Recommended tests👇 To identify root cause Estradiol (E2) Progesterone (mid-luteal phase) FSH, LH AMH (if fertility is affected) Liver function tests Thyroid panel Pelvic ultrasound Prolactin (if cycles are irregular) High estrogen is often not about excess production alone. It is usually a clearance problem or a progesterone imbalance. Real correction comes from identifying the underlying cause, not just suppressing estrogen. Estrogen dominance and high estrogen are often confused, but they are not exactly the same thing. Let’s break it down in a simple and relatable way. High estrogen means your body is producing or holding on to too much estrogen. It could be caused by things like poor liver function, hormone therapy, exposure to hormone-disrupting chemicals in food or personal care products, stress, or excess body fat. When this happens, your estrogen levels are simply higher than they should be for a healthy cycle. Estrogen dominance, on the other hand, is more about imbalance. It happens when estrogen levels are high in comparison to progesterone, even if your estrogen is technically within the normal range. So the real problem is that progesterone is too low to keep estrogen in check. This creates a hormonal environment where estrogen becomes “dominant,” causing symptoms like mood swings, breast tenderness, weight gain around the hips, bloating, irregular periods, and sometimes even fertility struggles. In summary: High estrogen = too much estrogen Estrogen dominance = too much estrogen relative to progesterone Both can affect your health and fertility, but knowing which one you’re dealing with makes a big difference in finding the right support and solutions. Always speak to a healthcare provider or hormone expert if you're not sure which one applies to you.

You can have a monthly period and still suffer from hidden hormone imbalances. A regular cycle doesn’t always mean your body is ovulating or producing hormones in the right amounts. Your menstrual cycle is only one sign of hormone health but not the only one. You might blêëd every month, but still experience: • No ovulation (anovulatory cycles) • Low progesterone • High estrogen (estrogen dominance) • Thyroid dysfunction • Elevated prolactin or cortisol

Myth: Estrogen is only important for women. Belief: Many assume estrogen is female-only and testosterone is male-only. This misconception arises because estrogen is linked to periods, pregnancy, and menopause. Truth: Both men and women have estrogen; women have higher levels, men have lower. Despite lower levels, estrogen is vital for men's health. Why Men Need Estrogen: • Bone health: Maintains bone density; deficiency accelerates weakening and fracture risk. • Heart health: Regulates cholesterol, protecting the heart and blood vessels. • Brain function: Supports memory, focus, and mood stability. • Fertility and sexual health: Balances sperm quality and sex drive. Consequences of Imbalance in Men: • Too little: Low libido. • Too much Conclusion: Estrogen is not gender-specific; it is about balance. Labeling it "female-only" obscures its importance in men and delays recognizing health issues. Both genders require the right amount for proper bodily function.

Estrogen and the Menstrual Cycle The menstrual cycle is often misunderstood. Many people see it as nothing more than a countdown to a period, a mark on the calendar, or a monthly inconvenience. But in truth, it is much more than that. The cycle is a continuous, living conversation between the brain, the ovaries, and the womb. And in that conversation, estrogen speaks with a very clear voice. At the start of the cycle, just after bleeding ends, estrogen begins to rise gently. This rise is like the first notes of a song. It tells the womb to begin building a soft lining, preparing a home in case a seed will need to be planted. You can think of it as soil being watered and cared for, so that it will be ready for life to grow if the time comes. As estrogen continues to climb, it also turns its attention to the ovaries, supporting the growth of a healthy egg. This is a careful process, a sign of nature’s patience. Around the middle of the cycle, when estrogen reaches its peak, it helps trigger another hormone signal that allows the egg to be released. This moment is ovulation, the point where the body is most ready for new life. After ovulation, estrogen does not step away. Instead, it works closely with another hormone, progesterone. Together, they support and maintain the lining of the womb, keeping everything balanced until the cycle is ready to complete. If no pregnancy occurs, estrogen and progesterone slowly fall, and this drop signals the womb to release the lining. This release is what we know as menstruation, and the cycle begins again. When estrogen is too low or too high compared to other hormones, the rhythm can shift. Periods may become lighter or heavier than usual. The cycle may arrive earlier or later than expected. Energy may dip suddenly, or moods may swing in ways that feel confusing. These changes are not punishments. They are signals. They are the body’s way of saying something needs attention, whether it is rest, nutrition, stress relief, or medical guidance. This is why learning to track your cycle is one of the kindest things you can do for yourself. Write down when your period starts and ends. Notice your energy levels. Pay attention to your mood, your sleep, and even small changes in appetite. Over time, a pattern begins to appear, and those patterns give you knowledge. With knowledge, you can plan your life with more understanding, giving yourself grace on days when energy is low, and using your stronger days for tasks that need more focus. Cycle tracking also helps you have clearer conversations with a health professional if you ever need support. Instead of saying “something feels off,” you can point to specific patterns, and that makes it easier for them to guide you well. The bigger truth is this. The menstrual cycle is not just about bleeding. It is about rhythm, balance, and the flow of life inside the body. Estrogen plays one of the leading roles in that rhythm. When you understand its part, you learn to see your cycle not as a burden, but as a story your body tells every month. A story of preparation, release, and renewal. Balance is always possible. And understanding—gentle, patient understanding—is the first step.

Estrogen is a key hormone responsible for ovulation, menstrual cycle regulation, and preparation of the uterine lining for pregnancy. When levels are too low, the reproductive system slows down or becomes irregular. Low estrogen is not just a “menopause issue.” It can happen at any reproductive age. Common causes of low estrogen👇 Premature ovarian insufficiency (early reduced ovarian function). Perimenopause or menopause. High stress affecting brain hormone signals (hypothalamic suppression). Very low body fat or restrictive eating. Excessive exercise. Pituitary gland disorders. Long-term breastfeeding. Effects of chemotherapy or radiation. Possible signs; Irregular or absent periods Difficulty conceiving Vaginal dryness Low libido Fatigue and poor sleep Mood changes or anxiety Hot flushes in some women. Foods that support low estrogen balance; Focus is on hormone production support and overall reproductive nourishment. Healthy fats; Avocado, olive oil, nuts, seeds Protein; Eggs, fish, lean meats, legumes Phytoestrogen foods; Flaxseeds, sesame seeds, soy (whole fermented forms only) Whole grains for metabolic support Iron-rich foods if deficiency is present (leafy greens, liver, beans). Foods to avoid or reduce;👇 Very low-fat diets (hormones require fat) Excess caffeine Alcohol Highly processed foods Extreme calorie restriction. Herbal teas that may support low estrogen balance. Red Clover Tea – contains phytoestrogens that may gently support estrogen activity Shatavari – supports female reproductive function and cycle regulation Maca Root Tea – supports hormone regulation via brain–ovary signalling Fennel Tea – mild phytoestrogen support and cycle regulation Raspberry Leaf Tea – supports uterine tone and reproductive health. Dong Quai – traditional support for cycle regulation and blood flow. Recommended tests👇 To confirm cause and guide treatment. Estradiol (E2) level FSH, LH (Day 2–3 of cycle). AMH (ovarian reserve) Prolactin Thyroid panel (TSH, FT3, FT4) Pelvic ultrasound (antral follicle count)

If you have hormone imbalance, what you eat at night matters more than you think. Sugary drinks and desserts White bread, pastries and refined carbohydrates Highly processed snacks like chips Large heavy meals just before bed Excess caffeine late in the day Alcohol These spike your blood sugar and insulin right when your body should be resting and repairing. Over time this disrupts your hormones even more. A few simple bedtime combinations that actually support your hormones: Greek yogurt with ground flaxseed and blueberries A handful of pumpkin seeds and walnuts Half an avocado with a boiled egg Chia pudding made with unsweetened almond milk One kiwi with a handful of almonds These options are gentle on your body, support hormone balance and will not leave you with that heavy bloated feeling in the morning. Small changes at night. Big difference over time. Moretti Joy Cares ❤️

Symptoms of Estrogen Imbalance Estrogen is a gentle but powerful hormone. When it is in balance, the body feels steady and alive. But when it is too low or too high compared to other hormones, the body sends signals. These signals are not punishments, they are messages. Learning to read them helps you take better care of yourself. Some common signs of low estrogen include: • Irregular or missed periods • Hot flashes or night sweats • Vaginal dryness or discomfort • Lower libido • Mood swings, anxiety, or low mood • Trouble with memory or focus • Bone or joint aches Some common signs of high estrogen include: • Heavy or painful periods • Bloating and water retention • Swollen or tender breasts • Weight gain, especially around hips and thighs • Mood swings or irritability • Headaches • Trouble sleeping Every woman’s body is unique, so not all symptoms will show up the same way. Sometimes they are subtle. Sometimes they arrive in clusters. What matters is noticing patterns. If you see yourself in these signs, do not panic. Imbalance is not a life sentence, it is a signal. Stress, food, sleep, age, and even the environment can affect estrogen levels. Small changes—balanced meals, movement, stress care, and rest—can often help. And if symptoms feel heavy or confusing, the kindest step is to reach out to a professional who can guide you with care and respect.

What causes pain during sex for women? I know most of you will say infection or hormones right!! But really what happens when there’s no infection and hormones imbalance. Why the pain !!! Have you ever heard of Vaginal stenosis? Vaginal stenosis is a condition in which the vagina becomes narrowed, causing pain during intercourse. This can be caused by scar tissue . This condition can be debilitating for some women and can make it difficult for them to have sex. It is important to understand what vaginal stenosis is and how it can be treated so that you can take care of yourself or a loved one who has this condition. Women who have had vaginal surgery are at risk for vaginal stenosis. This includes women who have had a hysterectomy or a C-section. Women who have used certain medications or been treated with radiation therapy may also be at risk. There are several treatments available for vaginal stenosis. These include medication, physical therapy, and surgery. Physical therapy include pelvic floor exercises. And natural home remedies to treat this includes taking one cup of calendula tea . Calendula or marigolds helps treat scar tissues which can also be a cause of stenosis . One cup of calendula Boils with 2 cups of water for 10 minutes. Allow to cool and drink . Joy Moretti👑👑👑
