A poem/prayer read at the 2026 HOD blot to Thor by Cearl of Mercia: Hail and greetings to Wodan's kin! You Heavenly Gods who are mighty and wise, It is right to give you our blot and prayer, Since you taught the Holy Ways to Father Mannus, Whence came Ing, Irmin and Istio's folk, From whom came rulers of land and sea. Impart to us here, we children of Mannus, Blessings of victory and thriving fields, And give shelter to us, who tend hallowed fire, And bring gifts for your aid, to us and our heirs. Hail to you, son of Woden and Earth! Wielder of Heaven-fire, Middle-Yard's ward, Loud-riding Punor of the oaken grove, You whose hammer is the devourers' bane, Whose breath is the wind, whose path is the storm, World-worm's Slayer, Sky-lord, come forth. You who splits the dark cloud for sunlight and rain, Oh, Steadfast Striker, Husband of Sif, May you bless our rite and receive our gifts, For healthy offspring and flourishing fields, And grant strength to us in defence of truth, Our forebears' ways in times of need. We Hail the father of strength, wrath, and might, As your chariot rumbles, may the ettins quake, From your lofty fortress, may you reign forever!
