The United States has approved a potential $800 million sale of Bell helicopters, weapons and related equipment to Iraq, according to the State Department. The proposed Foreign Military Sale includes GAU-19 three-barrel machine gun launchers, M260 seven-tube launchers for 2.75-inch rockets, electro-optical/infrared sensors and missile launch detection systems. The State Department did not specify how many helicopters Iraq is seeking to purchase. The package also includes Very High Frequency radios, spare parts, ground support equipment, technical publications and data, and new-equipment training for Iraqi pilots and maintenance personnel. U.S. government and contractor personnel would provide engineering, technical and logistics support. @KurdishFrontNews

Rojava University Faculty Member Dr. Ferda Fahrioğlu Akın: “The Rojava side has never in any way given up on education in the mother tongue, and it was stated that this is a red line.” “During the conflicts of that period, universities were closed for two months, and students went to defend their own cities and homes. After the agreement, they returned to the university.” “Even though the published decree makes it seem as if Kurdish education will now completely end and be reduced to three hours a week, there is no such situation.” “Negotiations regarding education are still ongoing.” @KurdishFrontReports

Unverified Document Allegedly Lists Israeli Demands in Syria Talks An unverified document circulating online reportedly outlines 11 alleged Israeli demands presented to representatives of the Syrian government. The document has not been independently authenticated by major international media outlets. The alleged demands include: 1. Opening an Israeli embassy in Damascus and a consulate in Aleppo. 2. Establishing a “David’s Path” corridor linking northern Israel with northeastern Syria. 3. Creating a 40–50 km-deep security zone inside Syrian territory. 4. Limiting the Syrian Army to a maximum of 30,000 personnel. 5. Granting Suwayda self-governance. 6. Allowing Israeli forces to conduct operations inside Syrian territory when deemed necessary. 7. Granting Syrian citizenship to Palestinians and removing references to “Palestinian” identity from educational and official curricula. 8. Appointing Shimon Topashur, reportedly head of Damascus’s Jewish community, to the People’s Council and increasing Jewish parliamentary representation to five seats. 9. Transferring five military bases in northern Aleppo, Latakia and northern Syria for use as Israeli radar and operational centers. 10. Prohibiting Syria from developing an air force and air-defense capabilities. 11. Restricting Syrian military aviation to helicopters used for agricultural spraying. The allegations come amid ongoing U.S.-mediated Syria–Israel negotiations, in which security arrangements and Israel’s military presence in southern Syria are confirmed areas of discussion. Erdoğan Warns Greece Over Aegean Militarization Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has warned Greece against continuing the militarization of Aegean islands with demilitarized status, saying those who interpret Turkey’s restraint as weakness are making a “grave mistake.” Erdoğan urged Athens to abandon what he described as a “wrong path” and stressed that Turkey would continue to closely monitor developments in the region. His remarks came shortly after Greece and Israel signed a €3 billion air-defense agreement, although Erdoğan did not directly mention the deal or Israel. Spokesperson for the Iraqi Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Sabah Al-Numan gave Channel 8 new updates on peace process: * Iraqi border guards and Peshmerga forces would secure areas vacated by the PKK along the Iraq–Turkey border. * Five locations will be designated for PKK members to hand over their weapons. * Turkey’s intelligence service, MİT, will conduct field inspections to verify that 72 positions and shelters have been fully evacuated. * An estimated 7,000–8,000 PKK members are expected to return to Turkey from Iraq and Syria. * The arrangement reportedly excludes around 230 senior PKK figures and members accused of murder. * According to Turkish media, around 3,800 people in 18 camps are expected to hand over their weapons in groups by October 1. * MİT will inventory the surrendered weapons and submit a report to Turkey’s National Security Council, whose decision will determine implementation of the framework. @KurdishFrontNews

Mustafa Karasu, one of the PKK’s senior leaders, has made some interesting comments on whether the group will vacate its headquarters in the Qandil Mountains as part of the peace process. He said that withdrawing could create a major security vacuum. While Karasu warned that groups such as ISIS could establish themselves there, his more interesting point was that a withdrawal could trigger internal conflict between the KDP and PUK. He said this therefore requires a detailed political and security plan for what happens to those territories afterwards. @KurdishFrontNews

"I didn't give up on independence." Abdullah Öcalan notes from Imrali Prison (2025): "The strategy here should be this: Turkey is very hesitant about federation. I don't say autonomy on purpose, I say local democracy. But this is autonomy everywhere in the world. The London example is like this, it is important. Apart from the elected mayor, there is no governor. Local police, local structures are affiliated with the municipality. We will draw such a democratic framework in Turkey." "They say 'Apo gave up on independence gave up on federation, autonomy etc.' Actually we brought it to the most applicable point." @KurdishFrontNews

PKK opposed U.S. proposals to develop Rojava into another KRG. Helin Ümit, a member of the PKK Central Committee, stated during a December 2022 interview with the pro-PKK television channel Medya Haber TV that the United States had planned to establish an autonomous, state-like administration in Rojava, modeled on the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and aligned with its leadership. She further claimed that the PKK actively opposed and ultimately thwarted the alleged American initiative, arguing that such an arrangement conflicted with the PKK’s political ideology and broader strategic objectives for the region. @KurdishFrontNews
