ويكثر في كتب الأدب الموسعة نوادر ماجنة مجونًا كنائيًا مستلطفًا، دالاً على براعة في الوصف أو سرعة البديهة، وهذه السمات هي التي أغرت بتدوينها، وممن أكثر رواية هذا الضرب ابنُ عبد ربه، فعنده تجد مثلاً قول الرجل الكبير الذي سئل عن خصومته مع عجوزه، فقال: (ذهب الذي يصلح بيننا). وهذا جوابٌ ماجن الباطن، والشواهد المماثلة له كثيرة في العقد وغيره، ويقترن بها نوادر صريحة، وأبقى مع كتاب (العقد الفريد)؛ ليتأكد عندك ترددهم بين الصراحة والكناية، ففيه أن رجلاً سأل امرأة جميلة عن سبب زواجها برجل دميم، فقالت: (لو استدبرك بالذي يستقبلني به لعظُم في عينك). - منقول هذا الجانب مهم من الأدب العربي، وهو أدب النوادر والمجون، وليس شرطا فيه الفحش والسوقية، بل كانت تأتي غالبا في صيغة كناية ذكية أو تعبير خفي فيه سرعة بديهة وحسن التصرف بالكلام، وهذا ما جعل رواة الأدب يكثرون من تدوينها في كتبهم.

القوة ليست نقيضا للأخلاق، بل هي شرطها التأسيسي، فلا يمكن للأخلاق أن تترجم إلى أنظمة ومؤسسات مستقرة ما لم تؤسس أولا على قاعدة من القوة القادرة على حماية هذه القيم، وردع من ينقضها. كل إمبراطورية عرفها التاريخ لم تبدأ بمبادئ، بل بحد السيف، وتسويات دامية، وحروب وجود، ثم جاءت أجيال لاحقة لتعيد تأويل ما حدث بالعدالة، وتكسوه بمفردات الأخلاق، وتسعى إلى تنظيمه ضمن مؤسسات ونظم تشريعية، لكن الأساس الأول كان القوة، لا الخطابة، وهذا ما تنكؤه القراءات الطوباوية للتاريخ وتسقط هذا الجانب التكويني.
