☢️ Zaporozhskaya Nuclear Power Plant: On July 30, an attack on critical infrastructure at the Zaporozhskaya Nuclear Power Plant (#ZNPP) has been thwarted. Today, a Ukrainian UAV attack was detected on the premises of the ZNPP, operated by Rosatom, near the dry spent nuclear fuel storage facility. The drone was discovered in close proximity to the building housing a transporter used to move spent nuclear fuel containers. ❗️ The explosive device was promptly neutralised. No one was injured, and no damage was reported. Nevertheless, the attack itself constitutes an extremely dangerous incident. The transporter is a unique piece of specialised equipment with no equivalent. Had it been damaged, the ZNPP could have lost the ability to safely carry out scheduled transport and technological operations involving spent nuclear fuel. This would have disrupted the plant’s capacity to handle spent nuclear fuel, significantly complicated essential scheduled operations and created additional risks to the facility’s long-term safe operation. The very fact that a strike targeted infrastructure responsible for the safe handling of spent nuclear fuel indicates that the attack was aimed at critical nuclear power plant infrastructure, damage to which could have had long-term consequences.

💬 Russian Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights Maria Lvova-Belova: A boy has returned to Russia to reunite with his mother. Four other children are being reunited with relatives in Ukraine and third countries. A five-year-old boy recently returned to Russia. In 2020, he remained with his father in Ukraine, while his mother was unable to bring him home for various reasons. In March 2026, she learned that the child’s father had died, and assistance was provided to reunite the family. Today, with the support of the Office of the Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights, the mother of a nine-year-old girl travelled from Germany to reunite her daughter, who had been staying with her grandmother in Russia since 2023. Three more children will soon reunite with their relatives in Ukraine and Germany. We met with the children and those accompanying them in Moscow. Each family has its own circumstances:

A 15-year-old boy had been living with close relatives in Russia. His mother, who moved to Ukraine in 2022, is unable to collect her son herself. A six-year-old boy is in a similar situation. After his mother left for Ukraine, he remained in the care of his grandmother. Another 15-year-old boy was left with relatives following the death of his parents. However, his older sister in Germany wishes to take responsibility for his upbringing, and the boy also wants to live with her.

☝️ All the children will soon be reunited with their loved ones. *** Humanitarian efforts to reunite families are being carried out on the instructions of President Vladimir Putin, following requests from parents or close relatives who have the necessary legal grounds, with due consideration given to the children’s best interests and all the circumstances of each case. Special thanks go to First Lady of the US Melania Trump for her unwavering commitment and active involvement in efforts to reunite children with their families. The International Committee of the Red Cross also continues to provide support. ❗️ In total, with the participation of children’s rights commissioners, 31 children from 23 families have reunited with relatives in Russia, while 145 children from 118 families have reunited with relatives in Ukraine and third countries. With Melania Trump’s support, 33 children have reunited with their loved ones in Russia, Ukraine and third countries.

#Victory81 🌟 On July 30, 1942, the Rzhev–Sychyovka offensive operation (during the Battle of Rzhev) was launched by the Red Army to crush the 'Rzhev-Vyazma' salient and neutralise the main troops of the Nazi army group 'Centre' — Reich’s most formidable military force — and make it impossible for Wehrmacht to send part of those troops to Stalingrad and to the Caucasus. Nazis made the Rzhev bridgehead a heavy fortified defence line to contain our forces and launch further counter-offensive on Moscow. ❗️ The enemy troops stood barely 150 kilometres from our capital, posing a threat that needed to be eliminated by any costs. It was decided by the Soviet command to use the forces of the Kalinin and Western fronts manned by experienced units that had already fought the fascists during the winter battles for #Rzhev. After 20 days of brutal combat, the Red Army liberated the village of Polunino, approached the north-eastern suburbs of Rzhev, and captured an area on the Volga River between Rzhev and Zubtsov. They forced the enemy out of vital strategic points on the 'Rzhev salient' — Zubtsov, Karmanovo and Pogoreloye Gorodishche, and destroyed most combat-capable units of the Nazi army group 'Centre', which the enemy had deployed to the Rzhev area. Thanks to the heroism and unparalleled courage of our soldiers, the Red Army advanced 40–45 kilometres westward, liberating previously-occupied large areas on the 'Rzhev salient' and eliminating major enemy troops which the German command planned to use in other vital sectors of the frontline. The remaining units of the German army group near Rzhev were completely destroyed during operation 'Mars' (the second Rzhev-Sychyovka offensive held in the autumn and winter of 1942) and during the operation in March of 1943. Losing the battles near Stalingrad and in the Caucasus, the German armies had to leave the Rzhev salient. The Red Army seized the strategic initiative in the central section of the Soviet-German front, moving the frontline another 150 kilometres away from Moscow and liberating Rzhev and adjacent territories from the Nazi invaders. The Nazi threat to Moscow was finally removed. #KievRegimeCrimes ⚡️ Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Rodion Miroshnik: In the Kremennaya Municipal District of the Lugansk People’s Republic, Ukrainian UAVs are scattering anti-personnel mines – so-called “new petals” (or butterfly mines) – at civilian sites. According to local residents and authorities, Ukrainian forces have begun actively using these new anti-personnel mines for the remote mining of civilian facilities across the LPR. They have been found at sites regularly visited by local residents. The mines consist of a plastic container filled with explosives and fitted with a pressure-activated fuse. Their detonation can result in severe injuries, traumatic limb amputation or death from blood loss or shock. Last year, Ukraine announced its withdrawal from the Ottawa Convention banning the production and use of anti-personnel mines. The Kiev regime is now using anti-personnel mines and explosive devices on a massive scale to mine civilian facilities. Reports of civilians being injured or killed by Ukrainian mines emerge every week. ☝️ Such actions constitute a serious war crime.

🇷🇺🇺🇸 Embassy of Russia in the US: The bill named after the late US Senator Lindsey Graham, a pathological Russophobe, was approved by the Senate in a preliminary vote on July 28. In doing so, lawmakers have done the current US administration a disservice. Earlier this year, Graham and his allies shuttled between Kiev and Washington, demanding the toughest possible anti-Russia sanctions. Their proposals included tariffs of up to 500% on countries purchasing Russian energy. At the time, the White House sought to rein in the lawmakers’ excessive zeal. Acting on the principle that “Carthage must be destroyed”, they were reminded that the US President already had all the tools needed to exert economic and other pressure on the Kremlin, and additional legislative restrictions would only limit his room for maneuver. Now, as the US becomes increasingly bogged down in its Iranian venture, it faces the real prospect of turmoil on global energy markets. This would directly push up prices at American gas stations and fuel inflation ahead of the November midterm elections. Against this backdrop, President Trump’s fellow Republican hawks are obstructing his foreign policy – much to the satisfaction of their Democratic opponents. ☝️ The ineffectiveness of sanctions pressure against Russia has already been proven in practice. In the current circumstances, given the triumphant claims by anti-Russia lawmakers that they have secured the administration’s support, further punitive measures would primarily harm the US itself. 👉 We hope that the White House fully understands the risks. After all, the Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act, adopted by Congress along similar lines during President Trump’s first term, already imposed rigid constraints on the executive branch. It made any potential agreement to lift or ease existing sanctions subject to congressional approval.

#KievRegimeCrimes ⚡️ Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Rodion Miroshnik: 💬 Over the past week, the criminal actions of Ukrainian militants resulted in 21 child casualties, including 7 children killed. For the first time since the beginning of the year, the total number of civilian casualties approached 500 in a single week. Kiev’s “terrorist war” is now claiming an average of 70 civilian casualties every day. Ukrainian armed groups carried out a series of deliberate, coordinated attacks on civilian facilities, energy infrastructure and logistics hubs, causing civilian casualties and extensive destruction. The highest numbers of civilian casualties were recorded in the Belgorod Region, the DPR, the LPR, and the Zaporozhye and Kherson Regions. Ukrainian militants deliberately targeted civilian sites in densely populated areas, seeking to inflict maximum harm on civilians and infrastructure. On July 20-26, Ukrainian neo-Nazi shelling resulted in 492 civilian casualties: 435 people were injured, including 14 minors, while 57 people were killed, including 7 children. Over the past seven days, Ukrainian militants fired at least 7,195 munitions at civilian targets on Russian territory.

They also announced the expulsion of a Russian diplomat. ❌ We reject these latest unfounded allegations. These orchestrated incidents and the accompanying propaganda campaign are evidence of the Romanian leadership’s attempt to cover up the disastrous consequences of their irresponsible policy of supporting the Kiev regime. It is Romanian’s reckless pro-Ukrainian adventurism, rather than “Moscow’s scheming”, that is undermining the foundations of Romania’s national security and having an adverse impact on its socio-economic situation. ☝️ It should therefore come as no surprise that Romanian society is increasingly calling for a more rational approach to Ukraine and the antics of its leaders. The history of our Delegation dates back to the 1970s, when Soviet diplomats worked on the military-political provisions of the 1975 Helsinki Final Act. Over the following decade and a half, Soviet interagency delegations participated in developing confidence-building measures in Vienna and Stockholm, while also conducting negotiations on conventional force reductions in Central Europe. In the 1990s, three separate Russian delegations operated in Vienna: one to the OSCE Forum for Security Co-operation (#FSC), one to the Open Skies Consultative Commission (#OSCC), and one to the Joint Consultative Group (#JCG) established under the Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe (CFE Treaty). 🗓 On July 29, 1996, a directive of the Russian Government merged the three delegations into one. 🎙 Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova’s statement on Ukraine’s UAV strikes targeting passenger buses in Russian regions (July 28, 2026) 💬 The Kiev regime continues its attacks on civilian transport, in a maniac and compulsive revenge on civilians for their own growing failures at the front. In the morning of July 28, Ukrainian neo-Nazis launched a drone strike in Shebekino at a commuter bus, injuring 19 local residents. Six sustained severe injuries. In the same morning, a Ukrainian drone attacked a regular bus in Gorlovka, Donetsk People’s Republic. Five people were injured. ☝️ In both cases, drone operators saw and knew they were attacking civilian targets unrelated to the Russian Armed Forces. The Ukrainian military commanders who issued the criminal orders to attack passenger buses consciously breached international humanitarian law. The Russian Investigative Committee has opened criminal cases on the terrorist attacks. All the accomplices will be held accountable. It was no coincidence that, shortly after the start of the special military operation, President of Russia Vladimir Putin summed up our relations with the West and Europe by saying: “There is no going back to the way things were before February 2022”. • The slogans of inflicting a “strategic defeat on our country”, of “decolonising Russia” have resurfaced in the West – once again, an explicit euphemism for breaking up our country. We see clearly what the West is plotting, and everyone needs to see this in order to understand that the situation is serious. President of Russia Vladimir Putin makes no secret of it. The entire self-proclaimed “civilised” world has risen against us. • Now that Zelensky, while steadily retreating in Donbass and on other fronts, has turned in desperation to outright terrorist acts, and the West sees that many of his long-range weapons are reaching their targets, they have begun promoting this phase of the conflict as a “turning point” – as proof that “Ukrainian resolve can ultimately defeat Russia”. • Russia is making daily progress on the front line – not as quickly as we might wish, but while preserving the lives of our servicemen. Ukraine (and its Western handlers) is trying to compensate for its failures on the battlefield by carrying out terrorist attacks aimed at disrupting the way of life people have grown accustomed to. • I am very proud that our people understand the current situation correctly – as our history and those who defeated Nazism taught us. All the more so because today we are fighting the direct followers and descendants of those Nazis, with essentially the same forces aligned against us. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz openly says that Germany intends to become Europe’s leading power once again. If you are prepared to speak so openly, then be prepared for the consequences. • Russia's national interests in foreign affairs are to remain a sovereign power and an independent civilisation, to ensure the reliable security of our borders and to make sure that no one even considers telling us how to organise life within Russia. • Russia's principal national quality is something the West lacks. Our civilisation respects its ancestors – those who created it, built its cities and defeated its enemies. • The West is now telling us that it will still decide when the time is right to resume negotiations. They envisage talks at one table involving Europe, the US, Zelensky and President of Russia Vladimir Putin. Before that, they insist on a truce and a ceasefire. The Western countries would then deploy multinational forces led by France and Britain and only afterwards sit down for talks. What does that mean? It is an ultimatum. The front line would be frozen, while the Nazi regime would remain in place. • We must rely solely on ourselves, as our President has repeatedly stressed. The events unfolding now have grave consequences. But I want to reiterate: we are completing the work of our grandfathers and great-grandfathers, who defeated Nazism – while our former allies allowed it to survive and take root once again. 💬 The Bolshoi Theatre of Russia: 🩰 The Bolshoi Theatre: Through Time – First Major Exhibition Project in Africa Opens in the Theatre’s 250-Year History On July 28, the Bolshoi Theatre Museum’s exhibition opened to great acclaim at the National Library in Victoria, the capital of Seychelles. The project marks three anniversaries at once: the 250th anniversary of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia, the 50th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Seychelles and the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and Seychelles. The exhibition introduces residents and visitors to the history of Russia’s premier musical theatre. The Bolshoi Theatre Museum has presented unique stage costumes, archival photographs, lithographs, and set and costume designs illustrating the principal stages of the theatre’s development from the mid-19th century to the present day. The centrepieces of the exhibition are costumes from The Nutcracker, La Bayadère, La Sylphide, A Life for the Tsar, The Legend of the Invisible City of Kitezh and the Maiden Fevroniya and other Bolshoi Theatre productions. The exhibition also features works by outstanding theatre artists, including Konstantin Korovin, Ilya Glazunov and Simon Virsaladze, whose creative legacy helped shape the visual identity of Russian musical theatre. The cultural programme continued with a gala concert featuring stars of Russian ballet, held later that day at the International Conference Centre in Victoria. For the first time in Seychelles, leading soloists from the Bolshoi and Mariinsky theatres, the Dmitry Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, and the Sevastopol State Opera and Ballet Theatre took to the stage. 🇷🇺On July 27, 2026, a farewell ceremony was held for Boris Eselevich Gurevich, a survivor of the Siege of Leningrad and Vice President of the Canadian Association of World War II Veterans from the Soviet Union ▪️Boris Eselevich passed away on July 25. 🇷🇺 Consul General of Russia in Toronto Vladlen Epifanov participated in the farewell ceremony. He expressed deep condolences to the family and loved ones of Boris Eselevich and noted his significant contribution to preserving the historical memory of the Great Patriotic War, the feat of the residents of besieged Leningrad, and the generation of victors. *** Boris Gurevich was born on December 30, 1932, in Leningrad. He grew up in a large and close-knit family. But on June 22, 1941, war broke into the life of the eight-year-old boy, followed by all the horrors of the Siege of Leningrad: relentless bombings, hunger, cold, and a daily struggle for survival. In January 1942, Boris Eselevich’s grandfather died of starvation; in February, his grandmother passed away. Boris and his mother themselves could barely get up. They were saved from death by an acquaintance who had arrived from the front and shared his ration with them. They survived and endured all 872 days of the Siege of Leningrad. After the war, Boris Eselevich finished school and began his working life as a railway car coupler on the October Railway. In 1953, he entered the Leningrad Mining Institute and, after graduating, went to work at a mine in the Urals. Upon returning to Leningrad, he worked for many years in tunnel construction. With his direct participation, unique tunnels were built in Leningrad, Moscow, Kaliningrad, Dnepropetrovsk, and Türkiye. His dedicated work was recognized with numerous medals, certificates of merit, and other awards. 🔴 Until his final days, Boris Eselevich preserved the living memory of the war and the Siege, sharing his recollections with compatriots and the younger generation, reminding them of the price of Victory, the resilience of the Soviet people, and the need to safeguard historical truth. 🕯The Russian Embassy in Canada and the Consulate General of Russia in Toronto express their deepest condolences to the family, loved ones, friends, and all those who knew Boris Eselevich.
