| 8 | Work for the place where no tears are shed, no hearts are broken, no sickness exists, no loved ones depart, and no believer will ever say, “I am tired.”
There is nothing more comforting than placing your complete trust in Allah. When the doors of the creation close, the door of the Creator remains open. Allah is sufficient for His believers. Allah said, “Fear Allah and…” He will guide you, provide you and find for you a way out. You need to trust and fear Allah. These are from the greatest actions of the heart.
Allah said:
“And whosoever fears Allah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty). And He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine. And whosoever puts his trust in Allah, then He will suffice him.”
— Surah At-Talaq, verse 2-3
Keep your heart attached to Allah before it becomes attached to His creation. Your heart needs to be with Allah. Be sincere with Him, rely upon Him, and know with certainty that He never abandons a servant who sincerely turns to Him.
The Prophet ﷺ narrated that Allah said in a Hadith Qudsi:
“I am as My slave thinks of Me, I can do for Him what he thinks I can for him….”
— Bukhari and Muslim
Allah does not fail to fulfil His promises. When you raise your hands in duah, ask with certainty, not hesitation. Ask with hope, not despair. Ask knowing that you are asking the Most Generous, the Most Merciful, the One in whose treasures there is never any decrease. Ask Him with firm determination and good expectation of the outcome.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Call upon Allah while being certain of being answered, and know that Allah does not answer a supplication from a heedless, distracted heart.”
— al-Tirmidhi
Abdullah ibn Mas’ud رضي الله عنه said:
“By Allah, no servant has a good expectation of Allah, whatever that expectation may be, except that Allah grants him what he expected. That is because all goodness is in His Hand.”

| 9 | The Trial Is Temporary, The Reward Is Eternal
Every hardship has an expiry date. Every tear will one day dry. Every sleepless night will become a memory. Every injustice will come to an end.
But what awaits the believer after patience is everlasting bliss.
This world was never meant to be your paradise. Allah created it as a place of examination, not permanent residence.
Allah said:
“He Who has created death and life that He may test you which of you is best in deed.”
— Surah Al-Mulk, verse 2
Consider the traveller. Aman driving across the country stops at a highway service station. He rests for a short while, eats, fills his car with gas, and continues his journey. No sane person spends his life decorating the service station, arguing over who has the finest parking space, or mourning because he must eventually leave.
The believer views the dunya the same way. It is merely a stop on the journey to his real home.
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“What have I to do with this world? My example and the example of this world is only that of a rider who sought shade beneath a tree, then departed and left it behind.”
— al-Tirmidhi
How often do we forget this?
We grieve as though our loss will last forever.
We fear as though hardship will never end.
We chase wealth as though we will live forever.
Yet every trial has an appointed end. If it does not leave before your death, then death itself removes you from it.
Allah said:
“So verily, with the hardship, there is relief. Verily, with the hardship, there is relief.”
— Surah Ash-Sharh, verse 5-6
Notice Allah did not say after hardship comes ease. He said with hardship comes ease.
Even within your trial are blessings you may not yet recognise: sins being erased, ranks being elevated, du’a being answered, hearts returning to Allah, and reliance upon Him becoming sincere.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“How wonderful is the affair of the believer! Verily all of his affairs are good. If something pleasing happens to him, he is grateful and that is good for him. If adversity strikes him, he is patient and that is good for him.”
— Muslim
Reflect upon the story of Yusuf
He was thrown into a well.
Sold as a slave.
Separated from his father for years.
Falsely accused.
Imprisoned despite his innocence.
Had anyone looked only at those moments, they would have thought his life was nothing but hardship. Yet Allah was preparing him for a position that none could have imagined.
The prison was not the end.
The well was not the end.
The betrayal was not the end.
Rather, they were all steps leading him to honour.
Your trial may be preparing you for something you cannot yet see.
Never judge Allah’s plan by today’s pain. Judge it by His perfect wisdom.
Allah said:
“It may be that you dislike a thing and it is good for you.”
— Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 216
The people of Paradise will look back at the longest and most difficult lives on earth as though they experienced only a brief afternoon.
Allah said:
“The Day they see it, it will be as if they had not remained except for an evening or the morning thereof.”
— Surah An-Nazi’at, verse 46
The believer does not ask, “Why am I being tested?” Rather, he asks, “How can I please Allah through this test?”
• Patience during calamity.
• Gratitude during ease.
• Repentance after sin.
• Hope after despair.
• Reliance when every worldly means disappear.
This is the path to Paradise.
So if today you are carrying a burden that feels unbearable, remember:
The night never defeats the dawn.
The winter never defeats the spring.
The grave is not the end.
And your hardship is not forever.
Only Allah is Everlasting.
Only the Hereafter is permanent. | 869 |
| 10 | 🍃 Know Allah in Times of Ease — He Will Know You in Times of Hardship 🍃
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Know Allah in times of ease, and He will know you in times of hardship.”
— Jāmiʿ at-Tirmidhī
Allah says in Hadith Qudsi:
“If he asks Me, I will surely give him; And if he seeks refuge in Me, I will surely protect him.”
— Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī
Not many reflect on how much Maryam worshipped Allah in her youth before her greatest trial ever came.
She lived a life of purity, worship, obedience, and devotion.
She remembered Allah when her world was quiet and tranquil.
She knew Him in her times of prosperity.
Maryam devoted herself to worship and her purity, her worship, her constant remembrance of Allah were not unseen. Allah nurtured her soul and He nourished her body in miraculous ways.
This miracle was witnessed by Zakariyyah
Allah says:
“Every time he (Zakariyyah) entered the Mihrab to (visit) her, he found her supplied with sustenance. He said: ‘O Maryam (Mary)! From where have you got this?’ She said: ‘This is from Allah.’ Verily, Allah provides sustenance to whom He wills, without limit.”
— Surah Aal-‘Imran 3:37
So when the greatest hardship of her life arrived, the loneliness, the accusations, the fear, the uncertainty, Allah unfolded miracles all around her.
When she stood alone in the pain of childbirth, Allah comforted her and said (interpretation of the meaning):
“Do not grieve. Your Lord has placed beneath you a stream.”
— Surah Maryam 19:24
And He provided:
• dates from a dead palm tree
• water from a sudden spring
• divine protection
• tranquility
• vindication in front of her people
Why?
She remembered Allah in ease,
so Allah remembered her in hardship.
🌿 The Secret of Gratitude
Allah says:
“If you are grateful, I will surely increase you.”
— Surah Ibrahim 14:7
He didn’t say “increase you in wealth”
or “increase you in health”
or “increase you in peace”…
He left it open.
Because gratitude opens every door.
And the greatest form of gratitude is not words alone…
It is continuous devotion
Continuous worship
Continuous remembrance
Continuous love for Allah
Because Allah loves the deeds that are consistent, even if they are little.
Gratitude is proven not by the tongue, but by the heart that returns to Him again and again. And the ultimate blessing is to taste the sweetness delight taste of faith.

| 14 | Selling What One Does Not Possess
Q. We sell a commodity before we buy it. After selling it to the customer, we go and purchase it. Is this permissible?
No. One of the conditions of a valid sale is that the seller owns the item and possesses it before selling it.
Allah said:
“O you who believe! Eat not up your property among yourselves unjustly except it be a trade amongst you, by mutual consent.”
— Surah An-Nisa, verse 29
And Allah said:
“Whereas Allah has permitted trading and forbidden Riba (usury).”
— Surah al-Baqarah, verse 275
Permissible trade is that which is free from deception, uncertainty, and unlawful gain.
Hakim ibn Hizam رضي الله عنه said:
قلت: يا رسول الله، يأتيني الرجل فيسألني البيع ليس عندي، أأبتاعه له من السوق؟
فقال رسول الله ﷺ:
«لَا تَبِعْ مَا لَيْسَ عِنْدَكَ»
I said: “O Messenger of Allah, a man comes to me asking me to sell him something which I do not possess. Shall I buy it for him from the market?”
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“Do not sell what you do not possess.”
— al-Tirmidhi
“We used to buy food in bulk, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would send someone to order us to move it from the place where we bought it before selling it.”
— Muslim
And he ﷺ said:
«مَنِ ابْتَاعَ طَعَامًا فَلَا يَبِعْهُ حَتَّى يَسْتَوْفِيَهُ»
“Whoever buys food should not sell it until he has taken possession of it.”
— Bukhari & Muslim
These narrations establish two principles:
• One should not sell what one does not own.
• One should not sell what one has not taken possession of.
Therefore, if a customer purchases a commodity from you while you neither own it nor possess it, and only afterwards you go and purchase it, then this sale is prohibited because it falls under selling what one does not possess.
As for promising the customer that you will obtain the item, then purchasing it and taking possession of it before concluding the sale with him, there is no harm in that.
The Prophet ﷺ prohibited transactions involving deception and uncertainty, and he forbade the causes leading to disputes and consuming wealth unlawfully. The Muslim merchant is not merely concerned with profit, but with blessing (barakah). Wealth acquired through unlawful means may increase in number, but it decreases in blessing.
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
«فَإِنْ صَدَقَا وَبَيَّنَا بُورِكَ لَهُمَا فِي بَيْعِهِمَا، وَإِنْ كَذَبَا وَكَتَمَا مُحِقَتْ بَرَكَةُ بَيْعِهِمَا»
“If both parties speak the truth and clarify, they will be blessed in their transaction. But if they lie and conceal, the blessing of their sale will be erased.”
— Bukhari & Muslim

| 16 | Q. Is it permissible to learn English and Other Languages?
A. Yes. It is permissible. The issue is not with learning a language. Languages are merely tools. What is blameworthy is imitating the disbelief, morals, and corrupt customs of a people.
Allah Almighty said:
“And We did not send any messenger except with the language of his people to make things clear to them.”
— Surah Ibrahim, verse 4
Allah Almighty said:
“And among His signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth and the diversity of your languages and your colors. Indeed, in that are signs for those of knowledge.”
— Surah Ar-Rum, verse 22
This establishes that languages are a means of communication and clarification.
Zayd ibn Thabit رضي الله عنه said:
«أَمَرَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَتَعَلَّمْتُ لَهُ كِتَابَ الْيَهُودِ، وَقَالَ: إِنِّي وَاللَّهِ مَا آمَنُ الْيَهُودَ عَلَى كِتَابِي.»
“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered me to learn the writing of the Jews, saying: ‘By Allah, I do not trust the Jews with my correspondence.’”
— al-Tirmidhi
Thus, learning foreign languages for beneficial purposes is from the guidance of the Prophet ﷺ.
As for the statement:
«مَنْ تَعَلَّمَ لُغَةَ قَوْمٍ أَمِنَ مَكْرَهُمْ»
“Whoever learns the language of a people will be safe from their plot.”
Although it is weak (da’if), its meaning is sound.
And there are many benefits of learning other languages. From amongst them includes:
• Conveying Islam and calling others to Allah.
• Seeking knowledge and benefiting from scholars and books.
• Understanding people and communicating with them.
• Protecting oneself from deception and misunderstanding.
• Translating Islamic knowledge and spreading the truth.
• Facilitating trade, travel, and other beneficial worldly affairs.
• Following the example of Zayd ibn Thabit
Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله said:
“Language is from the greatest signs of Allah and from the distinguishing characteristics by which nations are recognised.”
— Majmu’ al-Fatawa
Learning English or any other language is permissible. It may even become recommended or obligatory when it serves Islam, protects the Muslims, or aids in conveying the message of Allah. The problem is not in learning the language of a people. The problem is when one learns the language of a people and admires their falsehood, imitates and adopts their falsehood, their morals, beliefs, and ways. Abandoning his own identity or mixing it. The believer takes wisdom and benefit wherever it may be found while remaining firm upon his Aqidah (creed).

| 19 | We can argue and dispute with anyone and everyone but you cannot dispute with Allah. You cannot ask Allah why He does this or why He doesn’t do that. It’s Allah. This is the way. Sometimes it gets hard, sometimes difficulty succumbs us but Allah does not burden a soul more than it can bare. Verily with hardship comes ease. That’s why we have to remember that this life is only temporary, it’s a test. That crunching pain in the heart does disappear, and life will resume after you’ve overcome your hurdles. You’ll come out better and with higher faith for indeed Allah is always there, He does not sleep nor does He slumber! That’s why we have to prioritise, so if you ever find yourself in a situation where you don’t know what to do, prioritise. Allah before anything. What comes first is pleasing Allah, and naturally after that everything will fall in line.
