St. Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College (SPHMMC) and the St. Paul’s Institute of Reproductive Health (SPIRHR) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Institute of Ethiopian Standards (IES) to strengthen quality management, standardization, and accreditation of reproductive health services.

ወይንሸት የ28 ዓመት ወጣት እናት ናት፡፡( ስሟዋ የተቀየረ)፡፡አዲስ ዓመት ሊመጣ ጥቂት ቀናት ሲቀሩት ወደ ኢንዶስኮፒ የምርመራ ክፍላችን መጣች፡፡ በጊዜው የእርግዝናዋ ጊዜ ስድስት ወር ደርሶ ነበር፡፡ የመጀመሪያዋ እርግዝና በመሆኑ ሕጻኑን ከባሏ ጋር በናፍቆት እየጠበቁ እንደሆነ ስትናገር በደስታ ነው፡፡
ወይንሸት መስከረም ሲጠባ በአዲሱ ዐመት ልጇን መታቀፍ በሕይወትዋ ትልቁ ደስታዋ እንደሆነ ለሀኪሟ ስተስረዳ እየተፍነከነከች ነበር፡፡ ወደ አልትራ ሳውንድ ከሊኒክ የመጣችውም የልጇን ጾታ ለማወቅ ብቻ ነበር፡፡
ሰብ ስፔሻሊስት ሐኪሟ ግን በአልትራ ሳውንድ ምርመራ ወቅት ሌላ የጤና ችግር ተመለከተች፡፡ ይህ ምርመራ ወይንሸት ያልጠበቀችውን የምርመራ ውጤት አረዳት፡፡
ሐኪሟ በምርመራው ወቅት ፅንሱ የአእምሮ እድገት ከባድ ችግር እንዳለበት የሚያመለክቱ ምልክቶችን በአናቶሚ የፅንስ አፈጣጠር አልትራ ሳውንድ ምርመራ ወቅት ተመለከተች፡፡ ይህም በእንግሊዘኛ Anencephaly ይባላል፡፡ ይህም የፅንሱ የራስ ቅል ክፍሎች በተገቢው መንገድ ተሰናስለው ያልተፈጠሩበት ከባድ የወሊድ እክል ማለት ነው፡፡በመጨረሻ የወ/ሮ ወይንሸት ጽንስዋ ቢቋረጥም የምክር አገልግሎት ተሠጥቷት ወደ ቤቷ ተሰኝታለች፡፡
ይህ ህመም በተገቢው መንገድ አልትራሳውንድ ምርመራ ከተደረገ ከ11-14 ወራት ሊታወቅ ይችላል፡፡ በእርግዝና ወቅት ነፍሰ ጡር እናቶች መቼ መመርመር እንዳለባቸው ማወቅ አስፈላጊ ነው፤ ቀደም ብሎ ማወቅ ደግሞ በጊዜው ምክር እንዲሰጥ፣ በቂ መረጃ ላይ የተመሠረተ ውሳኔ እንዲወሰን እና ርህራሄ የተሞላበት እንክብካቤ እንዲደረግ ያስችላል።
ወሮ ወይንሸት የልጇን ጾታ ለማወቅ በታላቅ ጉጉት ወደሕክምና ተቋም ሄዳ ያላሰበችው ነገር ገጠማት፡፡ ይህም ደስታዋን ወደ ሐዘን ቀየረባት፡፡ ከአልትራሳውንድ ምስል ጀርባ የአንድ እናትና የልጇ ታሪክ ተሰንዶ እንደመጽሐፍ እንደሚነበብ ምንግዜም መረዳት አለብን፡፡
ነፍሰጡር እናቶች የሐኪም ክትትልና ምክርን ሁልጊዜ ተግባራዊ ማድረግ ያስፈልጋቸዋል፡፡

Admission requirements
1. The applicant should only be who took Ethiopian Secondary School Leaving Certificate Examination (ESSLCE) in 2026 GC (2018 EC) for first time
2. Ethiopian Secondary School Leaving Certificate Examination (ESSLCE) result should be:
Medicine Program
A. For Afar region, Benshangul-Gumz region, Borena zone (Oromia), Gambella region, Somali region, South Omo zone (South Ethiopia), West Omo zone (South west Ethiopia), Wagimera zone (Amhara):
· For Male 450 and above
· For Female 425 and Above
B. For All other regions:
· For Male 475 and above
· For Female 450 and Above
Nursing (Comprehensive Nursing) Program
C. For Afar region, Benshangul-Gumz region, Borena zone (Oromia), Gambella region, Somali region, South Omo zone (South Ethiopia), West Omo zone (South west Ethiopia), Wagimera zone (Amhara):
· For Male 400 and above
· For Female 375 and Above
D. For All other regions:
· For Male 425 and above
· For Female 400 and Above
3. The transcript average mark from 9th -12th grade should be 80% and above for Medicine program and 70% and above for Nursing program.
4. High school transcript from 9th -12th grade should be uploaded.
5. ESSLCE print out that shows clear admission number should be uploaded.
6. Application fee of 1000 birr should be paid and receipt uploaded
7. The application will be complete if all necessary information is filled and uploaded and submitted. Incomplete applications will be rejected automatically
8. Any misleading and incorrect information in the application will lead to automatic rejection

● Written examination accounts 55% and then content will cover situational judgment tests, visual, spatial, numeric & verbal reasoning questions and the place for exam is Addis Ababa University (Specific campus will be communicated)

● The maximum intake capacity of the college is 95 students medicine and 30 for Nursing program

A major milestone for the SPHMMC Cardiology Division — 14 complex coronary interventions successfully performed, including bifurcation, trifurcation, and CTO (Chronic Total Occlusion) procedures.
We are grateful to Professor Tayo A. Addo, Interventional Cardiologist and Program Director of Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at UT Southwestern Medical Center, for his expert mentorship and hands-on support.
Professor Tayo also generously supported our Cath Lab with 40 stents, 40 balloons, guidewires, and guiding catheters, strengthening our capacity to provide advanced cardiac care.

St. Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College, Department of Internal Medicine, invites applications from qualified specialists in Internal Medicine, Clinical Oncology, or Hematology.
Key requirements:
· Valid specialty certificate and FMOH registration/license
· Recent NGAT pass mark certificate
· 750-word letter of intent

· Successful completion of the written entrance examination and interview
· Preference for applicants working in areas with inadequate adult hemato-oncology services
