Factional Gunfight Erupts in Manipur: ZUF (JK) and NSCN (IM) Clash in Tamenglong A fierce gunfight broke out between suspected cadres of the Zeliangrong United Front-Jenchui Kamson [ZUF (JK)] and the National Socialist Council of Nagalim-Isak Muivah [NSCN (IM)] at Kaiphundai village along the Imphal-Jiribam Highway (NH-37) in Tamenglong district on June 26. The exchange of fire erupted at approximately 5:30 AM when suspected NSCN (IM) cadres launched an assault on a ZUF (JK) hideout located in the village, causing panic and forcing many local residents to flee to safer areas.
