Rs 100 Crore Fake Currency Network Busted in Guwahati Counterfeit note supplier Ajay Vishwakarma, currently in police custody, has allegedly revealed details of a fake currency syndicate operating from Bangalmara in Assam's Lakhimpur district. He has named several individuals, including Ismail Ali, Sumi, Abdul Gafoor, Afsanur Rahman and Chinmay Kalita, as being allegedly linked to the racket.Police are investigating the claims, while Vishwakarma has urged the Chief Minister's Vigilance Cell to probe the alleged ₹100-crore fake currency network. .

The operation was conducted after receiving credible inputs regarding the movement of contraband through the railway network. During the search, the joint team intercepted and thoroughly examined the suspected consignment, leading to the recovery of the Codeine-based substances concealed for illegal transportation.
