رضا الناس غاية لا تدرك، فعليك بما يصلحك فالزمه فإنه لا سبيل إلى رضاهم

Order of preference for the Imam in the Hanbali Madhab

Shaykh Ahmad al Quaymi حفظه الله explains: What is meant by الأقرأ in the madhab: the one that is proficient in recitation, not the one who has memorised more. And meant by proficiency: knowledge of tajweed and makharij al huroof. And what is meant by the one knowledge of the fiqh of Salah: ie. The description of Salah, its conditions, its pillars, its obligations, its nullified… and the proficient reciter who is knowledgable of the ahkam is given precedence to lead over the one that solely has knowledge of the ahkaam. And what’s meant here: the knowledgable one that does not recite well.

The Wiping of the Face After Duʼa — Shaykh ʿAbd al-Hakim al-ʿAjlan حفظه الله The mashhur (well-known position) in the Hanbali madhhab is that one wipes the face with the hands after du'a, based on the hadith of ʿUmar, which Ibn Hajar regarded as hasan, despite criticism concerning its wording and isnad. The Hanbaliyah may have considered the combined routes sufficient to raise the hadith to hasan li-ghayrihi. The second riwayah of the Hanbaliyah, preferred by a number of verifying scholars and followed in fatwa by many contemporary shaykhs, is that the reports concerning wiping the face are defective and do not provide sufficient corroboration to rely upon. This follows the position of Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله. Thus, both positions have a basis: wiping the face has support, while leaving it is the position upon which fatwa and practice are generally based among those following the second riwayah. Shaykh Ahmad al Quaymi mentions that combining the intention of the takbiratul ihram with that takbiratul intiqal is invalid. Rather, the takbiratul ihram is a pillar which you must do, whereas takbiratul intiqal is a wajib.
