Operation New Dawn reunited 24 children with their families, arrested 305 fugitives, and resulted in charges against 179 defendants across 140 federal cases during a 60-day law enforcement operation in the Chicago and Rockford areas. Eleven federal agencies coordinated the effort to target violent offenders accused of crimes including kidnapping, armed robbery, child exploitation, drug trafficking, firearms offenses, and immigration violations. Those arrested included convicted murderers, gang leaders, drug traffickers, repeat armed robbers, and individuals involved in illegal firearm sales and violent assaults. Officials credited the joint operation with disrupting violent criminal networks, dismantling drug trafficking organizations, and protecting vulnerable children. The operation occurred as Chicago reported significant declines in murders, robberies, burglaries, and overall crime, while FBI data showed a nationwide decrease in violent crime and a record 20% drop in the U.S. murder rate in 2025. Immigration and Customs Enforcement also reported arresting more than 10,000 gang members during President Trump's second term, including multiple MS-13 members wanted for murder and other violent crimes. https://archive.ph/RLAEe

Microsoft is laying off 4,800 employees—about 2.1% of its global workforce—as part of a restructuring at the start of its 2027 fiscal year. The Xbox division is absorbing the largest share of the cuts, eliminating about 1,600 positions immediately and planning up to 1,600 more during the fiscal year. Company leadership says Xbox has become overstaffed, with declining player numbers, reduced playtime, shrinking gaming revenue, falling console sales, excessive management layers, and a profit margin of just 3%. Microsoft also plans to sell or spin off several Xbox studios while streamlining operations. The company says the layoffs are part of adapting to rapid technological change and changing business needs, emphasizing that artificial intelligence is reshaping how work is performed rather than directly replacing the eliminated positions. https://archive.ph/LOlEq

Title VII prohibits employment discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, and national origin. Arizona State University has shifted its public messaging from promoting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) to emphasizing "inclusive communities" and "inclusive excellence," while continuing to reference DEI on many of its webpages. The Department of Justice is investigating whether the university is simply rebranding DEI rather than ending it. The video contends that ASU's definition of inclusion continues to focus on characteristics such as race and gender and questions whether these practices remain inconsistent with Title VII. https://drowenanderson.substack.com/p/what-is-asus-inclusive-excellence

A fugitive wanted in Georgia on child sexual exploitation charges was arrested in Glendale after the U.S. Marshals Service tracked him to Arizona. Joshua Jacobs is accused of exchanging child sexual abuse material with a 12-year-old and coercing the child to send sexually explicit images. A DeKalb County arrest warrant was issued in June, and investigators recovered additional evidence related to the case during his arrest. Jacobs is being held in Maricopa County pending extradition to Georgia. Authorities said the arrest resulted from cooperation between federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies and reaffirmed their commitment to pursuing offenders who exploit children. https://ktar.com/arizona-news/fugitive-georgia-child-exploitation/5886346/

Arizona State University has launched a 16-month, U.S. Department of Energy-funded project to study how extreme heat, urban growth, dust, wildfires, agriculture, and other environmental factors influence Arizona's monsoon storms. Researchers will collect approximately 50 types of measurements using weather balloons, radar, drones, satellites, and ground-based sensors to improve forecasting of heavy rain, flash flooding, dust storms, lightning, strong winds, virga, and air quality. The project focuses on the Salt River Valley and aims to improve severe weather warning times while providing data to help scientists, the National Weather Service, energy providers, developers, farmers, and communities better prepare for weather hazards, water shortages, and future growth. Researchers say it is the most comprehensive atmospheric study ever conducted in the Phoenix area and will improve understanding of the region's complex monsoon system, which receives moisture from both the Gulf of Mexico and the Pacific Ocean. https://ktar.com/arizona-weather-news/2026-monsoon-weather-balloon/5886363/

A federal appeals court upheld New York's law eliminating religious exemptions from school vaccination requirements, ruling the law is neutral, generally applicable, and serves the state's interest in protecting public health. The case was brought by Amish parents and school representatives who argue the law violates the Free Exercise Clause of the First and Fourteenth Amendments and face more than $118,000 in fines for refusing to comply. The Supreme Court previously sent the case back to the appeals court for reconsideration in light of its decision recognizing parents' religious rights to opt children out of LGBTQ curriculum, but the appeals court again ruled against the plaintiffs. Legal experts expect the case could return to the Supreme Court, where a ruling in favor of the plaintiffs could establish a nationwide constitutional right to religious exemptions from school vaccine mandates. Supporters of the challenge argue New York unlawfully allows medical exemptions while prohibiting religious exemptions, violating equal protection and religious liberty. New York is one of four states that do not allow religious vaccine exemptions, while similar legal and legislative battles are underway in several other states. Public support for religious exemptions has increased in recent years, and supporters contend that protecting informed consent, informed refusal, and religious freedom is central to the case. https://childrenshealthdefense.org/defender/amish-families-religious-vaccine-exemption-case-2nd-circuit-ruling

Autism diagnoses continue to rise, creating a growing housing and caregiving crisis for adults with profound autism as their parents age and worry about who will care for them after they are gone. The Interagency Autism Coordinating Committee has made housing a top priority and recommended adopting the term "profound autism" for individuals age 8 and older who have little or no speech, require continuous or near-continuous supervision, and need substantial assistance with daily living. Approximately 27% of children diagnosed with autism meet this definition. Surveys show that only 12% of caregivers have a concrete long-term care plan, while many have no plan or are still trying to develop one. The increasing number of adults with profound autism has outpaced available housing, with group home waitlists often stretching 15 years or more. Existing group homes frequently lack the specialized facilities, therapeutic environments, and safety features needed for individuals with profound autism, and many states provide limited support services. Parents describe the uncertainty over their children's future care as one of their greatest fears, while advocates warn the growing adult autism population will place increasing demands on housing, caregiving, and public support systems. https://childrenshealthdefense.org/defender/what-happens-to-my-child-when-i-die-crisis-facing-parents-adults-autism

A White House Domestic Policy Council report concludes that the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History has adopted an ideological framework that replaces a unifying account of American history with one centered on activism and social justice. The report states the museum has no major exhibit dedicated to the nation's Founding, the Founding Fathers, the Declaration of Independence, the Revolutionary War, or the establishment of constitutional government, even during the 250th anniversary of the nation's founding. It says museum leadership has intentionally sought to move away from a traditional celebration of American history, reframing the nation's story around themes of white supremacy, slavery, racism, oppression, exclusion, misogyny, xenophobia, and systemic injustice. The report states the museum removed "American history" from its mission statement, shifted its focus toward creating "a more just and compassionate future," and requires exhibits to be interpreted through issues such as race, gender, climate change, immigration, economic inequality, technology, and nationalism. It concludes that the museum has abandoned historical scholarship in favor of political activism and has failed to fulfill its responsibility to present an honest, inspiring, and unifying account of America's history. https://www.dailysignal.com/2026/07/05/museum-american-history-erases

The House Committee on Education and the Workforce advanced the Truman Scholarship Clean House Act, sponsored by Rep. Elise Stefanik, to reform the federally funded Truman Scholarship program. The legislation would replace the current board of directors and executive secretary, allow President Trump to appoint new board members subject to Senate confirmation, require a supermajority board vote to approve interviewers, revise the scholarship's selection criteria, promote greater ideological diversity among recipients, and ensure only law-abiding students are eligible. Committee leaders said the scholarship has become a taxpayer-funded pipeline for liberal activists rather than a program that develops leaders from across the political spectrum. Data presented to Congress showed that only 29 of 653 scholarship recipients from 2015 through 2025 identified as conservative. Analyses also found that the majority of recipients over the past 12 years have leaned left, many worked for Democratic elected officials or progressive organizations, and approximately 75% of the program's regional reviewers are Democrats compared with 13% Republicans, with recipients in Republican-leaning states also predominantly coming from progressive backgrounds. https://www.dailysignal.com/2026/07/06/truman-scholarship-a-democrat-talent-pipeline-on-path-to-reform

The Supreme Court upheld state bans on biological males competing in girls' sports. Media coverage used terms such as "biological male" and "biological female" cautiously, described the issue as more complex than recognizing biological sex, and emphasized that transgender athletes represent a small percentage of competitors. Coverage focused on the experiences of transgender athletes while giving less attention to girls who lose competitions, suffer injuries, or raise concerns about privacy and fairness. Terms such as "assigned male at birth," "so-called girls' sports," and "culture war" were used in place of recognizing biological distinctions. A New York Times poll found that 79% of Americans oppose allowing biological males to compete in girls' sports. The position presented is that biological sex is an objective reality, girls' sports should remain reserved for biological females, and media coverage conflicts with both public opinion and biological facts. https://www.dailysignal.com/2026/07/06/media-girls-sports

Hardcore pornography has become widely accessible through the internet, with supporters of stricter enforcement arguing it contributes to addiction, damaged relationships, sexual dysfunction, increased aggression, & exposure of minors to explicit content. Federal & state obscenity laws criminalizing obscene material remain in effect, but enforcement has largely ceased. The Bush administration's Obscenity Prosecution Task Force, created in 2005, secured convictions against several producers of obscene content before being hindered by limited resources, inconsistent prosecution, legal challenges, & resistance within the justice system. The task force was disbanded in 2011, after which obscenity enforcement largely shifted to child pornography cases. The proposal calls for reviving federal & state obscenity enforcement efforts by targeting major distributors & online platforms, coordinating across agencies, dedicating sufficient resources, & enforcing existing laws against material that violates community standards. https://www.dailysignal.com/2026/07/06/pornography-obscenity-laws

Prince Harry was informed he could no longer stay at Buckingham Palace ahead of his UK visit for the Invictus Games after Palace officials said he accepted the invitation too late. Reports indicate the decision was made in consultation with King Charles after Harry initially declined the offer before reversing course. The visit has been further complicated by the decision for Meghan Markle, Prince Archie, & Princess Lilibet not to accompany him following the denial of taxpayer-funded police protection. Commentators have accused Harry of using his children as leverage to pressure King Charles to attend the Invictus Games & support his security demands. The Palace's decision ends the possibility of King Charles seeing his two youngest grandchildren during the visit, marking four years since their last meeting. https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2026/07/buckingham-palace-tells-harry-he-cant-stay-there

Tyler Robinson appeared in a Utah court for the first day of a preliminary hearing in the murder case involving TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk. The hearing, scheduled for July 6–10, will determine whether prosecutors have sufficient evidence to move the case to trial. Robinson has not yet entered a plea. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty & allege Robinson fatally shot Kirk at a Sept. 10, 2025, event at Utah Valley Univ. using a Mauser 98 .30-06 rifle. He faces charges including aggravated murder, reckless discharge of a firearm, two counts of obstruction of justice, two counts of witness tampering, & committing a violent offense in the presence of a child. Donald Trump Jr. & Kirk's widow, Erika Kirk, attended the hearing, while Kirk's family released a statement requesting privacy as the judicial process continues. https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2026/07/watch-live-tyler-robinson-preliminary-hearing-charlie-kirk

The Trump administration has begun depositing the first $1,000 into more than 500,000 "Trump Accounts" for eligible newborn Americans, with millions more expected to receive the one-time contribution. Launched nationwide on July 4, the tax-advantaged investment accounts provide a $1,000 Treasury-funded deposit for U.S. children born between 2025 & 2028. Family, friends, & employers can contribute up to $5,000 annually, with funds invested for long-term growth in broad U.S. stock market index funds. The money becomes available at age 18 for education, a first home, starting a business, or continued investing. More than 6 million accounts have reportedly been opened, most for families earning under $200,000, & private donors, including Michael & Susan Dell, have pledged billions in additional contributions. https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2026/07/trump-delivers-promise-build-generational-wealth-first-1000

A federal lawsuit filed by the Pima County GOP challenges portions of Arizona Sec. of State Adrian Fontes' Election Procedures Manual, arguing it could discourage law enforcement officers, military members, firefighters, EMTs, security guards, & others in uniform from voting in person. The lawsuit contends language prohibiting conduct that includes "wearing clothing, uniforms or official-looking apparel intended to deter, intimidate, or harass voters" is too vague & gives election workers excessive discretion. Plaintiffs cite an incident in which a Tucson police officer reported difficulty voting while in uniform during the 2024 election. The lawsuit also challenges expanded restrictions on electioneering beyond Arizona's 75-foot limit, arguing the manual's prohibition on electioneering audible inside a polling place lacks an objective standard & grants election officials too much discretion. State election officials maintain the manual does not prohibit uniformed officers from voting & is intended to prevent voter intimidation. https://www.dailysignal.com/2026/07/05/lawsuit-says-rule-police-polls

California Gov. Gavin Newsom announced support for legislation that would make it a felony to seize ballots before election results are certified by state or county officials. Newsom said anyone who interferes with California's elections, tampers with ballots, or unlawfully meddles in the election process would be prosecuted, regardless of who ordered the action. The proposal expands California's existing election laws by creating felony penalties for unauthorized ballot seizures before certification. The announcement follows a dispute over Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco's seizure of more than 650,000 ballots during an investigation into alleged election irregularities, an action challenged in court by California Attorney General Rob Bonta. https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2026/07/tyrant-gavin-newsom-panics-threatens-prosecute-anyone-helping

Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ) drew criticism after posting photos of himself wearing a Mexico soccer jersey at a World Cup watch party in Tucson during Independence Day weekend, writing that Tucson "sure knows how to do the World Cup." Critics questioned why a U.S. senator would publicly support another country's team while the U.S. remained in the tournament. The criticism came as Mexico was eliminated by England 3-2 & amid renewed attention to the conduct of some Mexican fans, including reports of fireworks set off outside England's hotel before the match & the repeated use of a homophobic chant that has resulted in multiple FIFA sanctions against the Mexican Football Federation. https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2026/07/az-senator-mark-kelly-faces-backlash-after-posting

Pres. Donald Trump & Italian PM Giorgia Meloni are reportedly engaged in a public dispute following disagreements over U.S. policy toward Iran & Lebanon. Reports claim Trump was frustrated after Italy declined to support U.S. military strikes on Iran or allow Italian bases to be used, & after Meloni sided with Pope Leo XIV on issues involving war & migration. Ahead of the NATO summit in Ankara, Trump shared a meme on Truth Social showing Meloni looking at him with the caption "restraining order needed," escalating the feud. Italian officials downplayed the post, with FM Antonio Tajani, Def. Min. Guido Crosetto, & Interior Min. Matteo Salvini stressing the importance of maintaining strong U.S.-Italy relations despite the public exchange. https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2026/07/roasted-trump-floats-restraining-order-against-italys-meloni

Maine Dem. U.S. Senate nominee Graham Platner faces new sexual assault allegations from ex-girlfriend Jenny Racicot, who told Politico he forced her to have sex in 2021 after entering her home uninvited while intoxicated. Platner denies the allegations, calling them "false" & saying any claim of non-consensual behavior is untrue. Following the report, Sen. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) & Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) withdrew their endorsements, & the Maine Dem. Party called on Platner to withdraw from the race. Platner canceled multiple town halls but has not announced he is dropping out, saying he is "reflecting on the best path forward." The latest allegations follow earlier reports involving claims of domestic abuse, physical intimidation, adultery, sexual misconduct, hateful online posts, & controversy over a Nazi tattoo. Under Maine law, Platner has until July 13 to withdraw, after which the state Dem. Party would have until July 27 to select a replacement nominee. https://www.dailysignal.com/2026/07/06/ex-girlfriend-accuses-graham-platner-of-sexual-assault https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2026/07/breaking-another-graham-platner-sex-scandal-erupts https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2026/07/here-we-go-maine-democrat-party-other-high https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2026/07/platner-abruptly-cancels

Peoria Police served a court-authorized search warrant at the Peoria Unified School District offices as part of an ongoing criminal investigation involving former Centennial High School teachers Angela Burlaka and Haley Beck. The investigation centers on allegations that the two teachers had inappropriate relationships with a student. While no criminal charges have been filed, the case has prompted scrutiny over whether district administrators properly reported concerns to law enforcement. Police emphasized that executing the search warrant should not be interpreted as evidence of wrongdoing by the district or any individual. Officers were seen at the district office Monday morning as investigators sought additional records. This marks the second search warrant served on the district this year in connection with the Centennial High investigation. https://www.12news.com/article/news/local/arizona/police-serve-search-warrant-peoria-school-district-criminal-investigation/75-9251cb28-eb72-4794-be26-8b5dcbc2adfd
