﴿والذين يقولونَ ربَّنا هَبْ لنا من أزواجِنا﴾؛ أي: قُرَنائِنا من أصحابٍ وأقرانٍ وزوجاتٍ، ﴿وذُرِّيَّاتِنا قُرَّةَ أعينٍ﴾؛ أي: تَقَرُّ بهم أعيننا، وإذا اسْتَقْرَأنا حالَهم وصفاتِهِم؛ عَرَفْنا من هِمَمِهِم وعلوِّ مرتبتِهِم [أنَّهم لا تَقَرُّ أَعْيُنُهم حَتَّى يَرَوهُم مُطِيعين لربِّهم عَالِمين عَامِلين وهذا كما أنه دعاء لأزواجهم] وذُرِّيَّاتِهم في صلاحهم؛ فإنَّه دعاءٌ لأنفسهم؛ لأنَّ نفعه يعودُ عليهم، ولهذا جعلوا ذلك هبةً لهم، فقالوا: ﴿هَبْ لنا﴾، بل دعاؤهم يعودُ إلى نفع عموم المسلمين؛ لأنَّ بِصَلاحِ مَنْ ذُكِرَ يكونُ سبباً لصلاح كثيرٍ ممَّن يتعلَّق بهم وينتفعُ بهم.

The Ruling on Dyeing Hair Black: Three Common Scenarios
Question:Shaykh, may Allah bless you. My question is about dyeing the hair black. There are three situations: First situation: Is it permissible for someone whose hair is naturally black to dye it black in order to make the black colour stronger and improve its appearance? Second situation: If a woman naturally has black hair but changes it to another colour, such as yellow (blonde) or red, then later wants to return it to its original black colour, is it permissible for her to dye it black? And the third situation, may Allah bless you: Is it permissible to use black henna, known as black hair dye?
Sheikh Uthaymin rahimahullah:As for dyeing grey hair black, this is not permissible because the Prophet ﷺ commanded that grey hair be changed and said: "Avoid black." There is also a narration containing a warning for those who do this. Furthermore, it goes against the way Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, created a person. This is one reason. As for someone who dyes black hair black to make it even darker, I do not think this comes under the same ruling, because the original colour of the hair is already black. Even so, I believe it is better that he does not do it. As for someone who dyed naturally black hair another colour and then wanted to return it to black, there is no problem with that, because they are only restoring it to its original natural colour. Every time you open the Mushaf or think about your Hifdh goals, you remember the people who memorised more.
Every Islamic class you attend, the progress of those in advanced levels bothers you.
The revision sessions, tests and exams remind you how much more your peers seem to know.
Slowly, the joy of seeking knowledge turns into a race that leaves you exhausted and frustrated.
You begin to wonder whether Allah gave others His Tawfeeq and withheld it from you, and maybe as a result of that, you fall behind.
But stop for a moment.
Who told you that Allah measures His servants by how quickly they memorise? By how much they know? By whether they are ahead of everyone else?
Allah says:
وَهُوَ الَّذِي جَعَلَكُمْ خَلَائِفَ الْأَرْضِ وَرَفَعَ بَعْضَكُمْ فَوْقَ بَعْضٍ دَرَجَاتٍ لِّيَبْلُوَكُمْ فِي مَا آتَاكُمْ
"And it is He who has made you successors upon the earth and has raised some of you above others in degrees of rank - that He may try you through what He has given you." (Surah al-An'am 6:165)
Not every servant was given the same memory. Nor does every servant carry the same responsibilities, struggles, or circumstances.
The differences between you and others were placed by Allah Himself - not as a verdict, but as a test.
Perhaps the race you've been running is one Allah never told you to enter. His command was:
فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ
"So have Taqwa of Allah as much as you are able." (Surah at-Taghabun 64:16)
And His measure has always been different:
إِنَّ أَكْرَمَكُمْ عِندَ اللَّهِ أَتْقَاكُمْ
"Indeed, the noblest of you in the sight of Allah is the one with the most Taqwa." (Surah al-Hujurat 49:13)
You have made pages, lessons, and speed the measure of your worth. The Salaf measured themselves by sincerity, Taqwa, and acting upon what they knew.
Allah will not ask how quickly you finished memorising His Book. He may ask how much of it you lived by.
The greatest tragedy is not being slower than others. The greatest tragedy is allowing Shaytan to convince you that because you are not as fast or as sharp as others, you might as well leave the path entirely.
Every Ayah you struggle to memorise is known to Allah.
Every page you revise is seen by Him.
Every effort you make to understand His Speech is recorded with Him.
Every attempt to live by them is rewarded by Him.
After all... Is He not Ash-Shakoor?
As long as you keep returning to the Qur'an and to your Deen, you have not failed.
You only fail the day you say: "This path is not for me", and walk away.

💐 Advice from Shaykh Ahmad Al Quaymi:
A majlis sama’ is not giving you ijazah al tafaquh.
Reading a book once in a few hours is not how you build knowledge. There’s barakah in the majlis, but it is not going to give you the knowledge. You build knowledge by studying seriously with hard work and consistency.
