At least three ships have been struck in or around the strait over the past two days. Iran has sought greater control over the Strait of Hormuz since U.S. strikes began in late February, while the United States has attacked Iranian military targets and redirected 104 ships under its blockade. The University of Arizona provided some records requested by tenured professor Dr. Matthew Abraham concerning hiring and appointment practices but withheld or redacted others based on confidentiality, privacy, and other concerns. The University allowed Abraham to listen to a requested 2019 Committee of Eleven audio recording but later destroyed it under its retention policy; because the recording had already been requested, the University had a duty to preserve it, and its destruction constituted a wrongful denial of access. Courts may conduct confidential in-camera reviews when necessary to determine whether particular records can legally be withheld or redacted. A requester may recover attorney fees after “substantially prevailing,” with courts required to consider the requester’s overall success, including records produced before litigation, preventing an agency from avoiding potential attorney fees simply by producing records shortly before a lawsuit begins. The Supreme Court reversed the superior court’s judgment, vacated part of the Court of Appeals’ decision, and returned the case to the trial court for independent review of the University’s withholding and redactions and a determination of whether Abraham substantially prevailed and should receive attorney fees.

The 2009 order directed states and local governments to assist with restoring the Chesapeake Bay without specifying how they should accomplish that goal, and local governments subsequently relied on it when imposing stormwater fees, sometimes called “rain taxes,” that can cost households and small businesses hundreds of dollars annually. Genderism maintains that this identity can conflict with biological sex, cause psychological distress, and justify changing the body to conform to that identity. Genderism should be recognized as a religion or belief system, while gender dysphoria and the psychological distress associated with believing oneself to be a sex different from one’s biological sex should be recognized and treated as a mental illness rather than affirmed through medical transition. Genderists should be free to hold their beliefs but should not be permitted to impose them on others, codify those beliefs into law, or have public schools teach them as established scientific fact. Like Creationism, Genderism should be excluded from public-school instruction that treats contested beliefs as scientific truth, and its promotion by government schools should face constitutional scrutiny.
