🔆 BEYOND E20: INDIA’S FLEX-FUEL TRANSITION 🔆 What’s in the News? 🟢 The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) amended the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, to expressly include E100 alongside E85 in emission certification. 🟢 The amendment creates a regulatory pathway for Flex-Fuel Vehicles (FFVs), taking India beyond the E20 blending stage. 🟢 It is an enabling measure, not a mandatory fuel-switching requirement. 🔆 Understanding Ethanol Fuels 📍 Ethanol: Alcohol (C₂H₅OH) produced by fermenting sugars or starch.
