AAU Exams brings past midterms, finals, quizzes, and other academic materials into one searchable, organized platform. Students can find papers by course, department, instructor, or year, save them into personal study folders, build exam collections, and share complete revision packs with classmates through a single link. 🔗 https://aauexams.eyu.et Important: AAU Exams is currently restricted to AAU students. You need a university email ending in @aau.edu.et to sign in and access the platform. This is an MVP and it was built and shipped pretty quickly, so there’s definitely still a lot to improve. Okay, I’m not trying to lecture anyone but I genuinely started thinking about this after seeing SO many posts saying “me in the 80s” and using AI-generated pictures. It got me wondering how many people actually know what goes on behind these images. AI might feel completely digital and harmless because we’re just typing something into an app and getting a picture back. But behind that picture are huge data centers full of powerful computers that generate a LOT of heat. Those computers need to be cooled, and some data centers use water as part of that cooling process. And yes in some cases, that can involve water from municipal/potable supplies. That doesn’t mean every AI picture uses a specific amount of drinking water, and the environmental impact varies a lot depending on the data center, cooling system, location, energy source, and the amount of computing involved. Some data centers also use reclaimed or non-potable water. But I think it’s still something worth knowing. Because AI isn’t just happening “in the cloud.” 😭 It relies on physical infrastructure, electricity, cooling systems, and sometimes significant amounts of water. So I’m not saying “never use AI.” I’m just saying we should know what’s behind the things we’re using, especially when we start generating hundreds of images just for fun.

Maybe not every good thing needs to be announced. Sometimes you get an opportunity, get excited, and naturally want to tell the people you’re close to. But after seeing the same things fall apart so many times, you start realizing that some blessings are better protected in silence until they’re actually yours.

I almost lost everything this year. Not “stressed about deadlines” losing everything. My dad. My family. Everything I’ve been building. There were nights I genuinely didn’t know if RAVN would survive the month. But my cofounder and I kept building anyway. Through the doubt, uncertainty, and nights when nothing seemed to work. Today, I’m incredibly grateful to share that RAVN has been accepted into Antler. $400K in funding, backed by one of the world’s leading venture builders, alongside companies like Lovable, Airalo, Reebelo, and Tactiq. To everyone who watched us build this from the beginning, thank you. This wasn’t luck or a guarantee. We kept building long before there was anything to celebrate. Most importantly, I’m grateful to God. He never left us. We’ve come a long way. We’re just getting started.

Before, whenever people asked me if I’d ever want to leave the country, I’d always be like, “Never. If you’re financially stable and doing okay, why would you go live in another country?” And now… my God 😭 I’m actually thinking about how I could leave and take my whole family with me. The crazy thing is, I still hate the idea of living somewhere where I might not be respected. There are so many reasons for that too — being Black, being a girl, being Muslim, etc. But then I started thinking… are we even being respected here? Because honestly, I don’t know if there’s that much of a difference anymore. I used to think staying was the obvious choice as long as you could build a stable life here. Now I’m realizing that maybe stability isn’t the only thing that matters. I don’t know 😭 Mn eyasebku endehone and I’m still trying to understand it. Whatever, I don’t even think I’m explaining my point properly, but yeah
