Repost from ســفيـنة الصـابريـن
O Sisters, Make Use of Your Time
If a female student of knowledge truly understood how occupied she would become after marriage, by Allah, she would seize every opportunity she has before marriage. She would make the most of her free time, seeking knowledge while also fulfilling her responsibilities towards her family.
After marriage, responsibilities increase. The home, husband, and children have rights that must be fulfilled, and a woman has to give them their due. This does not mean she stops seeking knowledge, but the amount of time and freedom she has for studying can change greatly.
Take advantage of your free time, O sisters. Do not keep saying, “I will study later.” You have time now, so use it now.
So learn your Deen while you have the opportunity. Sit in lessons. Read. Revise. Ask questions. Build your foundation now. The free time you have today will not always be yours. Do not wait until you lose it to realise its value.
Leave your homeland in pursuit of greatness,
And travel, for in travel there are five benefits:
تفرُّجُ همٍّ واكتسابُ معيشةٍ
Relief from sorrow, a means of earning a livelihood,
Knowledge, refined manners, and the company of noble people.
And if it is said that travel brings hardship and humiliation,
Crossing vast deserts and enduring difficulties,
Then the death of a young man is better for him than a life
In a land of disgrace, among slanderers and the envious.” | 303 |

| 4 | “Some people don’t distinguish between Tamadhub and Ta’assub”
Shaykh Amir mentions a few points:
- tamadhub applies to any path you take in any field
- example: medicine - different countries will have different curriculums. so you follow the one taught to you in the land, you become firm in this curriculum first before you branch into others.
- once you pass this initial stage, then you’d start to see which curriculum you think is better and stronger
- once you reach a high level in medicine, you can differ and do as you wish, there’s no problem in this
the exact same applies to fiqh and the madahib! it’s a means, not the end goal. tamadhub is permissible, whereas ta’assub isn’t. | 275 |

| 11 | Madrasah is opening up again, and one big problem amongst young girls is the lack of education around haydh and its Ahkaam
We’ve seen the following issues:
• Lack of knowledge of the Ahkaam (especially when they first begin their haydh, there is confusion)
• They don’t count the days of their haydh properly
• They’re unable to distinguish the haydh blood from other types
• Delaying ghusl, therefore delaying their salawat
• And in some cases, we’ve seen girls claiming they’re on their haydh when they’re not
Each of the issues above require serious attention and nurturing from the teachers. Particularly the last one, as we don’t want our children to grow up thinking lying about haydh to miss studies is okay
General advice:
• Regularly quizzing them on the Ahkaam. They’re new to this knowledge, and the numbers and rulings are confusing for grown people, let alone young girls just starting out
• Listen. Ask them about their concerns. Ask them why they don’t count the days properly, or why they delay ghusl. You can tell a lot about children when you are open to hearing them and helping
• Advise them to keep a separate notebook for counting the days. Or for the older girls with phones, guiding them to apps is helpful
Please treat the girls with kindness. They’re much softer and often just scared and confused when it comes to these issues
May Allaah preserve them all | 391 |

📖 Imam al-Sa’di mentions in the Tafsir of this ayah, in summary:
Allaah gives you everything you need attached to your hopes and needs: your food your shelter your tools — whether you asked Him for them implicitly or explicitly. If you were to count these blessings, you could never enumerate them. Humans are ungrateful, and this is the natural state of a person. He sins, he’s negligent of what Allaah orders him to do, he falls short in thanking Allaah for blessings.
Except for those who Allaah guides, so they thank Allaah for the blessings and recognise the Haqq Allaah has over them, and he fulfils them.
In this verse and the likes of it, Allaah is calling His servants to thank and remember Him, urging His servants to call upon him night and day, just as His blessings upon us are oft repeated upon us at all times.
—
We often focus on what we don’t have. We focus on the lack of rizq, the lack of companionship, the lack of health — not knowing that if we focused on what we do have, we’d be in a constant state of shukr to Allaah. Life is tough, without a doubt, but if you stop and reflect on just how blessed you are by Allaah, you will feel the ache in your heart ease.
Instead of focusing on what and who has left you, focus on what and who has stayed. Because that’s what’s been written for you at present. The things you don’t have right now aren’t your blessings to have in this moment. If it were good for you in this moment, do you not think your Lord would grant you them?
All praise is for Allaah, the Lord who has never forsaken us.🌸 | 502 |
