በጎንደር ዩኒቨርሲቲ ህክምናና ጤና ሳይንስ ኮሌጅና አጠቃላይ ስፔሻላይዝድ ሆስፒታል የዓለም የአእምሮ ጤና ቀንን “Lived Experiences Heard: Real Voices, Real Change” በሚል መሪ ቃል መስከረም 30/ 2019 ዓ.ም. በፕ/ር ያሬድ ወንድምኩን የመሰብሰቢያ አዳራሽ በድምቀት ተከብሮ ውሏል።
በዕለቱ የአእምሮ ጤና ችግር ያጋጠማቸውን ሰዎች መርሃግብሩን የስነ -አዕምሮ ክፍል ባልደረባና የስነ-አዕምሮ ተማሪዎች ማህበር መሥራች መምህር ጎሹ ኔንቆ የእንኳን ደህና መጣችሁመጣችሁካደረጉ በኋላ የህክምናና ጤና ሳይንስ ኮሌጅና አጠቃላይ ስፔሻላይዝድ ሆስፒታል በምክትል ፕሬዚዳንት ማዕረግ ዋና ሥራ አስፈጻሚ ዶ/ር ጌታው ብርሃን በመክፈቻ ንግግራቸው እንደገለጹት የ አእምሮ ጤና ከአካላዊ ጤና ተለይቶ የሚታይ ጉዳይ ሳይሆን፣ ከሰው ልጅ አጠቃላይ ደህንነት፣ ከማኅበራዊ ግንኙነት፣ ከሥራ አፈጻጸምና ከእለት ተእለት የኑሮ እንቅስቃሴ ጋር በቀጥታ የተያያዘ መሆኑን ገልጸዋል።
ስለሆነም ለአእምሮ ጤና ተገቢውን ትኩረት መስጠት፣ ችግሮች ሲከሰቱ በቶሎ እንዲታወቁና ተገቢውን የሕክምናና የሥነ ልቦና ድጋፍ እንዲያገኙ ማድረግ አስፈላጊ ነው ብለዋል።
የስነ-አዕምሮ ትምህርት ክፍል ባልደረባ የሆኑት ዶ/ር ሙሉ ጌትነትና ዶ/ር ታደለ አማረ ''በአዕምሮ ጤና ማብራሪያና ''በአዕምሮ ሕክምና ታሪካዊ ዳራ ዙሪያ ጽሑፍ ያቀረቡ ሲሆን በአእምሮ ጤና ችግሮች ላይ ያሉ የተሳሳቱ አመለካከቶችን፣ መገለልንና መድሎን ለመቀነስ ማኅበረሰቡ በቂ ግንዛቤ ሊኖረው እንደሚገባ አስገንዝበዋል።
አእምሮ ጤና ችግር ያጋጠመውን ሰው ከመውቀስ ወይም ከማግለል ይልቅ፣ በመረዳት፣ በመደገፍና ወደ ባለሙያዎች እንዲቀርብ በማገዝ የበኩላችንን ሚና መወጣት እንደሚገባ ባቀረቡት ጽሒፍ አመልክተዋል።
በተጨማሪም የአእምሮ ጤናን ለማስጠበቅ የጤና ባለሙያዎች፣ የትምህርት ተቋማት፣ የመንግሥት አካላት፣ ቤተሰቦችና መላው ማኅበረሰብ በትብብር መሥራት እንዳለባቸው ጠቁመዋል።

The University of Gondar’s Student Services Directorate provided leadership training for student representatives of academic departments and members of the Students’ Union on October 10, 2026.
In his opening remarks, Haymanot Belay (PhD), Director of the Student Services Directorate, emphasized the University’s commitment to fostering a peaceful and productive academic environment and nurturing students who demonstrate ethical values, inclusiveness, humility, sincerity, and responsibility.
The training, titled “Serving with Purpose: Building Values-Driven Volunteers and Transformational Student Leaders,” was delivered by Molalign Belay (PhD), Co-Director of the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at the University of Gondar.
The training covered servant leadership, volunteerism as career capital, team building and teamwork, self-reflection and self-confidence, self-awareness and time management, and opportunities for fellowships and scholarships.

በጎንደር ከተማ ለሚኖሩ አካል ጉዳተኞችና ቤተሰቦቻቸው የሚሰጡ መደበኛና መደበኛ ያልሆኑ የድጋፍ አገልግሎቶችን የተመለከተ ጥናታዊ ወርክሾፕ ትናንት መስከረም 29/2019 ዓ.ም በጎንደር ዩኒቨርሲቲ ህክምናና ጤና ሳይንስ ኮሌጅና አጠቃላይ ስፔሻላይዝድ ሆስፒታል ግቢ በእቴጌ ምንትዋብ የመሰብሰቢያ አዳራሽ በተግባር በተደገፈ የጥናት ውጤት መሠረት በማድረግ ሰፊ ውይይት መካሄዱ ይታወሳል።
ይህ ወርክሾፕ በዛሬው እለት ደግሞ በጎንደር ከተማ ከተለያዩ ክፍለ ከተሞች ከተውጣጡ 50 የአካል ጉዳተኞች ልጆች ቤተሰቦች/ተንከባካቢወች በድጋሜ ተካሂዷል።
ወርክሾፑ ከጎንደር ዩኒቨርሲቲ የማህበረሰብ አቀፍ ተሐድሶ (CBR) ፕሮግራም ጋር በመተባበር በተካሄደው “Balancing Act” የጥናት ፕሮጀክት ግኝቶች ላይ ያተኮረ ሲሆን በዛሬው እለት በኩዊንስ ዩኒቨርሲቲ የ3ኛ ድግሪ ተማሪ የሆኑት አቶ ጌታቸው ገበያው የጥናቱ ዋና ዋና ግኝቶችን ከአካል ጉዳተኛ ቤተሰቦችና አሳዳጊዎች ለተውጣጡ የማህበረሰብ ክፍሎች በማቅረብ መርሃግብሩ ተጀምሯል።
የአካል ጉዳተኛ ቤተሰቦችና አሳዳጊዎች በአካል ጉዳተኞች ላይ የማህበረሰቡ ድጋፍ ምን ደረጃ ላይ እንደሚገኝ በቡድን ውይይት ሰፊ የሐሳብ ልውውጥ አድርገዋል።
በመሆኑም አካል ጉዳተኞች የሚያገኙትን ድጋፍ፣ የሚያጋጥሟቸውን ተግዳሮቶችና የእነዚህ አካል ጉዳተኞች ቤተሰቦችን በተመለከተ የድጋፍ ሥርዓቱን ለማጠናከር ሊወሰዱ በሚገቡ እርምጃዎች ላይ ጠንከር ያለ የሐሳብ ልውውጥ አካሂደዋል።
የወርክሾፑ ዋና ዓላማም የጥናት ግኝቶችን ከማህበረሰቡ ተሞክሮ ጋር በማቀናጀት፣ ለአካል ጉዳተኞችና ለአሳዳጊ ቤተሰቦቻቸው የሚሰጡ የድጋፍ አገልግሎቶችን ለማሻሻልና አካታች ማህበረሰብ ለመገንባት የሚያግዙ ሃሳቦችን ለመለዋወጥ እንደሆነ ከውይይቱ መረዳት ተችሏል።
የአካል ጉዳተኛ ልጆች ቤተሰቦችም እርስ በርስ እንዴት መደጋገፍ እንዳለባቸው፣ መረጃ መለዋወጥ እና ልምዳቸውን መለዋወጥ እንዳለባቸው እንዲሁም የአካል ጉዳተኛ ልጆቻቸውን መብት በማስጠበቅ ረገድ ምን ማድረግ እንዳለባቸው ተወያይተዋል።

| 10 | Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at the University of Gondar Holds Stakeholder Discussion on Alumni Engagement Strategy
፨፨፨፨፨፨፨፨፨፨፨፨፨፨፨፨፨፨፨፨፨፨፨
The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at the University of Gondar held a stakeholder discussion on strengthening alumni engagement and building lasting relationships with former students today, October 7, 2026, at the University of Gondar.
Opening the discussion, the University’s Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Kassahun Tegegne, emphasized the importance of maintaining strong relationships with alumni.
He said that, although our alumni spend only a few years with us, they carry the name and values of the University throughout their lives. He added that strengthening alumni engagement will have significant benefits for the overall growth our University.
As the University moves toward institutional autonomy, it aims to build its strength on multiple pillars, one of them being its alumni.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Molalign Belay, Director of the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at the University of Gondar, explained that the Program is supporting the University in the promotion of diversity and inclusion during students' time on campus and after graduation, including helping them access employment, create jobs, and pursue further education.
Dr. Molalign further stated that since these students are an integral part of the University community, the event provides an important opportunity to identify ideas and lessons on how to establish lifelong relationships between alumni and the University.
He called on the University’s directorates, colleges, and academic departments to strengthen their engagement with alumni and undertake activities that create mutual benefits. He also noted that a strategy document has been prepared to facilitate these efforts and encouraged all stakeholders to work together to implement it effectively.
The contents of the alumni engagement strategy were presented for discussion by Professor Tadesse Awoke, Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning Coordinator of the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program, and Ms. Tizita Zewdu, Alumni Relations Officer at the University of Gondar. Dr. Bekele Adane and Mr. Muluken Jegnie also highlighted the activities and achievements undertaken by the Program in relation to alumni engagement.
Following the presentations, additional inputs and recommendations aimed at strengthening the strategy were provided by participants, with Mr. Solomon Mesfin serving as moderator.
The discussion brought together University of Gondar Vice Presidents, Directors, Deans, alumni, and other relevant stakeholders.

| 13 | Amref Health Africa and University of Gondar College of Medicine and Health Science signed a Memorandum of Understanding to Strengthen Cardiometabolic Disease Education and Research
፨፨፨፨፨፨፨፨፨፨፨፨፨፨፨፨፨፨፨፨፨፨፨፨፨
Amref Health Africa, through the Partnership for Education of Health Professionals in Ethiopia (PEP Ethiopia) initiative, is partnering with the University of Gondar College of Medicine and Health Sciences (CMHS) and Comprehensive Specialized Hospital to strengthen institutional capacity for education and research on Cardiometabolic Diseases (CMDs) on October 2,2026 at CMHS and Specialized Hospital compound.
The 36-month initiative, running from June 2026 to May 2029, is designed to enhance the capacity of health professional education and improve the preparation of health workers to prevent, manage, and respond effectively to cardiometabolic diseases.
The initiative primarily targets Nurses, Health Officers (HOs), and General Practitioners (GPs) and will strengthen the capacity of health professionals education and clinical service.
Overall, the program is expected to reach 23,883 beneficiaries, comprising 1,500 faculty members and mentors, 7,300 students, and 15,083 in-service health professionals.
The partnership focuses on four major strategic areas. First, it will strengthen health professionals curricula by integrating competencies related to cardiometabolic diseases, prevention, and simulation-based learning into existing educational programs.
Second, the initiative will support faculty and mentor development by enhancing teaching methodologies, clinical mentorship, and assessment skills. Third, it will promote innovative and digital learning approaches, including simulation laboratories, digital pedagogy, and blended online learning.
The fourth strategic area focuses on research and evidence generation, with educational and implementation research expected to contribute evidence that can inform health policy, education, and clinical practice.
Through these interventions, the PEP Ethiopia initiative seeks to contribute to a stronger and more responsive health education system, producing better-prepared health professionals while fostering active institutional learning networks through our institution.

የጎንደር ዩኒቨርሲቲ ከትምህርት ሚኒስቴር እና «ኢማጅን ዋን ዴይ» (Imagine 1 Day) ከተሰኘው ግብረ-ሰናይ ድርጅት ጋር በመተባበር ለሁለተኛ ደረጃ ትምህርት ቤት መምህራን ለአራት ቀናት ሲሰጥ የቆየውን ስልጠና መስከረም 22 ቀን 2019 ዓ.ም አጠናቀቀ።
ተማሪዎች ከዕውቀት በተጨማሪ በክህሎታቸውና በአመለካከታቸው ብቁና ተወዳዳሪ የሚያደርጋቸውን ዘመኑን የዋጀ የክህሎት ተኮር የማስተማር ሥነ-ዘዴ (Competency-Based Education) መምህራን እንዲከተሉ ማስቻል የስልጠናው ዋነኛ ዓላማ ነው።
የስልጠናው ማጠናቀቂያ መርሃ-ግብር በዩኒቨርሲቲው ዓፄ ቴዎድሮስ ግቢ በሚገኘው የድህረ-ምረቃ አዳራሽ የተካሄደ ሲሆን፣ በመርሃ-ግብሩ ላይ የዩኒቨርሲቲው የአካዳሚክ ምክትል ፕሬዚዳንት ዶ/ር ካሳሁን ተገኘ፣ የ«ኢማጅን ዋን ዴይ» ቴክኒካል ሊድ አቶ ከሰተ አግማስ፣ የዩኒቨርሲቲው የአካዳሚክ ም/ፕሬዚዳንት ረዳት ዶ/ር መንግስቱ ሙሉ፣ ስልጠናውን የሰጡ አሰልጣኝ መምህራን፣ ከጎንደር ዞኖች የመጡ ሰልጣኝ መምህራንና ጥሪ የተደረገላቸው እንግዶች ተገኝተዋል።
ስልጠናውን በተገቢው ሁኔታ ላጠናቀቁ መምህራን የእንኳን ደስ ያላችሁ መልዕክት ያስተላለፉት አቶ ከሰተ፣ ድርጅታቸው «ኢማጅን ዋን ዴይ» የትምህርት ጥራትና ውጤታማነት በሀገር ደረጃ እንዲሻሻል የበኩሉን ድርሻ እየተወጣ እንደሚገኝ ገልጸዋል። ሰልጣኝ መምህራኑ ቀደም ሲል በ12ኛ ክፍል ሀገር አቀፍ መልቀቂያ ፈተና ዝቅተኛ ውጤት ካስመዘገቡ ትምህርት ቤቶች የተመለመሉ መሆናቸውን ያስታወሱት አቶ ከሰተ፤ የስልጠናው ዋና ዓላማ የተማሪዎችን ውጤት ለማሻሻል የጋራ መፍትሔ ማምጣት እንደሆነ ተናግረዋል።
አያይዘውም ይህ ፕሮግራም ለወደፊቱም ቀጣይነት እንደሚኖረው ያላቸውን እምነት ገልጸዋል።
የዩኒቨርሲቲው የአካዳሚክ ም/ፕሬዚዳንት ዶ/ር ካሳሁን በበኩላቸው፤ ሰልጣኝ መምህራን በስልጠናው ወቅት ውጤታማ ስለሚያደርጋቸው የማስተማር ሥነ-ዘዴ በቂ ግንዛቤ እንዳገኙ ያላቸውን እምነት ገልጸዋል። በመሆኑም ባገኙት እውቀትና ልምድ መሰረት፣ የተማሪዎቻቸውን ውጤት ለማሻሻል ከመቼውም ጊዜ በላይ በትጋት መስራት እንዳለባቸው አሳስበዋል።
ሌሎች ባለድርሻ አካላትም ትምህርት ለሀገር ሁለንተናዊ እድገትና ለውጥ መሰረት መሆኑን በመገንዘብ የበኩላቸውን ድርሻ እንዲወጡ የአካዳሚክ ም/ፕሬዚዳንቱ ጥሪ አቅርበዋል።
በትምህርት ውጤት ላይ የሚታየውን ደካማ አፈጻጸም ለማሻሻል ትኩረት አድርጎ በተሰጠው በዚህ ስልጠና፣ መምህራኑ ያሉባቸውን ክፍተቶች በምን መንገድ ማስተካከል እንዳለባቸው የተሻለ ግንዛቤ ማግኘታቸውን ዶ/ር መንግስቱ ገልጸዋል።
በመሆኑም በተመደቡበት ትምህርት ቤት ተጨባጭ ውጤት በማስመዝገብ የዜግነት ኃላፊነታቸውንና ሙያዊ ግዴታቸውን እንዲወጡ አሳስበዋል።

የጎንደር ዩኒቨርሲቲ ከAfrica Digital & Innovation Technology Academy (ADITA) ጋር በመተባበር “AI Productivity for Executive Management” በሚል ርዕስ ለዩኒቨርሲቲው አመራሮች ለሁለት ቀናት ሲሰጥ የቆየው የአቅም ግንባታ ስልጠና ተጠናቋል።
ስልጠናው አመራሮች የሰው ሰራሽ አስተውሎትን(AI) በዕለታዊ የሥራ ሂደት፣ በእቅድ ዝግጅት፣ በመረጃ አጠቃቀም እንዲሁም በውሳኔ አሰጣጥ ሂደት በኃላፊነትና ስነምግባር በተሞላበት መንገድ እንዲጠቀሙ ያስችላቸዋል።
የስልጠና መርሀግብሩ ለአሰልጣኞች እውቅና እና ለተሳታፊዎች የምስክር ወረቀት በመስጠት የተጠናቀቀ ሲሆን በADITA ተባባሪ መስራች እና ዋና ስራ አስፈፃሚ ፕሮፌሰር ሸጋው አንጋው እና ባልደረቦቻቸው የተሰጠው ይሄው ስልጠና የዩኒቨርሲቲውን የዲጂታል ለውጥና የአመራር ውጤታማነት ለማጠናከር ያለመ ነው።

የጤና ሚኒስቴር ከጎንደር ዩኒቨርሲቲ ሕክምናና ጤና ሳይንስ ኮሌጅና አጠቃላይ ስፔሻላይዝድ ሆስፒታል ጋር በመተባበር ለተከታታይ ሰባት ቀናት በዩኒቨርሲቲው ማስተማሪያ ሆስፒታል ግቢ በተካሄደው በሁሉም ዘርፍ የቀዶ ሕክምና ዘመቻ በመጠባበቅ ላይ ለነበሩ 365 ታካሚዎች የቀዶ ሕክምና አገልግሎት እንዲያገኙ መደረጉ በመድረኩ ላይ ተገልጿል።
በፕሮግራሙ የጎንደር ዩኒቨርሲቲ ፕሬዚዳንት ዶ/ር የቻለ ከበደን ጨምሮ ም/ ፕሬዚዳንቶች፣ ሥራ አስፈጻሚዎችና በህክምና ዘመቻው የተሳተፉ የህክምና ቡድኑ አባላት እንዲሁም የጎንደር ከተማ አስተዳደር ም/ከንቲባ ወ/ሮ ደብሬ የኋላ ተገኝተዋል።
በመርሃግብሩ የጎንደር ዩኒቨርሲቲ ሕክምናና ጤና ሳይንስ ኮሌጅና አጠቃላይ ስፔሻላይዝድ ሆስፒታል በምክትል ፕሬዚዳንት ማዕረግ ዋና ሥራ አስፈጻሚ የሆኑት ዶ/ር ጌታው ብርሃን ለረዥም ጊዜ ወረፋ ላይ ለነበሩ ታካሚዎች የተካሄደውን የቀዶ ሕክምና ዘመቻ በተመለከተ የእውቅናና ምስጋና ፕሮግራም የተዘጋጀ መሆኑን ገልጸዋል።
ዶ/ር ጌታው በተቋማት መካከል በተፈጠረው ትብብር በርካታ ታካሚዎች በአጭር ጊዜ ሕክምና ማግኘታቸውንም ጠቁመው
በዘመቻው ለተሳተፉት የህክምና ቡድን አባላት ላቅ ያለ ምሥጋናቸውን አቅርበዋል።
በዚህ የምሥጋናና እውቅና መርሃ ግብር በቤቱ አስተያየት የተሰጠ ሲሆን “የቀዶ ሕክምና ዘመቻው ለረጅም ጊዜ በወረፋ ላይ ለነበሩ ታካሚዎች ተገቢውን ሕክምና በወቅቱ እንዲያገኙ ትልቅ እድል መፍጠሩንና ዘመቻው በተቀናጀ መልኩ መከናወኑ የሚያስመሰግን መሆኑን ተናግረዋል ።
በመርሃ ግብሩ መዝጊያ ላይ የጎንደር ዩኒቨርሲቲ ፕሬዚዳንት ዶ/ር የቻለ ከበደ የጤና አገልግሎትን በትብብርና በተቀናጀ አሠራር ለማሻሻል እንዲህ ያሉ የጋራ የሥራ ልምዶች አስፈላጊ መሆናቸውን ጠቅሰው ዘመቻው በርካታ ታካሚዎች ከረዥም ጊዜ መጠባበቅ በኋላ የቀዶ ሕክምና እንዲያገኙ ያደረገ በመሆኑ ተሞክሮው በቀጣይ የጤና አገልግሎት ሥራዎች ላይ ሊጠናከር እንደሚገባ አመላክተዋል።
በመጨረሻም ዶ/ር የቻለ ከበደ ለጤና ሚኒስቴር መስሪያ ቤቱና ለአመራሮቹ ምሥጋና አቅርበዋል።
