Lots is happening and the Workers Party is in the thick of it. We're campaigning hard in Burnage and Edinburgh in key local by-elections, and now we are taking nominations for a potential parliamentary by-election in Keir Starmer's seat in London. On top of that more than 500 people have joined the No Conscription League these last two days and we have important announcements coming on that front too.
That sort of campaigning costs serious money and everyone knows we are a Workers party. If you can donate, or know someone who could, please do. Our ability to fight we be decided by the funds we can raise.

Our Cllr Shehryar Kayani has launched a petition calling on Birmingham City Council to stop and rethink the blanket 20mph plan. Not against road safety, against a lazy one-size-fits-all approach that ignores everything else that's actually wrong with our roads.
The petition calls for:
- Real investment in fixing potholes and crumbling road surfaces, not just new speed signs
- 20mph limits reviewed road by road, evidence-led, not blanket
- The council to publish transparent data proving these limits actually cut collisions and casualties
- Proper consultation with residents, businesses, motorists, cyclists and emergency services before anything further is imposed
- A road safety strategy that fixes infrastructure, not one that just slaps a number on a sign and calls it done
This isn't a small ask. It's basic accountability. If the council wants to change how every street in this city works, they should have to show their evidence and fix what's broken first.
Doesn't matter if you're in Birmingham, elsewhere in Britain, or watching this from anywhere in the world, if you believe councils should be transparent and evidence-led before imposing sweeping change, add your name.
