4. Read through the answer key of different Prelim papers. Get a sense of the common paraphrasing, as well as understand the actual rigour and requirement of the different Compre sections 5. Work on SAQ question types that you are weakest in. Figure this out by looking at your past tests or practices 6. Of course, also brush up on SG examples for both AQ and IYS Essay questions

FAQ: In 1 week what's my priority? 1. Brush up on vocab, as many words as you can because this affects not just Essay Lang and Content depth, but also Compre paraphrasing 2. Sort out your Essay Content. Find my A Level trends + short recording analysis above to get a really informed perspective on what ACTUALLLY comes out, rather than just hope you have something to answer. Then, prepare accordingly. Reminder that the top 3 Themes are in fact Indv Values, Arts, Politics. Not Sci Tech, Media, Environment or any others (though these can be your secondary themes) 3. Pay attention to Essay Arguments. Stop thinking of GP as only Examples. Essays that score masterfully evaluate their examples to showcase the logic and argument. This is extremely crucial 4. FAQ: Can I transfer my knowledge from other subjects to GP? Like econs stuff, or history or physics Answer: I think there are still important distinctions between a GP essay and other essays for Economics, History or any other humanities subjects. Those essays could feature more concepts or technicalities that are unique to the subject. In GP, we focus a lot more on arguments. Also, i guess you are assuming that the question is a lso a very specific one tied to a subject (which is actually not that common). That being said, there's still a lot of value in knowledge from other areas because GP is ultimately about current affairs and perspectives across various disciplines. For instance, a lot of history's knowledge can be applied to questions for politics while knowledge for physics and chem could help in Science Tech questions. Just remember to make it relevant to the question #FAQ Got questions? Pose it to the ZAscension GP Genie 🧞‍♂️: https://tinyurl.com/yczxp2dq

FAQ: What do I have to do when the essay question has 2 variables? Answer: A common mistake students have is dedicating different paragraphs to different variables. For instance, if the question has 'environment' and 'economy', students may discuss environment in one paragraph and discuss environment in the next, with no overlaps. The right approach is to actually discuss both variables in every paragraph, in every point. The question focuses on the relationship between the variables. Hence, we would have to address this comparative element consciously and consistently throughout the essay #FAQ Got questions? Pose it to the ZAscension GP Genie 🧞‍♂️: https://tinyurl.com/yczxp2dq

Crash course FAQ: 1. Is there even enough time? I'm not sure if I should do lessons now? There absolutely is. But every day is significant, the goal is to try and finish 1 lesson in about 2-3 days. From there, it gives you almost all the content needed, which is basically ensuring that no matter how you did GP for the past years, you are on the same page for what is required in the A Levels 2. Can I absord so much content? Since you mentioned there are 150+ Arguments, 300+ examples Yes because a key focus is I will explain the similarities across arguments used in different questions, showing how we can tweak slightly to use the same logic on very different questions because we really understand what a question wants to focus on. Even examples are specially curated by me to be the major ones which can easily be used across multiple questions. Once you see the connections, it makes so much sense 3. Why do I need these content lessons? I think I'm okay for content? In the key Themes I have shared, are you able to confidently manage at least 3 of them? This means most of the time, no matter what qn is asked for that Theme, you can quite confidently answer it. The truth is most students are not well-prepared because they usually either A: focus on the wrong themes entirely (missing out on Individuals Values or Arts, the 2 most major Themes) or B: they have a brief impression but don't actually know the common critical arguments used, and they rely on very weak examples that are either outdated, or vague, or trivial 4. I'm really not sure if this helps me if I'm really not doing well Yes it can because many students have been in the same position, and they often share how game-changing the crash course is. You can read the student sharing in the PDF I have shared and hear from them first hand, how it makes GP so much easier and all the grade jumps from Prelims to A Levels being so common after they do the CC :)

And here's a short snippet of a Turbo Lesson (full video has been shared above). How do we write an effective Point? How long does it have to be? Why is my point often marked as NATQ? Why does my point feel descriptive and not argumentative? All these questions can be answered in here, so do check out the vid 😃

_Essay Skill Tip__: Pay attention to the scope required in an essay. If argumentation gives the depth of an essay, scope gives the breadth. Having a comprehensive scope means discussing different aspects of a topic/issue. Imagine if the question looks at AI and student X only talks about AI replacing humans, whereas student Y discusses that + AI solving problems, AI helping humans overcome limitations, and AI furthering discrimination. Student X would have been too narrow in only examining 1 perspective. However, if student Z goes on to look at other technologies like gene-editing, communication and VR, that would end up including peripheral/irrelevant points. Student Z would have been too broad in going beyond what the question wants to examine. The scope must be handled perfectly, avoiding being too narrow or too broad #Essay

_General Tip__: It's important to have a mental gameplan when approaching the GP exam, or actually any exam. By mental gameplan, I mean having a clear idea how we will allocate our time for different sections or steps required in the paper. We should also know and be familiar with the exact steps we will take to complete the paper. What will we begin with? Question analysis? Planning? What should we prioritise when we are thinking of points? How do we annotate the passage, how much to annotate, when to think of AQ? Having a clear idea allows us to remain composed even under stressful time conditions. GP being a very time-sensitive paper (especially for paper 2), means that we need to start getting used to the demands even earlier in the year. It starts with knowing exactly what we will be doing during the exam #General

My whole purpose of doing these lessons is just to find creative ways to make GP accessible. It was the very reason why I wrote all these tips in the first place, because I felt like students would like small tips here and there to guide them to the right path. At least I did when I was a student! These Turbo Lessons are designed to also deliver the most precious GP insights in an exciting way that would hopefully cater to diverse learning styles and preferences 🥰
