So, let’s say the Spanish boy then finds a short letter written by the English boy - and it refers to “The man is an underdog”.
His theoretical interpretation of this man, might be that he is under the dog, in terms of social standing. That he is something like a slave, below in status than even a dog.
And he might build on that and build on that and build on that.

One never experiences the abstract of a thing first. He must first experience it, he then makes abstractions.
Therefore the consciousness is not an empty container but a very full one, deeply engrained in the particularities of experience.
Whenever I consider the Bible, for example - I do not consider it from the prevailing theories that we are told from the churches, but as a testimony of experiences - which, yes, have been interpreted and abstracted a certain way … after the experience. But to return to the experience itself, as testified, and understand that even this testimony is being colored by pre-existing directed relations - so it may describe the man as a messenger of God … as this remains the context.
But if we practice a phenomenological reduction of the directed relation, we can come to a plainer appreciation of the event itself.
So for example - if you see a strange craft that abducts you … you could say it’s an alien from outer space. But that’s your perspective based on an inherited theory.
