Yahya for three days, so he went into the desert looking for him. He found him in a grave he dug for himself, and stayed in it weeping for himself. Zakariya said: "O my son! I have been looking for you for the last three days, and here you are in a grave you dug for yourself, and weeping in it?" Yahya replied: "O father! Did you not yourself tell me that between Jannah and Hell there is only one crossing which cannot be crossed except by the tears of weepers?" Zakariya said, then, "Weep my son," and they both cried together.

What type of effect does saying “Yā Hayyu Yā Qayyūm” have in du’ā? Ibn al-Qayyim (رحمه الله) mentioned in “Zād al-Ma’ād” (4/204) that saying “Yā Hayyu, Yā Qayyūm” had a special effect when it comes to the answering of du’ā and the removal of distress. But how significant is it? His teacher, Shaykh al-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah (رحمه الله) explained in “Al-Majmū’ al-Fatāwā” (27/241): When the servant whispers to his Lord in the late night (i.e., before dawn) and seeks His help, He says: “Yā Hayyu, Yā Qayyūm, there is no Deity except You, with Your mercy I seek help.” يا حي يا قيوم لا إله إلا أنت برحمتك أستغيث Allāh gives him empowerment of what he (i.e., the servant) does not know except Allāh. Allāh said: “But if they had done what they were instructed, it would have been better for them and a firmer position [for them in faith].” [4:66] “And then We would have given them from Us a great reward.” [4:67] “And We would have guided them to a straight path.” [4:68] Then everything of benefit and good is brought to his character. [End Quote]

"A phrase Mama repeats often is “You think I fear anyone? I only fear Allah”, and although I know many people parrot this, I’ve never seen anyone prove it in their actions the way my beloved mother does. She didn’t teach us to speak the truth by her prodding and encouragement only, but rather by her example before anything else. I’ve seen her speak in gatherings that consisted of numerous women, many of whom were older, above her in authority, greatly respected by their peers. So respected, that other women dared not to oppose even a word they uttered or even raise their voices in their presence, but none of that stopped Mama from immediately interjecting and refuting them when they sought to spread their liberal Kufri agendas in gatherings. Mama would speak so harshly that you could see the fear in their eyes, and she wouldn’t give a chance for anyone to try and defend their falsehood. I’ve always known her to be an introvert, but not when it came to Da’wah. Not when it came to Haqq. and she expected that attitude from all her children as well. When it came to speaking the truth, there were no excuses that permitted us to stay silent. Mama didn't care if you were shy or not, because shyness in speaking the truth, is really just weakness. In fact, those of us who were shy, she would make an extra effort to make sure we spoke in the face of falsehood and we spoke loudly, and I recall this quite well because I was the shyest of all her children. She always pushed me out of my comfort zone generally, but even more extremely when it was to refute falsehood or to speak and spread the truth. Sometimes, at the weekly sisters' Qur’an classes, some women would attempt to interrupt the sister speaking and interject their own false interpretations or misconceptions to undermine the Tafseer being taught. The fact that it was a large group of women and all of them were older than myself usually made me hesitate before speaking up to counter anything said, as I would feel intimidated and shy, and they would get angry and argumentative. But any fear I had of people was always ousted the moment my eyes met with my mothers from across the room, and with the jerk of her head, it was as if she would say to me, أَتَخْشَوْنَهُمْ ۚ فَٱللَّهُ أَحَقُّ أَن تَخْشَوْهُ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ “Do you fear them? Allah has more right that you should fear him if you are indeed believers.” and with that reminder and my mothers piercing gaze, I would speak and I would attempt to silence them with a rebuttal. If they argued and got defensive, I would argue back, until they had nothing of substance left to say except whispering amongst themselves and scowls of disapproval. I could see the satisfaction on Mama’s face when I did that. However, if my speech was not to her liking, because perhaps I spoke too softly or spoke too less, she would not remain silent and would take up the task herself, and when she lacked for the English to express her points further, she would again turn her piercing gaze in my direction, and I would carry on her train of thought. The pride I would see in her eyes when my refutation was up to par with her standards was unlike any other pride. It was as if this was the only reason she had given birth to me, to see me speaking that which pleased Allah and removing ignorance from people. She always taught us that there's no age when it comes to speaking Haqq, and that if we see falsehood being uttered from those older than us, we still have a duty to correct them. Respect did not entail staying silent in response to wrongdoing. Respect did not entail tolerating Batil." — Shared [Memoirs of My Mother's Tarbiyyah]

"You will not perfect your Tawheed unless you hate kufr, more than you hate being thrown into a fire. Think of how much you would hate being thrown into a fire, and then think of the level of hatred that you have towards kufr. If the hatred you have of kufr is not at the same level or more, then work on your imaan." — Shaykh Ahmad Musa Jibril حفظه الله

"She taught us Wala’ and Bara’ before even knowing the term for it. Most immigrants strive to assimilate when they immigrate and take measures to blend in, but Mama took measures to stick out and she made sure that we knew that we were different and that we were proud of it. She didn’t teach us the respectful English term “non-Muslim” nor did she teach us about tolerance of Shirk and Kufr and it’s people. She rooted in our hearts hatred for all those who belied Allah and His Messenger ﷺ, and she termed them what translates into English as “devilish people”. So much so, that our common term to refer to anyone who wasn’t Muslim in everyday conversations was “Shaytan people”, and we stuck to that firmly as children, saying things like, “Mama, that Shaytan lady came to me and said this” or “A Shaytan man is standing behind me” etc. We always knew that as Muslims, we were superior to all others and favored by Allah above mankind. She didn’t teach us that we were “American”, in fact, we saw that label as an insult. When other defeatists would say to us “be proud, you’re an American!” she would interject, saying “No, they’re Muslims” and we would always reply indignantly that we were indeed Muslims. And if there was a necessity to use the term, she would always caution us, saying “don’t say what these people say, that you’re an 'American Muslim', but rather say you’re a 'Muslim American' because Islam is your first identity and the most important one”. She made sure that we never had pride over a country that waged war on our religion and our people. Our loyalty was to Islam and the Muslims and no one else. She instilled a strong Islamic identity, and not only an identity, but great pride in that identity as well. While the other Muslim children were insecure and tried to change and erase their differences, Mama made sure that we we strove to maintain a difference with the Kuffar in everything we did." — Shared [Memoirs of My Mother's Tarbiyyah]
