ASSAM RIFLES SEIZES CODEINE PHOSPHATE WORTH ₹7.25 LAKHS IN ASSAM In a well-coordinated joint operation, Assam Rifles and Cachar Police intercepted a major consignment of contraband near general area Gossaipur on NH at Udharbond Junction, Cachar, Assam, during the early hours of 02 July 2026. Acting on specific intelligence, the joint team intercepted an auto-rickshaw and recovered 2,500 bottles/pieces of Codeine Phosphate concealed in 21 boxes, valued at approximately ₹7.25 lakhs. Two individuals, Rebul Uddin (32) and Salim Uddin (55), both residents of Latigram, Cachar were apprehended. The seized contraband, vehicle and the accused have been handed over to Cachar Police for further investigation and legal proceedings.
