| 3 | A Levels Questions (2012-2025).pdf | 139 |
| 4 | Content lessons from other teachers would typically focus on just giving facts and information. But our class does it differently. I focus heavily on how we can craft arguments and support them with specific examples, to answer actual GP questions.
And these questions are organised into the major themes that come out the most frequently. Also, the questions I have chosen would cover 90% of possible questions for a Theme.
So next week's Example Workshop would be a very helpful and systematic approach to prepare us to confidently attempt various questions, in a very short period of time :)
You can see it in the resource I have shared where I have analysed all the A Level questions into these Topics, to help students gain a solid structure over how we can study for GP content | 136 |
| 5 | FAQ: Should I write my counter first, or is it something like counter, my view, counter, my view?
Answer: I usually recommend that we write our counter-arguments (CA) first because what comes after would have more impact. What comes after will have the chance to respond to what has been said. In other, writing our CA first allows us to respond to the CA and explain why we have chosen our view over the CA. This is quite important because it expresses a strong view even while we show balance.
Switching between CA and our view back and forth could make it quite confusing for readers. We could also run the risk of sounding contradictory. It's better to separate them neatly and allow for a more coherent read. If we want to put out CA at the end, that's alright too but we must make sure we use the right transition phrases to avoid sounding contradictory #FAQ

| 7 | Essay Points of the Day: Politics - This question examines the pros and cons of Democracy, and invites students to compare it with other political systems. To do well, we need to identify key features that define Democracies, and then explain whether those are positive or negative

| 8 | _General Tip__: You're not in this journey alone! Divide and conquer is something that can make GP a lot easier, given that it's a content-heavy subject and in fact research-heavy. Collaborate with friends, share our vocabulary lists or share our content/examples compilation so that we can cover more ground with the same amount of time. It would also help to specialise in some similar themes. For example, every week, we can each find 2 interesting examples relating to that theme + 10 new vocab words, and then exchange that with a friend, or even a few friends. The idea is to generate a lot more resources that everyone can benefit from. Collaboration can also be applied to other subjects. It was something I did as a student and it greatly helped my grades and also friendships because we bonded over this. Of course, you can also "collaborate" with me by singing up for a few lessons to get tons of arguments, examples, and vocab haha #General | 263 |
| 9 | _FAQ: For 'in your society' questions, can I use examples from other countries? Or has to only be about Singapore?__
Answer: 'In your society' essay questions have a specific focus on the local context. This means that the arguments and examples should all be relevant for the situation in Singapore. Doing well for such questions requires a very nuanced and keen understanding of Singapore, including the perspectives, the issues and the recent events relating to the topic
If we wish to bring in examples from other countries, we may only do so as a point of comparison. This is to say we shouldn't just talk about some overseas example without relating it to Singapore. We can only use it to explain similarities or differences, and it would be best to follow-up with a corresponding local example #FAQ

| 10 | ZA Weekly Lessons Info.pdf | 264 |
| 11 | Remember to access the sample lessons when you are free. And if you enjoyed more of this, definitely consider joining us to dive deeper into GP. Although we do have a track record of 90% A/B, the A grades usually belong to students who have attended more ZAscesnsion lessons.
If you're interested to join our weekly lessons, there are available slots for Mon and Wed 7.30pm. Or, you may consider the upcoming Example Boost Workshop from late Jun-July. Check out the PDF below to understand how ZA lessons are significantly different from other GP lessons | 257 |
| 12 | Essay Points of the Day: A very common question that looks at our attitudes towards music in Singapore. The ideas can be generalised to other questions that look at the arts. What's important in this one is to ensure we can fully flesh out the unique characteristics of Singapore, to properly engage with the Context modifier in this question #Instagram | 278 |
| 13 | If you enjoy the content I have been sharing, please consider joining the class to support my work. Or if you can't, at least share these with a friend. This would really mean a lot to me 🙏 | 311 |
| 14 | Take note that this is distinct from the Content Crash Course which will start in Aug. CCC focuses on model essays and paragraph crafting, while the Example Workshop quickly delivers examples and arguments. They are meant to be completely complementary :) More details on CCC will also be released nearer to to Aug | 320 |
| 15 | Reach out for more info about the schedule and fees: https://wa.me/6597223187 | 229 |
| 16 | The main highlights of the lessons include:
1. Tons of examples (over 150+ total across 5 Themes)
2. All carefully Curated to ensure they are recent + major
3. Explanation of how we can form arguments from there
4. Highlighting of key vocab to express such nuanced arguments
5. My verbal sharing of how we connect examples and actual GP questions
Each example is also like a story, where we will focus on 1 idea but still find tons of ways to apply the Example! In just a few lessons, you can greatly boost your content knowledge | 291 |

| 20 | I'm going to share a short sample lesson of what the Example Boost Workshop will be like, access the recording to learn 2 key examples. Even if you don't plan to join, these will still be very valuable examples to learn.
Each Essay lesson, we will share 30 examples, giving a brief overview of the facts and emphasising the significance where we craft arguments from these facts and link it to actual GP questions. This gives students a lot of confidence to apply these examples to their Essays! | 287 |
