Shaykh Al Barrak: “… Because this is the objective of knowledge (to act upon it), and the objective is not to merely acquire issues in the mind. The goal of Islamic knowledge is: attaining/ perfecting imaan and righteous actions, so knowledge without action is a burden upon its possessor, and a proof against him, we seek refuge in Allaah.”

Ibn Abi Ya'la narrates in Tabaqat al-Hanabilah, through his chain of narration, that Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal (may Allah have mercy on him) was brought before the Caliph al-Mu'tasim. In his presence were Ahmad ibn Abi Du'ad, a leading figure of the Mu'tazilah, and Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Shafi'i, who had been one of Imam al-Shafi'i's most knowledgeable students but had later departed from his methodology.
Imam Ahmad was seated before the Caliph, having already been subjected to severe threats and intimidation, and two men had even been executed right before his eyes.
Despite this, Imam Ahmad turned to Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Shafi'i and calmly asked him, "What do you recall from Imam al-Shafi'i regarding the ruling on wiping (over socks, etc) in purification?"
Upon hearing this, Ibn Abi Du'ad exclaimed in astonishment, "Look at this man! He is about to be executed, yet he is discussing matters of Islamic jurisprudence!"

To have a teacher that impacts you for life is a great blessing
The first example that comes to mind is Shaykh Abdul Qayyum حفظه الله with Shaykh bin Baz رحمه الله
There’s rarely a lesson that Shaykh Abdul Qayyum does without mentioning Shaykh Bin Baz in some way — whether it is his actions or his aqwaal. You can see the legacy Shaykh bin Baz left behind through the way he’s talked about in lesson
Shaykh al-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله said:
"The scholar, the teacher and the one who teaches etiquettes are fathers of the soul, and the parent is a father to the body."

What is meant by الأقرأ in the madhab: the one that is proficient in recitation, not the one who has memorised more.
And meant by proficiency: knowledge of tajweed and makharij al huroof.
And what is meant by the one knowledge of the fiqh of Salah: ie. The description of Salah, its conditions, its pillars, its obligations, its nullified… and the proficient reciter who is knowledgable of the ahkam is given precedence to lead over the one that solely has knowledge of the ahkaam.
And what’s meant here: the knowledgable one that does not recite well.
